I am a nurse. However, I have realized it is not exactly what I want to do. I was always interested in health. I feel that nursing focuses on illness rather than on health. Not exactly what I am wanting to do. I love learning about and teaching healthy eating. I love preventative care. I would like to be a health coach. Just need a good mentor like you.
You may want to look into Functional Medicine since you have a medical background. I am a certified Functional Health Coach and also attended IIN. Health Coaching is a very impactful practice that helps so many people that need to simplify and unwind from the daily grind.
I’ve been a health, wellness, nutrition, and intermittent fasting coach for 11 years. You are so right, we get in the field with an intention of wanting to be healthier. That’s why I started 12 years ago. I am now an Ambassador and run coach for a national running club. I teach women to be a strong athlete it starts with nutrition first. We can be a gym rat but if we aren’t adopting a healthy diet it’s a waste. When it comes to di-sease and illness reduce your stress level and fill your diet with fruits and vegetables. Sleep is also very important in being healthier, take advantage of those 30 minute naps they work wonders not to mention they’re very refreshing. I also recommend meditation to silence the mind and bring the body into balance.
I just graduated from IIN! So nice to see another successful women entrepreneur. I am trying to narrow down where I want to apply this knowledge and I know it has to do with healthy eating and lifestyle too. I read your blog on this subject and appreciate the tips and the hands on experience that you shared, which is very helpful. Also I love your youtube channel and blog
Thanks so much! And congrats on your certification. There are many ways you can apply your knowledge, it's really up to where your passion lies. I wish you the best!
I became a Health Coach in IIN because of you LIsa!!!!! I found your testimonies and loved them, now I am so happy to live a healthier life and I feel WAY better than before. Thank you LIsa!!! Love all your feed and recipes, you are such a nice person!
I’ve worked for over 10 years in Pharmaceutcals sales. I always had an interest in health and wellness. I started my masters in nutrition a few years ago, but I had to stop due to brain aneurism that was an incidental finding...had many challenges which included 3 surgeries. Now after recovering I want to revisit my goal. Now I’m looking into becoming a health coach. We’ll see where I land but I do now I want help people.
So happy, that you think to do this video, I’m graduated! Finish my 3 years cours, and start know my business. I’m so happy ! Waiting for this video ❤️
This is so interesting - thank you for sharing this and opening my eyes to a whole new world (cue Disney song!). This sounds like a wonderful way to become healthier and share knowledge about healthier living with others. Thank you for bring your wisdom and all of your recipes to us. (I made your recent salsa recipe from the taco salad video and became obsessed. Might or might not have eaten it multiple times a day until it was gone. Must make more!)
OMG serendipity. I have been considering IIN for years now, but never had the time to really focus on the classes, or to figure out the money angel. If you vouch for them, I will look into them again. I've been interested in nutrition and herbs since I was a teenager, and would like to coach people and also create my own line of vitamins and supplements. Thanks so much for doing this video!!
As a Certified Fitness Trainer and Specialist in Fitness Nutrition, I have been wondering how to tie both of these certifications together, and I think this could be it. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Lisa, I'm glad I just found you on RU-vid and went to your lovely and quite info-packed site. In this video, I thought you said you had interviews of health coaches, but I can't find them.
Will become a health coach soon on my birthday in September i am still working at office drooling over my samsung galaxy note 8 love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya
Thank you so much for sharing. I graduated in Psychology and have worked as HR executive but this is not what I really like. That's why I started to look for a job that I can use my Psychological knowledge and I'm interested in life and health coach. I'll planing and register in many courses for years from now. I always would like to use my skills and knowledge to help other people to have a better life, it's my passion and desire since I was young. But yep, I need to earn too. Thank you so much again 🙏
Here in Russia, it is quite difficult to get a hold of good food like for the recipes you create/share. I’m in the process of immigrating to your wonderful country (heading to the US in 2 month). What can I do for the next 2 month to stay healthy?
Hi Alex, I am living in Berlin Germany and I am very curious about two things in your country. Since Russia is neighboring Norwich AND North Korea (that huuuge)... is it true that Russians do not play soccer very well simply because the ground is icy most of the time due to the cold weather? And due to the cold weather areas can Russia grow enough tasty vegetables and meat on its own? I know that Denmark and Germany are exporting a lot of meat to Russia and Azerbaijan and Georgia a lot of fruit to Russia. Since your country is so huge why are you not able to grow it yourself?
The term "health" is not limited to diet or the the ability to prescribe medication. Health also encompasses wellness, physical, mental, and social well-being. And it's in those lifestyle areas where a health coach can provide significant value, encouraging more positive habits.
Looking forward this! I love your style and although I don't always get the ingredients u use in India, I make do with what I have and find alternatives. And yes I want to know who shd become a health coach? Is it better do do a dietitians course or will health coach suffice in starting your own business?
Thanks so much! And that's great that you're able to modify with what you have. In terms of starting your business, it really depends on what you want to do. Dieticians receive much more education on nutrition and their focus is primarily food. Health coaches are more focused on behaviours and general wellness, which spans broader lifestyle areas.
Great information!! I have for several years thought of becoming one even if only to get myself into better health! I enjoy helping others so definitely something to think about!
