In the market for a smartwatch? Watch this video to hear about my experiences with the Apple Watch. Hopefully it will help you make your final decision.
It all started with a debate on which smartwatch I should buy next, then it turned into me questioning whether or not I even need a new one. In the video I break down the reasons I bought the Apple Watch in the first place. Then I go over how those reasons help up after 2 years of owning the watch.

It's 2021, and this video is still relevant. I bought a watch 4 from Samsung.... It's been 3 days and I'm already pretty underwhelmed by it, and realized it does nothing I can't already do on my phone better. I'll be returning it.

I'm an athlete, so I was kinda of looking for a smartwatch, but really thought I didn't need one. Thanks to your video, I've realized that I really need one, because I go to the gym, go swimming, do crossfit, running, tennis, and I really need to see my bpms and how my heart and lungs are working, since I had covid. But that's the only reason.

I am having the same dilemma here. However, I have decided to purchase it again because I like constant reminders, timer, and sleep measurement. I wouldn't spend that much to buy one though.

@@Wealth_Inspired I've spent weeks watching RU-vid reviews of smart watches and it's completely mind blowing. In the end I bought an off brand smart watch from Amazon, it cost £55 and I'm sure it will do all the same things as an expensive smart watch even if the heart monitor is slightly less accurate 👍

I own a galaxy watch. Got myself one, because I saw its potential. I usually miss a lot of notification and some calls, because it's sometimes loud where I work. So it helps me alot. The activity tracker is good, but not awesome. I like how it automatically know what I do, but it's not always accurate. It's overall a good watch and I'm satisfied. Btw You've improved a lot. I'm proud of you, son

Lol thanks Votix! I appreciate the feedback and as for your watch usage, yeah sounds like you're getting some good use out of it. Now that I think about it, when I worked at a place that didn't permit me to touch my phone, having the watch did come in handy, totally forgot about that.

What were people doing before fitness trackers? They were still working out, still reaching fitness goals, even though they had no idea what their heart rate or steps were for the day. I consider myself a watch enthusiast and I also love tech and gadgets but smartwatches seem to be a market that, since it's conception, has been trying to validate it's existence since the whole thing began. That alone tells me it's a product of no serious value. It's strictly a compulsive buy, which, there's nothing wrong with that just don't try to convince me it's because of a genuine purpose, that such a device validates buying.

2:24 is so true to the point it's not even an opinion anymore. Also the reason why it pushes me further to not buy a smartwatch anymore. I mean, I am always on my phone and tablet that it's useless for me to own another gadget that will notify me for the 3rd time lol

True review mate > utility value that we buy things for, usually becomes invisible/irrelevant as time passes > what remains is charging and overhead > I literally had switched to Casio F-91W as it just works, it is part of my body now, no charging and life is so simple.

I had the Apple Watch 6 but I missed my Swiss dive watch. I love my tech and stuff but I also love getting away from it. I know I can put on a normal watch and not worry about charging it, it’s always going to do what it needs to do which is tell the time

How crazy you make a video about a topic I was having with my brother recently. He wants to upgrade his apple watch and I asked if he really needed the upgrade or if he wanted the newer one just because. I have an apple watch but I got it merely for the fact that it was apple. I now put it to good use because I use it as an activity tracker everyday but like you said in the video there are trackers out there that do almost the same things the apple watch does for a much more reasonable price. This was a great video man. I'm excited to see these tech related videos you are going to bring. I'm always interested in the latest tech that's out there and what others have to say about what they have experienced with said tech.

Like I said in the video I have had to rethink about owning a smartwatch and currently feel unsure if I even want another one. I wish I´d watched this video before buying my smartwatch. You are totally right! In addition this is my experience: - I wanted to look on my phone less often because I thought it´s not polite to do so in meetings. Now I know: To look at your watch is not polite, too. - I need a watch when I´m in the pool to measure the time per length. I usually wear glasses - but not in the pool. Smartwatch doesn´t have physical buttons... I can´t read it... useless. - I bought one with a built in GPS for hiking. I usually do very long day hkes and overnight hikes. Battery is to small - useless. - I´m not the tech-guy, don´t have fun to explore all the functions of my watch. So most features are... useless. Now I wear my dumb Suunto X-Lander and I´m happy again. And sorry for a prejudice when I (mid forty) watched your video! My first thoughts were: "Drug dealer? Young pimp...?" :) After only a few seconds I realized that your video is pretty professional. So if you want to extend your target group you should keep that in mind (maybe you could play with that and use it to develop your own "brand").

