Yeah even things lie the type of oil it takes. Oil changes are gonna be real expensive, and it’s every 3-5k miles so it does add up. I really like the new design but I might go previous gen and save some money since I’m getting a Camry within a few months.

it may not be the case for any new car to think this as you used to be able to on the older ones. there's parts engineered beyond reliability like the plastic valve cover. in 15 years the valve cover will be prone to cracking if you push on it too hard. I'm sure heat from oil and pressure in the head will work that out itself too.

A 2025 Camry LE Hybrid wouldn't last 5 years. The Bottom of the Barrel or lowest Trim level always breaks down after the Basic Warranty Expires. A fully loaded 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid FWD has an MSRP of nearly $42,000 and AWD would be $43,500. I despise Hybrids and EVs and don't care about MPG. For myself, "ICE", is the only way to go! I own a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded MSRP of $41,305 and paid OTD $39,800 incl. Sales Tax, Registration, Plates, and all fees.

I've had my 2025 Camry XSE AWD in black for about a month. It's been an amazing car. Drives smooth. Sport mode gives it a jolt - plenty of power. Adaptive cruise is awesome. Interior looks impressive and materials feel high quality. EV mode in parking lots and quiet residential areas is great - using it way more than I thought. Looks low-key money in black with black badges IMO. I thought the gas mileage would be a bit better. If you drive like an angel it's great. But drive somewhat aggressive, it gets less impressive. Overall I'm so happy I bought one. I enjoy driving and looking at it. On top of that, my dealer got me the "dealer demo" so I was one of the first in Canada to take delivery of a 2025 Camry XSE AWD. Couldn't ask for more.

I haver a 2025 LE and I now have 2500 miles on it. I just changed the oil at 2270. I got the Mobil one 0W8 at Walmart with a Toyota filter, my total oil cost with filter was under $35. Thank you for the honest review. Sounds like the Camry is still a great car technically, with several annoying quirks that older generations did not have, and several downgrades over the previous versions. I guess we passed the peak of best cars ever made, not just with the Camry. Glad they're still focusing on reliability, that's most important to Toyota buyers like me. That said, the Camry XLE now costs almost twice as much as what I paid for my 2014.5 Camry XLE, and just about the same as what I paid for my 2022 Avalon XLE, so you are absolutely correct that prices are getting out of control. I would say go and drive each one and decide. 0 to 60 time is not significantly different between the two. But fuel economy is almost double on the hybrid. So you'd have to decide what you value more. Slight bump in 0 to 60 for double the cost of operations? I would say if you don't drive that much or just the average amount most Americans do it probably isn't such a big deal. But if you do a whole lot of city driving particularly the hybrid is going to definitely pay dividends. If you do a whole lot of long distance highway travel it will make less difference. Friend of mine has the previous generation V6 Camry and he averages low mid-30s at highway speeds.

0W-8 has been in use in Japan for a few years now. It was only recently (within six months) approved for use in the US. Many of your recent engines sold in North America requiring 0W-16 are actually designed to run on 0W-8, but were vetted for compatibility with 0W-16 in the North American market. Because of the recent approval, it's taking some time for the oil manufacturers to put together a 0W-8 oil for North American markets, get them certified, and put them on the market. Over the next six months, I suspect we'll see them become more common on the shelves at auto parts stores. :)
@4af

@johndoe-fy6jz
@johndoe-fy6jz Месяц назад
why? you understand that the hybrid powertrain is more reliable? there's no starter for example, it uses the electric motor to spin the engine up to speed. the ecvt has no moving parts beyond rotating gears and a parking pawl. the lack of shifting means you don't have acceleration gaps. no valve body in the transaxle to wear out, no shifting bands losing friction material over time. there's no drive chain in the ecvt like other cvts, it's two electric motors and the combustion engine each spinning at different speeds to create an output ratio, so if you floor the gas the power is very quick to come in because you're not moving pullies to change the drive ratio of a steel pushbelt. I just cannot fathom how people find a modern hybrid powertrain to be less reliable than one without.
