It's a family resort, but the dad goes out hunting. I assume that it's 6k for everything. Not just the hunting trip itself.

Jordan go on the hunting trip!!! You save and sacrificed for months plus you have the cash laying around. No need to feel guilty spending especially since you have no debt. You work hard so no need to feel guilty enjoying your money

If you want to drive an old car and live in a small apartment and still be a millionaire, what is wrong with that!! Continue to be generous with charity!! Some people are much more comfortable with a simple lifestyle!!! Everyone has too much stuff anyway!!!

Personally I would have rather given that money a different job such as a mutual fund or something since they are freshly out of debt but I don’t think it was terrible thing to do either. Life is here for us to live. And we only live once

This is absolutely true, and like you said at about 1:52, the hardest part is that you are going without your partner and you have to remember that they also helped obtain the cash whether by working for it, or managing spending, but this is a very personal choice. Love the suggestion of building milestones that basically give you the approval of going.

Ecclesiastes makes an appearance. Life is short. I'm headed to Phoenix in March for Spring Training (Mar 2019). I had a week's worth of vacation i was going to lose, and I had always wanted to do Spring Training. I've been saving already for a few months and have it 3/4 funded! I'll write a check before I leave to pay for it all. :)

I get a bit tired of hearing only advice for getting out of debt, not buying brand new cars that cost more than your annual income, etc. So this is at least another scenario a lot of people experience who do not have the poor spending habits that Dave's advice typically applies to.

Why do people like you critize the callers that are doing good? Most calls of people that are debt free always have someone in the comment section mocking them for "the real reason they called" is "to show off". Give me a break! Everyone at every point in life has the right to call. Even if it is to hear Dave agree with them.

I sold my house before it Foreclosed like you mentioned in a video but instead of paying off my debts I had to pay my rent up on an apartment for the year upfront because of my credit. Is that bad? I figure I can pay my debts when I get a job because my Dr. have me the ok to go back to work.

$6k for a three day vacation is low value proposition. Better to go to Hawaii or all inclusive to the Caribbean for a week for that price. One thing Dave never asks is how much is in kids college savings plan. If there is little to none, then no trip.

If your in texas look up white oak hog hunting. It was only like $500. $5k is crazy but if its a luxury hunt then that makes sense. Its ok to treat yourselves if you worked hard

Dave this make me feel better about spending $10 for lunch. I finish paying off $150k and built up my 3-6 months emergency fund just this year. The sting still hurts.

Is it milestones make it more comfortable or does your conscience tell you that blowing money like that is unnecessary but giving money helps me justify it...but you're still not buying it inside? Not saying it's wrong but your conscience is tell you it is. May need to retrain your conscience.

I don't think we should feel guilty about spending. We need to enjoy the Fruits of our Labor but also Be a Good Stewart with God's Money. I just spent money on tickets to Australia and I'm feeling like i should feel guilty but I shouldn't cause I've worked hard for that cash.

What is he hunting? Like big game trophy poaching in Africa? . My husband has his hunting license and owns his rifle and Bowie knife and reflective vest. Cost was negligible. One deer a season for food. I'm not familiar with resort hunting though. Wow! I hope it's not what I think it is. Oh well, that's a different channel

You stay in a nice place with everything taken care of, you go out hunting big game in Alaska or something with a guide, they take care of what you shot (clean, bring back, package, ship back home). It all adds up pretty rapidly. A big game trip to Africa will cost quite a bit more than $6k, especially if you want to bring wife and kid, plus those are typically not 3 day trips.

I hope he's not one of those selfish mofo's who kill endangered animals in Africa for sport. If animals goes extinct I want it to because of Natural Selection and Darwinism. Any man made causes that make a species go extinct is selfishness on our part. I'm talking about hunting, deforestation, pollution, and yes Climate Change. That's something we contribute to.

***** yes I eat meat (chicken, beef, goat, turkey, pork, fish, etc.) but that's different from hunting exotic, endangered animals for sport. As cruel as the idea of eating animals may be, it's sustainable. Those animals are raised commercially at mass production. You can't raise endangered animals at mass production. It takes years for pandas to breed and give birth. Once you kill an exotic, endangered animal that's one less animal in their population.

actually, the animals are not raised sustainably, and animal farming contributes GREATLY to climate change. If it's something you care about, you should definitely reduce your consumption of animal products.

Whitney W. Depends on the location. We would go hunting and my mom and one sis went shopping. Im sure she will be doing stuff not just sitting at home. Or this is her gift to him. Same as maybe he bought her a car so now she is doing something nice for him. Obviously he loves hunting or they wouldn't consider such a trip as this.
