Should I Sell My M3's To Build The 997 911?

Today I finally get to drive the "blown up" 997 911! I'm thinking about selling my E92 M3 and my E36 M3 to build the 997, what do you think?

I’d be hard pressed to sell the e36. Pretty much the perfect BMW and most enthusiasts eyes. I’d take my time with the 997 just redo the suspension and hold off on any crazy engine stuff.

Keep the e36, because if you regret selling and try buying another one in similar condition / performance it would a lot more

Verrrrrrrrry good point. I don't know if I'd be able to re-create it with the cost of S54's and 6MT transmissions now.

I’d say keep the E36. There’s no rush to build the 997 and if you ever want another E36 it’ll likely cost more to replicate than what you’ll get from selling it.

no you should definitely not sell the E36 to build the Porsche. the sound, experience and fit and finish on the e36 is worth way more than some Porsche parts.

Of the three cars, if I had to sell one, the E36 would be the last to go! So hard to find good ones now without spending silly money. I’d sell the E92 first, if one must go. Otherwise take your time on the 911 build, and enjoy all three cars 👍🏼

Mannn, that seems to be the general consensus for sure! I think you're right...there's no need to rush the 911 build besides for content, lol.

I’d keep the E36 and take the parts off the E92 to sell it all separately. Or, ideally keep all three. I wouldn’t go too far with the 997 as it’ll never be a GT3 - just do pads, exhaust X pipe and coilovers and enjoy it as a fast road car. You have the two beemers for track

Yeah, ideally keeping all three would be epic. I have to make a video on my plans for the 997 but you're 100000% right, it won't be a GT3. Honestly, now that the engine isn't blown, that does change the order in which I'll be modding the car.

If the catalytic converters are really filled with oil, more than likely the catalysts will be overloaded by the oil and probably melt down. So, definitely budget in new catalytic converters.

Ooh 1000000%, haha. Yeah, I'll be re-doing the entire exhaust system on the 911 for sure. Especially if we bore it out to a 4.0!

Another vote for keeping the e36. They arent gonna be easier or cheaper to find later on when you're gonna want another one if you did sell it lol

Baiting the BMWs? Lol If you were anticipating a 25k repair, it's a no-brainer to use those funds to dial the 997 now. You already know my answer. Heck no.

Haha...Well...I've had a few offers on the E92. I'm fairly certain she'll be leaving. The E36 would bring in a heck of a lot more money...but it's hard to let that one go. Aaaand...the crowd has clearly spoken as well, lol!
