They have a perfectly designed villain that shouldn’t be wasted away. I think that Infinite should return but retcon him. If they do him right, he could go from “Infinite is not a good villain” to “Oh man, Infinite is the best Sonic villain!”
Popular opinion: Infinite was wasted potential and his theme song was edgy but also a bop. Unpopular opinion: Infinite is a good villain.. not the best but still good and sonic forces wasnt the best game but definitely not the worst. My opinion: Infinite should either have a redemption arc or a more tragic Backstory that explains WHY he was so power hungry/why he despised being called weak... or both! Infinite has endless potential and hes a fun character. The comics people have come up with that feature him are absolutely amazing and its refreshing. Infinite is honestly a great character and he deserved better.. maybe someone could show him kindness and he could be redeemed. Cuz the Backstory in the game is just a well watered down version of his Backstory in the comics. He went from a proud boss to a whiny power hungry villain.. its.. honestly upsetting so i personally think he deserves better. TDLR: i think Infinite is a good character that should be bought back and redeemed.
Infinite was mentioned frontiers and did win a art competition and was featured in a comic because of it (and appeared in the new toy line but that's not exactly strongest evidence) So sega hasn't forgotten him plus he's probably the most requested villain to return aside from mephiles and out of the two infinite would be much easier to bring back
As someone who actually likes Infinite, I think he deserves a second chance, especially if Ian Flynn and other writers who know how to write characters, are still going to be writing stories for the games. Ian really understands the sonic characters. I think Infinite can be turned into a great character with the right writing. I mean look at Zavok in the IDW comics. People really like how he is portrayed in the comics and they hate his character in the games. So if Infinite as good writing, he should definitely make a return.
Thats right, I couldnt care less about Zavok based off the games, but I've heard some good from the comics. As long as it was written well, I'd be game for Infinite's return.
I’d like a game where Infinite does end up returning as the main antagonist since the main Sonic wiki states that he was consumed by the Phantom Ruby, not killed. So it could mean that he’s trapped in it and it may not have been destroyed during the final fight against the Mega Death Egg Robot.
@@mastertrainergaming Who knows? Maybe that could be the reason for Sonic to finally go Hyper in canon since it is stated multiple times that Infinite is one the strongest enemies Sonic has faced (despite the fact he went down with no effort and no Super Form either). Then again, maybe it’s talking about his potential, not his power directly. Maybe he can create his own transformation by becoming one with the Phantom Ruby, absorbing it entirely.
I truly hope he returns. I would absolutely love for him to become somewhat of a Darth Maul to the sonic franchise. They need to rewrite him, and make him better than he was in that dumpster of a game known as forces. I would also be happy to see Mephiles return. Both amazing villains with wasted potential and horrible game debuts..
Here me out, Where did the phantom ruby go at the end of forces? Thats right to mania plus. So it could be a possibility to see him in the classic timeline
Theres no way they'd let a cool Sonic character like him to die. He may be trapped inside null space and maybe only he and eggman can find the way out, I meam he did give the order to create null space after all.
I just hope people have realised the difference between a mental breakdown and a tantrum. One is involuntary and the other is not mostly. And sometimes meltdowns are confused for tantrums as well
Um mate…..that book says he was ‘consumed’ 😅 given the Ruby has some form of sentience I don’t believe him to be dead😂 people have kinda just assumed he’s dead because of the word ‘consumed’🤷♀️😅 Plus the fact he’s referenced in Sonic frontiers means they haven’t forgotten him
'Consumed' has a more final feeling than 'trapped' or something like that, hence why a lot of people took that as being killed. But we should have gotten some confirmation in Forces haha.
Um the next game? Er……well I would love him to come back in the future 😊 I enjoyed sonic forces but um I’m a bit annoyed SEGA didn’t let the comic writers do more with his backstory and the weird story choices (it’s not as bad as people make it out to be but the story could have been done better if they you know stopped trying to be a mix of mostly child friendly-and-dark-but-not-really mode🤷♀️)
The story for Forces was a paint by numbers, boring story. There were stakes but they didn't have any conviction behind them, and it's a shame because Infinite was a great concept for a villain. That's why I'd be open to a ret-con, which I don't usually like.
Child-like dark ain't gonna do it for Infinite. We need it as dark as he can get! Kids could handle it! Or they could show him blowing up the world is a single strike and detaching the souls from Sonic and his friends. And maybe betraying Eggman too!
Yeah, I know! I just really want Infinite to be at his full potential.... I'll admit that even though Infinite has the power to do that, it would be over the top. I guess I just want Infinite to be handled better and his power would be recognized. Ugh, how did they make such a bad backstory?!
Why is everybody so biased because of one game is like Sonic 06 all over again stop being bias you guys it's a good game I don't care if it had short writing or terrible levels it was an interesting game
Bad writing and bad levels doesnt make a good game. I've literally spent the last week replaying and platinuming it on playstation. Its functional. Its not awful like 06 or Boom, but its not good either. If you're talking about the ideas behind the game, then yeah, its interesting. But theres a difference between concept and execution.
@@mastertrainergaming the levels aren't that easy they're pretty much in the medium range I just wish people would give it a second chance it doesn't deserve the bad reputation
@@Aceknight01 My dude, the levels are very easy; the only hard thing about it is the controls and navigating bad level design. Honestly, I'm glad they dont give it a second chance. Sonic Team cannot be allowed to make a game as boring and average as Forces again. Its such a good idea for a game, completely wasted.
@@mastertrainergaming look I'm not disagreeing or anything the game is just pretty good it just doesn't deserve the bad reputation like Sonic 06 has plus if you haven't noticed there are some secrets in the game that leads to another Sonic game
I feel like they should bring him back. Dudes got too awesome of a design, pretty awesome powers and too awesome of a theme song not to bring him back. It would be a waste. However I do think they should retcon his story and have Ian Flynn write for his story too.
