One thing is certain, Goff's contract will guaranty that Dak will get his. It is crazy how the Lions would give Goff such a contract. Players like Goff only play better than average during contract year, and once they get the contract they are back to being their usual self - average.

Goff getting all the credit for that Super Bowl run is why qb wins is such a convoluted stat. In the divisional against the cowboys Dak threw for 266 yards, had 2 touchdowns, and zero picks but the run game only produced 50 yards on 22 attempts. Meanwhile Goff threw for 186 yards, no touchdowns or picks but their run game produced 273 yards on 48 attempts along w zuerlein going perfect in fg and xp but yet Goff is credited w that win and the loss is put on Dak. The following week we all seen a blatant miss call that resulted in the single season PI were challengeable and Goff played fine in that game but it’s always overshadowed by that single play late in the game. They then proceeded to put up 3 points in the Super Bowl and move on from him years later which is similar to jimmy g.

Because he spoke facts. If I was Jerry, I’d be reluctant to pay too. Dak has gotten paid and produced nothing of what I wanted. No one cares if you put up 40+ points on teams that are below 500 but go below 500 yourself playing teams over 500. That’s a fact. Dak doesn’t compete against competitors. Goff has shown over his career that he can handle pressure and adversity more than a guy like Dak. Dak is like Kirk Cousins. It doesn't mean he sucks, but it does mean he isn't as effective when it matters most. Anyone can use one example in bad faith to make a false argument, but the reality is that everything they said about Dak has some truth. QBs contribute to win shares in the NFL more than anyone else. The problem with Dak is that his performance isn't consistent when facing pressure or big games. His regular season stats make him seem better than he really is. Goff's stats are similar, and he might not be great, but he is much more consistent and level-headed under pressure and in big games. That matters in the NFL, where the most important statistic is winning.

No one is saying he's not a good player, but he's not an elite QB, and even Goff has shown more ability under pressure and in the playoffs than Dak. That's why he shouldn't be paid the same amount. That's all they are saying.
