Yes, we agree and are for divorce though our marriage is more than half a century long. Not all marriages are meant to be. Why force two people to stay together when they don’t want to be together? A very thoughtful video of an important topic Shay!

Hi Ladies, I can only comment on my situation so I'm sorry if I sound jaded. I'm 66 now but I was married since I was 29 and we had 3 children but when I was 45 I got a divorce after 20 years of providing for my 3 kids & ex-wife, who didn't have to work outside the home, but because of her constant cheating, I tried to reconcile with her but it was not an option😔 I'm Christian and it was a very hard choice but it was needed. At the court my ex-wife told the judge "I can't handle the kids" so I became a single father of three kids who were 13, 7 & 5, now 35, 28 & 26

As an American man I'm in favor of divorce. In the US is has meant more sex workers, more free sex and much lower cost for men. Yes US divorce law has been extremely unfair to men, but they should have known better. As long as prenuptial agreements are enforced then no problem for a person to protect themselves. Or just stay out of marriage completely. Women are OK with having sex with men outside of marriage, having kids, so marriage has no purpose. There used to be a real reason for marriage. But as long as there are jobs women can do they can support themselves.

People just grow apart sometimes, and divorce is often good for everyone involved. I raised my son alone and he is now a great man. sometimes it is not in the child's best interest for an unhappy marriage to continue on.

Divorce can provide a much needed solution for toxic, dysfunctional and abusive relationships. That said, Feminism has weaponized divorce in the Western Women in order to fund their Monkey Branching hypergamy leaving damaged (and broke) men and children in the wake of the destruction of the family. Marriage and the traditional family is under severe attack in the US (West) and it is in large part due to the heavy debt burden which required 2 incomes to make ends meet. This Forced women into work force and now feminism has further robbed the last 4 generations of Western Women of their femininity eliminating social norms and mores around the proper conduct of a Good Women...... IMO. Good Luck with that slippery slope. Peace and Love, B Goat

Blaming Spanish colonization for everything gets lame. That ended 126 years ago. Span has allowed divorce for 43 years. Even the Catholic Church does not prohibit civil divorce. This is a Filipino thing. Blaming others is a human thing.

Women should be free from the bondage of men and the Catholic Church. If you don’t want to divorce, then don’t! But don’t tell me and my wife what is best for us!

I just watched the replay of your live stream and came directly here. This is a really great topic for you to be addressing on your channel Shay!! I have to say I agree with you completely. I agree with the woman you interviewed here. Divorce should be an option. It should not just be used as an easy out for silly reasons. Women who are abused physically as well as mentally deserve the option of divorce. I think it is too easy for men to hide behind a law and culture that supports no divorce. I believe women married to a man who is cheating on them with other women has the right to divorce. Women married to a man who makes no effort to support her or the children has the right to divorce. Women married to alcoholics and drug abusers have the right to divorce. Why should a woman (and her children) be subjected to a loveless, abusive, demoralizing life because of the constraints of a law established in antiquity? Of course, I don't know about in the Philippines, but here in the West this situation can be reversed. The man could be the victim - but the this is rare. Yes, marriage is a sacred contract between two people that should not be entered into lightly, but once that sacredness is violated there should be a way to end it legally. Just as marriage is a legal contract, that contract should have a way to be broken. Unfortunately it is hard on the children either way, but dealing with the divorce of their parents is a better situation than seeing their mother or themselves abused. As I understand it, there are many married women with children who are separated from their husbands anyways because he has ran off. Why should the woman not be able to divorce a man like that and start a new life for her family and herself? Of course a family that is together and stable and loving and nurturing is the best thing, but this isn't a perfect world and that scenario doesn't always come to fruition. I know there are many Filipino families out there that are struggling to make it financially, but the mother and father do their best every day to keep their family together and happy. This is the rich family - rich with love and togetherness - content to be together thru the good times and bad. Enough of my rambling again - LOL. Stay safe and keep up with the thought provoking content Shay!

If annulment favors the men and divorce favors the women, what favors the children? As a woman in my late 30's who grew in a broken family, I always hoped that my parents didn't separate. It still affects me now. I wondered why people didn't advocate how to strengthen marriages? So sad.

Divorce is NOT for functioning marriage. Divorce is FOR marriage that is unsalvageable. People who have a good marriages and family have no right to push down to the throat of people whose marriage is HELL. Priest gave their opinion contrary to divorce. But how can they give a best advice when they are not and have not married. Their opinions on marriage is IDEAL but UNREALISTIC and undoable. Moses and Jesus in some extent agrees in divorce. Matt 5:31-32- (32) but I say that a man who divorced his wife, "EXCEPT" for fornication... So with a sin of fornication a divorce is possible. Another argument is that children suffer because of divorce. Right.! But they suffer more if their arents are arguing, fighting, witnessing a philandering father or mother. A good example is an incestuous father raped his daughter. Is it better still to stay together? Or a wife with a young suitor? Or a drug addict husband? It a wife threatening his husband? This is one of many reasons why in certain case divorce is good. If you are a person who lives with a good, happy married life "GOOD FOR YOU" 💕. But not all are experiencing your good experience on marriage. For many divorce is a magic medicine to have another chance, another opportunity, another life to BEGIN WITH. For many divorce is an emergency door exit to a burning house. Maybe today you are experiencing a good happy married life but no one knows the future . People changes, life changes and relationship changes. The speaker just told that there are only 2 countries where divorce is not a law. Vatican and Philippines. The reality is only one- Philippines. You know who are the citizens of the Vatican? Religious people and has a vow if chastity. So it's only the Philippines who has no divorce law I am a senior citizen, happily married for 46 years and have 2 children. Both are professionals and stable job. We are going to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary 4 years from now. Why am I in favor of divorce? Because I met a lot of people who is suffering from bad marriages to worst marriages . I am a counsellor and retired gov't employee and a Pastor. Divorce is not for everybody. It's only for those who are severely marriage is sick and life threatening. For those who are happily married enjoy and thank God for giving you a very good partner. No one wanted a divorce. It like a part if your body rotting, it is better to cut it than the whole body suffers.
