Should Christians use the METAVERSE? | Culture Thoughts 

I am 13(almost 14) and I play vr once and a while but I would rather be in the real world with friends and family. We can’t make this become our life. It’s not real. Think about how you can make yourself whoever you want in the metaverse. Then think about taking off your headset and realizing thats not you. It will just make you put the headset back on and keep acting like another person. God created you the way you actually are and you are perfect the way you are. Nobody should say what or who you should be. Also, if you are always in vr or the metaverse then you might make this like your main “world” that you hang out in. So then you wouldn’t have time for other things like reading the bible and other important things. So yeah thats what I tried to explain.

Do you want to know what the Bible said about metaverse? In Hebrew means: Death Avator origin word is: Sanskrit means: descent or coming down take manifestation. We are living in bible prophecy times. This guy is a wolf in sheeps clothing. For the Lord said " do not love this world or anything in it". He also said, " come out of her my people"... Meaning whatever the world is doing... You do the opposite or the Lord's wrath will come upon you.

As someone who has experienced vr to an extent, I can say that it seems that to come into virtual realms as a Christian is like walking into a decadent high school party. Trans and furries are abundant. I wonder if religious speech and gathering will be allowed in the meta verse, especially considering that biblical beliefs contradict the morals of the internet culture at large

For me preaching through metaverse is nah!! Jesus himself walk by his own foot to proclaim the kingdom of God. His disciples were told to go to every corners of world to spread the good news. Paul himself did to the gentiles by his own physical body. There's no way of shortcut to preach His kingdom. If shortcut gospel was possible, His disciples would've preached through letters only, sitting at home..... A big Nah for me!!!!!!!!!

Base on personal beliefs, christians should not embraced this metaverse concept. You see as a child of God, our lives as Christians are not mere or virtual,it's actual. On hindsight, this can never replace the physical church in itself. One may argue that Technically YT is, but it's not quite...VR is just totally out of it for me. Much blessings 🙏

God just helped me get a revelation from your video. Remember the part where you said about being your own king or queen in the meta verse and being something you’re not, etc? It makes me think about how the devil kept trying to tempt Jesus to bow down to satan as king and Satan falsely promised Jesus that He would be king over all of the earth and be worshipped, that He would get anything He wants, and instead, Jesus fought temptation and said scripture from the Bible to fight off the devil. I feel the meta verse is a temptation by the devils powers. The meta verse messes so much more with your very identity. Yes people have made fake accounts etc but look at how much more “convenient” the meta verse is. If you have that type of power to magically fake who you are and feel very real about it, do you think God would want people to be lost in false identity? Absolutely not! Our TRUE identity is children of God

Good discussion and great point about it being neutral. Similar to Ruslan's take, and I also don't think it is inherently bad, but similar to the current internet: it depends on how people use it. People currently use filters to "augment" or change their natural looks and portray themselves as one way on the internet and another in person. Additionally, in a different vein, Christian rappers use autotune to change their voice, and although I don't see this as wrong, not sure how these people claiming the metaverse is the devil would respond to this, as it is altering a person's actual voice.

Love seeing your meditative neutral approach to this, because yeah the truth is nobody can say what the exact impact of the metaverse will be on the church. I think so long as it is not used as a substitute for in person gathering, but rather a midpoint/middle man for it, then it could really be a good thing.

There are 2 things that made me realize that we as Christians should not use the metaverse at all costs. These are telepathy and teleportation. Telepathy and teleportation have been used for years by those who don't believe in God and as a child I was taught that they are forms of witchcraft. When I said this to someone they said but Jesus and Phillip were teleported or used telepathy. It is true but it was the work of The Holy Spirit. It was not the work of man who does not believe in God for that matter. I have had a lot of Revelations from God since before covid. I met someone who told me that he uses telepathy to assist people to talk directly with God but the person said they use the code, 666 only for the good. He then said to me that I already have the code in the firm of the cellphone. I did not understand it then but now with neuralink and the metaverse, I see the cell phone coming to the people's heads. I also watched a few episodes of "Black mirror" on Netflix and saw that most of the things happening in technology have been written as movies and the metaverse is one of them. The metaverse will affect a man's soul through immersion into the virtual world. Please watch "Black mirror" The Word of God says that we should not neglect the gathering of the saints and where two or three meet He is there in their presence. We cannot replace the Word of God with artificial intelligence. What about the laying on of hands?

I do the exercise program on the Oculus, meta quest... that's it?

I have a question would it be bad to play this game on vr to play gorilla tag?

Christians Please make sure your reading the word Daily stay close to God. use discernment Be careful of who you follow on the internet. Remember what Jesus said in Mathew Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. There are so many Versus I love but one that is over looked and speaks volumes when it comes to knowing God`s word is. 2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I want to have fun, but I don't want to escape my reality and not be myself. There are still morals I wish to keep and not abundant in a fake world. Can we have something related to Christianity.

You get into the metaverse...the physical church will be closed sorry not for my family!

We can use metaverse to preach the gospel and use virtual churches!

When will there vr churches? My grandma is Catholic and wants to attend virtual services because she can't get out of her place.

VR churches aren't theoretical. They exist and I've seen people come to know Jesus through them. Positive things are happening. For any that think the metaverse is dark and dangerous place, consider that that's only more reason for the Church to have a foothold there, not less. If not church in the metaverse, then at least ministry is an absolute necessity.

Thank you for posting this, all important points that need to be considered and constantly re-evaluated. The main things are God is sovereign, we know how the story ends and what needs to happen along the way. Technology is only a tool to help more effectively meet needs. That said it can bee extremely beneficial to the worlds and the church, however, it should in no wat become a substitute for in person fellowship and worship. Will there be people that abuse it, yes of course. Many individuals levarade a variety of different tools, processes and/or substances to escape reality, at the same time God does now wnat us to not leverage tools for good just because there are those that use them for evil or out of weakness... This will open doors for adulterous behavior and so much more- Geesh, oh how we should look forward to the day of the Lord! It’s going to be similar to the Night of the Living dead- folks will intertwine the reality and virtual reality, then soon will be unable to tell them a part. If I wanted to gain control of the mind and behavior I will do something like this to fool the very elect-- Lord keep my mind stayed on You🙏🏽

The advertisements keep talking about shopping in the metaverse. Snoop dog just bought real estate in the metaverse. I see this as the mark of the beast on the forehead.
