@@davidlewis4399 the main point of an EV is that it cannot pollute while in use, because there is nothing to exhaust, and is much cleaner on refueling even when drawing from a coal fired plant. We could go into more depth about the energy usage comparison between drawing directly from a power plant vs all the steps from the extraction of crude oil to the gasoline in your car but that is more than I feel like spelling out tbh. And most people on Earth don’t drive for hundreds of miles at a time without any breaks on any kind of regular basis.

Maybe he should try driving through corners and maybe it will make him buy a Miata.

@@user-hr2zy7ct8h there is no logic whatsoever in saying a person who wants a fast car should learn to 1. Find a canyon near them 2. Learn to enjoy canyon driving 3. Buy a 2 door convertible with no power instead of getting the best car for their needs: in this case drag racing I love the Miata to bits but this comment is so stupid

But when I read about americans and their straight line sporting experiences I really feel like they should try driving cars through corners some times, like their experience is very limited and there's so much more potential for fun. I know you have reasons for it, like not many mountain roads, the roads are more dangerous, etc.

@@user-hr2zy7ct8h One thing I noticed after getting a model 3 performance is a lot of people will try to "race" you on the street when you're just driving around. This is probably true of any fast car, and probably why people like fast cars to begin with. No one gets into impromptu races around corners and anyway a tesla is plenty fast around corners b/c you can blast out of them on exit.

@@user-hr2zy7ct8h yeah it’s not the same here in the US but also, myself and many of my colleagues don’t have the time or the interest in driving just for the fun of it… that makes the straight line acceleration (and for those with AMGs the noise lol) the only “fun” aspect of the daily drive to work You can daily a Miata but it’s not the same as hitting 1.4 Gs at every street light and checking emails on FSD in heavily traffic

@@izsakitt3711 fair enough. it's by no means ugly, the front of any model S is similar to older Aston Martins. I personally can't drool over it but that's just a matter of opinion.

I think they were going for a cool cyberpunk look with the Lucid, but it doesn't look good in photos. Maybe it looks good in person - some cars are like that. But yeah the general effect is kind of retro and it looks like a first-gen Ford Taurus (before it got all bubbly) or like some 90s Japanese cars or something.

And there's totally no issue to create infrastructure in overpopulated cities and areas, obviously, not at all. I can tell you've been to Asia, South America and Africa billions of times and have made the logical conclusion a trillion dollar infrastructure project is what those places need, and they should not just invest trillions into EV infrastructure instead of more relevant infrastructure or renewable energy, economic or environmental projects but also the population in every third world country should spend every last dime they have to buy an EV. @@user-hr2zy7ct8h Third world country should use fossil fuels to grow their economy. EV is just more energy efficient and less moving parts, low maintenance and therefore last longer. I don’t have a horse, high or low, but I do have a pinky ring por beso.

During the Plaid reveal event one of the employees stated it was capable of 400-500 hp but was limited by the amount of juice it could pull from the current battery system. So with the new 4680 system it should unlock more power...

If you get into $30k debt, which is a car payment. Invest that $30K into 3 or 4 good tech companies, you will have lots of money when you pay that debts off in 5 years. You only live once and will never died of starvation, so just go for it!!

Yeah but this is a facelift model S and the model S already had enough power. There's no emotion other than speed, and the model S you could buy like 10 years ago had all the speed you would ever need. So there's nothing to talk about while silently driving this thing. It would be boring to review this on the autobahn and he's in the USA. The people in the industry are already talking about how there's no difference between EV models and it will be hard to sell performance models of cars which already provide more performance than 99% of drivers use. EV drivetrains are very different. I'm glad he doesn't fake emotions like these youtubers do and pretend he's having the time of his life driving it even though he can barely feel the difference to other Tesla models. And he would incriminate hisself so quickly if he actually uses the throttle, can't take it to mountain roads either because as far as I know EV infrastructure in remote places like canyons and mountains in the USA is still extremely poor.

