@@BranWolfYTexactly. I’ve been saying this for a couple years now, but BOCW should’ve been a soft reboot or just straight up remake of BO1. Instead of taking place in the 60s like BO1, it could’ve just taken place in the 80s, as well as de-aging Woods, Mason, Hudson, and Adler a bit from being in their 50s to being in their 30s in BOCW and maybe their 40s in BO6. (instead of Woods and Mason meeting in the Korean War, they could’ve met in Vietnam around the late 60s-early 70s). I think trying to shove in the new BO story with the existing continuity is just too much and limits writing greatly. BO6 should’ve been this timeline’s “BO2” if that makes sense

I thought black ops Cold War was supposed to be a soft reboot. Back ops 1 is cannon and black ops Cold War is the continuation with some events from BO2 being cannon. The flashbacks

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. BO2 events don't make sense in the future stuff If that want to continue the story together with MW.

@@AM_61102 no I know but at first when I played through and saw the Modern warfare Easter egg I thought it was supposed to be a soft reboot but turnabout it’s just an Easter egg and it’s cannon to the Black Ops series

I think the reason for this because was the development crunch they had very less time and work from home was also a thing at that time so they threw the burden of reboot out of box and simply made canon to previous titles

The best result of a rebooted Black Ops would be the fixing of continuity errors and allowing characters like Adler to be in the story without having to finagle the story beats and timeline

Adler was in Vietnam hunting for Perseus. They could’ve started the story there instead of the meaningless flashback missions in Cold War. If you think about it Mason & Woods had nothing to put story wise in Cold War.

Well Now i'm not So Sure about what Activision Cares more, Black Ops or Modern Warfare, from the Looks of it MW is Gettin' all of the Attention This Year, But Maybe 2025 Would be the Year of Black Ops, Hope we see My GOAT Raul Menendez.

Im not against it...i would have preferred to see Hudson and mason lived a little longer than they did...but im fine what we're getting but it does make timeline a little messy I'm gonna be honest

@@jaydenjones1374because MW is cannon to BO and atm we’re in 2024 for the Mw games which means BO2 timeline is next year and if u played it u will know it’s pretty futuristic which means the military has got to randomly make all that advanced tech in a couple of months and we haven’t seen any of it make a appearance yet

A rebooted black ops would be a great idea we can know more all of the history in the characters from Cold War and have good returning characters like bowman where he still has the same voice actor ice cube. Mason and bowman both have great sons what if in the reboot black ops they were both born in the same year

Wierd question but isn't the second cold war the war that is going during black ops ii? It lasted from 2018 to 2034 with the third cold war starting in 2037 and still ongoing as shown in bo3. At the same time the modern warfare story is showing us all this political fallouts or near political fallouts that could lead to conflict. There isn't any major wars other the the 2nd cold war going on besides makarov's invasion of Urzikstan. (Well at least that i know of)

I wouldn't have trusted Treyarch enough to get the job done correctly if they HAD gone through with this. Similar to how Shepard and Makarov have completely failed to recapture the soul of their previous selves, I fear that characters like the Menendez or Reznov would've ended up the same way, arguably the main cast of Black Ops DID end up that way anyway, "I'm a goddamn onion Mason." comes to mind.

I don’t mind a black ops soft reboot past bo2 events But a full on reboot with og characters ? No thank you. look at how MW rebooted trilogy completely tarnished the iconic MW. The writing became abysmal and laughable, characters have plot armors more than ever.

That would've been awful, just like the mw reboots. Mw19 was the only good one cause it was also a prequel and kinda reboot, it makes sense except for the timeline. With the sequels they ruined all the great stuff from the originals, Sheperds betrayal, no russian, etc. same thing would happen with a bo reboot. They would just end up absolutely ruining it, treyarch aren't complete dumbasses tho, thankfully

@@channel45853 It actually makes perfect sense. The original story is amazing, if mason were to live or die in a different way, it would just be a dumb what if scenario. If he died the same way then might aswell remaster the original. The black ops series does not need a reboot, it still has plenty of pieces to put into the timeline, the modern warfare series did not need a full on reboot either. The rebooting bs is getting out of hand

With Cold War they were given limited time to work on the game and Adler was a character that was created for a new franchise or reboot but they shoved him in to the black ops universe with a established characters and stories I disagree with a reboot of the franchise and prefer what they are doing with these legacy characters wrapping up and giving these new characters to shine and take over the next black ops stories can take place in the early 2000s following Adler and Troy with any new characters that appear after that’s what I love about Treyarch and raven

Captain price during the events of black ops 6 is 6 years old and David would be 12 years old he could have been a mentor to price and possibly a continuation of the flashback mission from mw 2019 where we see price save farah
