I love my R8 but it has some stupid designs. The battery should be just behind a removable panel which is easily fabricated. I am changing the battery this week and will cut a section out of the tub. Also, I will cut a hole to gain access to the brake fluid reservoir.
Hey, this was a while ago so idk if you would still be able to help but, what size spacer do you think I should install if I am at stock ride height with OEM AP1 wheels? I am looking for near-flush fitment at stock ride (cant lower because terrain here is terrible).
Siiiick E92/M3 !!! I have the GT4 V2 lip installed on my E90/M3, and just picked up the GT4 mk2 wing.. I was a little concerned that the wing might be too big but after seeing your ride I think I made the right decision. =D
Do you think the WRC-R XL would be okay size wise for sim racing for someone who's about your same size? A buddy has one that I can get for a steal of a deal, but I'm not sure if it'll be too big.
Ah man...since it's sim racing, I think it'll be fine. If it were being used for track days, I'd probably say no. I guess it also matters how good of a deal you're talking. You could also resell it if you wanted, lol! Either way, win-win!
Bro... I know that this response is old but, Why didn't you think at the time to just put down 2 to 3 wood planks under the tires or jack ramps? I'm like going crazy watching you go crazy about how you were going to tighten the arm bolts with the car on the ground lol! Nice video though.
2:40 where did you place the Jack on the car to get both left wheels off the ground at the same time? One of my factory female Jack slots is bent and I need to get stands under my car
Awesome video. I have a US98M3/5/4dr with 260k miles. I had a US95M3 with 180k miles before some jerk hit me and totalled it. I spent most of my money with Ray Korman in NC. I loved the 95 more than my 98. OBD1 spanked the later OBD2 engines. If you're wanting a 5 point Eurosport Harness bar, it will fit your car using existing front seatbelt mount points (B-pillar) and loosening two front seat bolts. Hit me up--I have one mothballed. It won't work on my sedan, only the M3 coupe 95-99. My sedan B pillar is too far forward vs. your coupe for the Eurosport Harness Bar. You may however, be considering a used TC Kline rear cage. Those are nice too. (I realize your vid is 2 yrs old, you may already have a 5 pt. or 6 pt. harness solution worked out.) God knows you need it with that S54! Awesome job! I now daily drive a 2018 M2. I have to confess, I like the handling and sound of my 98M3 sedan better. The only thing I really like about my M2 is it has a few more airbags than my M3. The M2 plows like a pig compared to my 98M3. The hydraulic steering on both my defunct 95 and current 98 spanks the electric steering on my 2018 M2. The steering feel on my 2018 M2 is good...way better than BMWs previous early attempts at electric (years up to 2016) when they sucked. But, the M2 steering is nothing like the older hydraulic steering. I have zero confidence in my alleged "road feel" I get from my M2. Hell, I had a 2015 X1 (the last car BMW ever made with hydraulic steering), and it telegraphed more road feel than my 2018 M2. Summary: (not explicitly shared above, but implied by my wordy ranting) You put your money into all the right places to fix up your '95 M3! (And, Avus Blau was the best M3 color ever! My 95 was Avus Blau. I could never leave a gas station without a crowd looking at my car when I filled up.)
Looking great, I noticed on the website the seat cloth looks black but in this video the black of the cloth looks slightly redish/purple hue. Is it the camera ?