@@lachlanB323 Most people hate noise? What are you smoking? They literally put tubes into the cockpit because the sound dampening has become to effective. I didn't really mean there's no emotion while driving it, I meant that on video you can't feel the Gforces and speed and Gforces are like 90% of the experience, giggles are max 10%. And the speed can't be captured on video like it can in an ICE car where you hear how fast the engine is spinning. It's much to video-gamey to be exciting on video.

@@lachlanB323 it's basically about being enthusiastic about the engineering work. just like watch people seem unreasonable, you have to admit there is something fascinating about mechanical watches and their clockworks when you look at expensive pieces. same goes for cars, hearing all the pistons move, the fuel being burned, the air rushing through the intake and exhaust, there's just something about it.

I don't think is a better when the old Model S Performance was 90k and offered a low/ mod second car. The refreshed long range doesn't even have ludicrous mode. When it was 80k I think it was a bargain at 90k I am not sure. The plaid offers McLaren 765LT straight light performance or hypercar performance that why it is an absolute bargain

Each to their own right. I prefer a smaller car. M3 is ideal.

Comparing a $2 million dollar car with twice the HP with 4 motors vs a $140k family sedan with half the HP and 3 motors. And that Rimac has like 1/10 of the tech Tesla has and can do.

I was thinking exactly the same when he said that. Yes, the Ultra White does show dirt, but it always comes off quick and easy. the build quality is awful. The interior quality is not even close to the cars at the same price. And if you wanna talk about how fast it is, its only fast on the straight lane. m5cs would smoke this car on any track.

@@user-tw4fd4wu1g It's fast in corners, too, but it's a boat, no brakes can handle the weight, and there's no EV infrastructure anywhere in the world besides some privileged places and stupid people in those places claim this is the future because they apparently never heard about biofuels or the fact that we already have billions of cars and Tesla wants to build another billion. So far they have only produced luxury cars so they aren't concerned with the environment building a billion of these.

You charge at home while you sleep. So how about infinite range?

My use case is a drive from my home in So Cal to my cabin in Southwestern Montana. Roughly 900 miles. Once there, a " run for milk " is about 50 miles, round trip. I don't need or want zero to sixty times. I need range.

For 30 grand I would figure out how to replace the yolk for a steering wheel.

The autopilot works perfectly, it's almost able to go in a straight line. And if the road markings disappear it will go into the middle of the road and force others off the road or crash into them, which is an intended feature.

i can tell you, with experience, TESLA service is at least as good as legacy OEMs. my experience is tesla is much better. best wishes with other manufacturers.

The plaid goes to show Tesla's technology edge over its competition. To beat the plaid you need a limited production 2.4 million dollar Rimac. No electric car company today produces more cars than Tesla. Nor do they have a better technology than Tesla. They are working on improving their volume by expanding the Shanghai giga factory, completing giga Texas and Berlin. They are now manufacturing their own batteries in house. No one else comes close in terms of scale.

@@achasilas6535 true they produce more but other will also produce more and eventually catch up. It’s a race and Tesla is ahead but I don’t believe there technology is so much better as they claim. The quality of there cars is questionable and there business model also. To be the leader you have to sell car that people want, so far Tesla demand is dropping in China and some place in Europe because they don’t offer what people want.

@@odisy64 Have they done it yet? And every other problem, are the fixing the other problems? And how about customer service? I bet based on their attitude, customer service workers are all from California (which makes sense). And I heard about customer service by people who love and desire Tesla. Also, the only way they fix my aforementioned problems is by going ICE. With how much money Tesla has, they should be researching synthetic fuels, not ETDs, which are kinda useless for anything but being transported.

@@alexedens1 Compared to other Teslas yes. Compared to everything else, not so much... Their absolutely TERRIBLE customer service trumps that anyway. If someone gave me one, I would sell it and buy something else. The EQS for example. WAY better quality and plenty fast for me...

I know that for a lot of people who bought these, saving the environment wasn't even near the top of their list of reasons. In a lot of ways the EV is simply a better car. Also, coal is rapidly dying out anyhow.
