That is a racist question end of. Employment law states the best qualified person gets the job. Imagine any company saying he is better qualified but we want an English man
I had to look up the answer to the caller's question; who was the last English manager to win a trophy in England? The answer is Harry Redknapp with Portsmouth when he won the 2008 FA Cup. Madness.
What an absolute bonkers season that one was in the FA Cup. Barnsley knocked out both Liverpool and Chelsea. Havant and Waterlooville got as far as Manchester City (then in their last season prior to the gulf state takeover) and 3/4 semi finalists came from outside the EPL. I doubt we will ever again see a season like it.
Absolutely if he/she was the best person for the job The problem is the English have an over inflated view if the team the last time football came home was 1966
No the England manager shouldn't always be English, the England manager should be the best there is or best available no matter their Nationality. All this hooha over Tuchel is because he is German and nothing else (almost any other nationality) and all this questioning about him being manager wouldn't have happened.
Two World Wars and one World cup, terrible chant. As a Chelsea supporter Jeremy do you prefer the hissing sound directed at Tottenham fans? Hypocrite. Football is an obnoxious sport followed by obnoxious supporters.
I have no issue with it, and am glad the FA ignored the 'advice' from the Daily Mail'! On a side note, it is a damning indictment that the FA have failed to produce a bunch of English managers that are on a par with Germany, Spain, Italy. No English manager has ever one the FA Premier League since it's inception in 1992 - that is appalling!