I live your videos....so helpful also got pdf of meal preps and loved it......just one request if you can add items like a grocery list which are required for each meal prep in each pdf
I want to become a Health Coach! But im just curious about what is the difference between a Certified Health Coach to a having a Diploma related to Health and Wellness? I can't decide what way im going to do first and what is relevant. Any advice?
Perfect timing! Since I was laid low, similar to your experience, and being burned out by my corporate job, I wondered what I could do to help other people not end up where I did with their health. Thank you so much.
Such an informative video. Never though of this as a career path for some. It definitely not my line, but nevertheless so inspired by your story and sharing. I am sure others are inspired by you and your journey. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge with us Lisa, you make it seem so effortless and comprehensive. 👍🏻🙌🏻
You’re such an inspiration! This is really helpful insight - thanks so much. Also, Netflix or RU-vid needs to give you your own show! Your channel for health/wellness/lifestyle is like what Marie Kondo is for cleaning ❤️
With regard to the IIN program you became certified in, I was curious as to the business side of it. I have read that there is outdated information with regard to building a business on social media, etc. Did you need additional business coaching outside of your health coach training? I was planning to sign with IIN tomorrow but it is 6K vs ACE which is a few hundred and you learn on your own with them. Thank you !
Do I need prior education? I have no experience in the healthcare field. I only have a diploma in Jewelry Design, which is completely different from health coaching.
Hai👋I want would like to ask if there anyone or person you know with dessert skill become healthy coach?? Because I really love to learn about healthy food but I don't have knowledge about healthy coach.
Kind of off topic, but I've been reading a little about low caloric density foods... apparently 400 calories of greens should keep us fuller for longer compared to 400 calories of steak...🤔 Maybe you could do a vlog and explain it all with some examples to help us make healthier choices!?
Is the work you explained in the video that you do is very time consuming? When you started off how much time you were spending building your business on daily basis?
Please, could you tell me how long it take to complete the certification and if I need any other requirements like a state license to begin working. I live in Florida.
Hello, I wanted to know after completing you IIN Certification, did you have your website in place already? What I'm trying to say were you completely ready with website, FB, blog, youtube, recipes, ect..., or did you work on all those things during or after going live per say? How ready were you? I feel like i am never ready because I need this and that...
Upload a video channel to teach how I opened your own website for eating because I love cooking and do not know how to do for myself a special page in my way؟❤❤❤⚘🌹
I looked into IIN recently and It's near $7000 IIRC. Instead I'm going for ACE Health Coach Certification. I've also done Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification which includes not only nutrition info but coaching info as well.
Hi, I love your posts. I do wish you would make more "modular mealpreps". I find planning everything out not possible at all, nor eating the same thing for a week. So I love your combination of mealprep with fresh. I regret there are only 4 of them.
I've been a certified IIN coach since 2017 and haven't been able to do anything yet. I don't want to do 1:1 because it isn't scalable, so my biggest challenge has been how do I monetize? If I'm an influencer, how would I make money? Cookbooks? Meal plans? RU-vid videos? (ad revenue). I can't find 1 nutrition coach who can help me. Most people telling you how to start online nutrition biz are NOT nutrition coaches.
I am not socially active. So is it good to become a health coach. How to get the first lead or client when we are not socially active or to continue as a health coach.
If you want to be a health coach, just call yourself one. There are no laws about calling yourself a health coach, since it’s an unregulated industry. If you want to become an actual expert in health education, pursue post-secondary studies at an accredited post-secondary school in a field like public health, dietetics or kinesiology... and look for a legitimate school that doesn’t have an AFFILIATE program that pays people who convince you to register. Who has EVER heard of a REAL university or college that pays affiliates to bring in students? This is so disappointing and exploitative.
As I mentioned during the video, a health coach is not a dietician, doctor or other health expert. A health coach inspires and motivates lifestyle changes. There are no college degrees for athletic coaches or business coaches either, yet they too can have successful careers and play a pivotal role in the lives of those they coach. I had a positive experience with the health coaching program I attended and thus, am sharing those experiences. It's no different than sharing the tools I use and love in my kitchen (which also have affiliate programs).
I am a personal trainer and have enrolled into the PN1 certification program. I’ve since learned in my state I will be unable to use my certification because it encroaches on the Certified Dietitian, so I’ve put a hold on it. Do you have an idea on how I could use this certification in other ways???
Yes, each state is different when it comes to certifications. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the PN1 certification, so you'd have to enquire more about what you are and aren't allowed to say/do in your state.
@@Downshiftology - So very thankful for your response!! It is actually called Precision Nutrition certification and has been an expensive program for me to be unable to use. Can you recommend any other way I could apply that knowledge online maybe?? Or are you still tied to your state regulations?
I liked IIN but for the cost its pricy for just a certificate and now it's it's almost 7,000. One nice thing is that allow affordable payments unlike most that do not.
I believe in an integrated wellness model where health coaches, dieticians and doctors all work together and complement one-another. They all serve a different purpose and have different expertise, which is why leading-edge medical facilities are now starting to adopt this approach.
But Dieticians educated by Rothschild controlled Pharma driven universities aren’t taught how nutrition and holistic healing eliminates the need for pharmaceutical drugs and needless surgeries because of course that would severely hurt the companies bottom line :)
