Stop marrying these chauvinistic, patriarchal men who see women as slaves. In my marriage we both cooked, cleaned, did laundry. A lot of the time that was time when we bonded. We BOTH paid bills out of one shared account that both of our paychecks went into. Men that see women as equal will cook land clean just like you. The problem women have is the men most of the men that genuinely see women as equal are also the ones that feel both men and women should pay bills. But the "provider" men that women say they want, that pay all the bills, are often a part of the same toxic patriarchal system that women say they hate. You can't have it both ways.

If a woman is going to hold a man to a traditional standard then that women should expect to be held to that same standard. In my opinion the only way a man should be responsible for a 💯% of the finances is if he’s is ready to get married and start a family and his wife agrees to be a stay at home mother. If marriage and kids is not the goal what’s the point in a man letting a woman live off of his money while she has a career and conserves her own 🤷🏾‍♂️

You and your wife know each other and been through stuff now you married these people are single and in the same age bracket so the test of character required for them to know the concept of "who pays what" is yet to be tested in the real world and tbh that opportunity to take that test in life has PASSED them by they'll never get a chance to truly know because they are already middle aged. The time to learn who pays what is during your twenties with your partner specific to that relationship because like you said sometimes ya wife made more sometimes you made more. Even in most cultures, this is how it is!! It is only a conversation amongst men who are not able to provide and don’t have a good career. The woman can work full or partime or not at all if she chooses but the main house bills are the man’s!! This is the norm in most cultures.. it is only an issue amongst black Americans.. I am African. It is considered shameful if you are doing 50/50 with your wife or she is providing for you. The woman’s main job as a wife is to tend to the children and home. @Tasheri Many men feel they get the short end of the stick. No one cares so that energy flows back...men are the gatekeepers of marriage but honestly most comments aren't about what I can do for a man. It's all about themselves...that isn't a "help mate" imo

Tasheri I hear you but the issue I have with women is that like the gentleman said they may get paid slightly less than men BUT y’all have a much bigger platform. So with that platform these woman in the media spread the message of how women have the short end of the stick in their situations but don’t tell woman that they have full control over the power dynamics in their relationships. There are many couples who share the work load of the children and finances. These individuals like to speak from their experiences and paint the wrong picture and these men aren’t speaking up enough. There will ALWAYS be double standards the only difference is that men don’t bring it up the same way women do. As far as the jobs aspect MANY women aren’t going for the same jobs that men are going for & if they are going for those higher positions women like these individuals don’t speak on what comes with those job titles like a loss of family & personal time.

Tasheri I don’t want to do the back and forth im just asking you to look at the other side of the coin. Men don’t have it as sweet as y’all think we just deal with it and keep it pushing.

I don't know if you purposely mistook the example he was trying to make. Which I wouldn't put past you women. He meant that a women who brings nothing to the table and just expects to be taken care off is no different from a child.

I already have a child, so there's basically nothing a woman can offer me to give up my freedom. Freedom is priceless. Most of my friends are married and have to ask, scheme and do all of these tricks just to go out and go on guys trips etc. Freedom is virtually priceless to me that's all.

@Andre Comer Every man is different. Some are Ok with their wives working 3 months after having a baby and PAYING someone else to raise their children. Unfortunately that's the case because women choose men that are not capable of holding the family down financially. By your response I see you're not one of those men that agree with 100% taking care of your child and your wife. If ur wife is cool with that I'm cool with it too. I was fortunate enough to have and raise my children and take care of my husband without the stress of worrying about bills babysitters or putting food on the table. My Beautiful Husband who I'm grateful for did that for us. I went back to work once the babies were school age. Maybe the woman you chose is not WORTH 100%. That's why u feel the way u do. Because not all are worthy

In reality more than 95% of women will have to work and pay bills because the average man, of any race, makes 50k yr, that is not enough to support a whole family with kids. If you do your research you will know the reason why one paycheck cant take care of a family has more to do with women amd equal rights than men. But it's easy to blame men for everything

That shouldnt stop people from creating families and legacies. Only in america is everything quantifiable. And before you start, nobody is saying have babies out of wedlock or dont prepare. the ghettos are only bad because women dont wait for marriage to give birth and those boys they raise lack awareness and empathy and are susceptible to negative influence, Not necessarily just poverty. Btw i was raised by both parents that are still maried 43 yrs later and had 3 black boys who avoided prison. So They did something right. And my mom made more money than my dad at the beginning, her job relocated and we struggled a bit but my dad held it down until my mom got another job in the same field. Life is not black and white. And its not supposed to be easy ladies.

I think some women are entitled and have expectations for men that they themselves cant reach. Think about it, yall can be 5, 1 and only date 6 ft men, yall want him to make more money, have more assets even though there are more scholarship programs for young women than young men. And the elephant in the roon is we live in an equal pay society. So naturally there will be alot of wonen earning more than their men and thsts supposed to be ok, unless yall didnt think that who equal rights, equal pay thing through. 1 plus 1 always equals 2 sweety.
