When I researched that robot when it first came out, they simply weren't as accurate as a 3d printed guide, both in angulation and placement location.

The type 1 guide is just a visual aid. These will posses a large degree of knockout error similar to placing freehand. The type 4 fully guide electronic system like Yomi will control for positional error and be comparable to a type 4 tooth borne plastic guide. So the question then becomes how many plastic guides can I make for the investment in the robot with both systems providing similar results.

I designed and built a robot for mar research on my masters degree so yes I like the type 4 robots:-). However, I recommend a detailed return on investment before the purchase. With a Sprintray printer you could do an type4, dentition support surgery and printed immediate non functional provisional for about 12USD and within one hour! It’s hard to compete with that.