Thomas Ko haha you hit on some great points. The biggest one being the glancing at your watch while talking to someone or in a meeting. It’s a small gesture that can be easily misunderstood as wanting the other person to hurry up or being in a rush to finish. The second half of your comment really made me laugh, I don’t know many drug dealers that would creat videos sparking debate over smart watches 😂. But thank you, I don’t necessarily want that to be a part of my brand so I’ll work on creating an image that doesn’t come off that way.

Regarding the first point you mentioned... TOTALLY! I had a coworker that had a smartwatch and it was kind annoying that she checked her watch like every 2 mins and wasn't even paying attention to you, like what's the difference between checking your phone or your watch? You're not being respectful with the person in front of you anyways!

Nice review, I just got one I n 2020. It was an impulse buy and a samsung so its lacking in apps. The reasons I love it, working in a trade my calendar is a touch away, I can answer calls without finding or accessing my phone and can control music whyle in the workshop effortlessly. Honestly I didn't think it would be so great but I find it invaluable now. I have cracked a screen on my phone twice due to needing to have it on me at work, it's an effort to keep a + size phone safe in my work but I do appreciate it for the pics and emails. Now I can leave it in a safe place on site and use those functions when necessary whyle being able to do the more important stuff more effortlessly. My only question now is how well will it hold up?

As someone that has seen a fair share of smart watches I haven't owned a single one as I don't see the point with one. What I think does appeal to me is the music controller feature directly on your wrist but I prefer wired over wireless as simplicity is key to be more reliable and even modular to suit your need.

A thought that I had while watching your video is that out of all the people I know who have smartwatches, it's mainly the women I know that take full advantage of their smartwatches. I can't speak for every woman, of course, but the friends of mine who are women said it mainly comes down to the continence of not having to dig through their purse for their phone to check every notification, or (with a cellular watch) they can leave their phone at home if they are going for a run while wearing a workout outfit that doesn't have pockets for a phone. Not to mention that the cellular watch offers an extra layer of safety for them: if their purse gets stolen with their phone inside it, they can still call for help. As a guy, I never have these kinds of problems because men's clothing always has roomy pockets that are plenty big for my phone no matter the occasion (casual, classy, workout, etc.). Personally, I think I would enjoy the novelty of it and probably consciously train myself to take advantage of the features so that I don't feel guilty for spending the money on it.

thank u for sharing your experiences. i'm actually still having a dilemma if I'm gonna buy a smartwatch or not. Do I need one or I just want to buy one. And honestly, after watching this, maybe the desire to buy a smartwatch is more on the WANT side. I'm just gonna buy a regular watch then. 🤔 Additionally, the second & the minute hands in the watch are very much needed in my job and I don't know if smartwatches have that. 🤔

Good video came to same conclusion nice toy to play with but no real need to replicate on my wrist what my mobile can do better borrowed a friend's old smart watch to try it out but gave it back a few days later glad I did not waste money on one just bought a better phone instead

I just bought a smartwatch thinking all the same things, and exactly 2 weeks i got tired of it. I just now use mine for recording my rides in cycling,just going out and wake up alarm. Glad i didnt spend a huge amount on it.

i dont like wearing stuff on my wrists especially playing tabletennis & working out. its convenient for me since i walk & commute to & from work everyday and i leave my phone in my bag to keep my pockets free. Otherwise i just use it to tell time.

Definitely love my Apple Watch I can answer calls while driving with risking a ticket for being in my phone love the Apple Pay on the watch makes payments so easy don’t have to reach for my phone or wallet and when I’m at work I just ask Siri certain math problems if I need to cause I work at a gas station makes till calculations so much faster/easier and I can get notifications when my phone is set down/ away from me I wore a normal watch before for the time a date cause I’m horrible about what day it but since I wore a watch anyway might as well be a smartwatch

If i ever buy a smart watch, it will be to use maps to navigate to a certain place while walking. That's the only key benefit I see.

Dude Thanks for the honest review - im not even a fan of knowing the time all the time - music can be controlled via airpods themselves and although i go for a run almost daily - caunting/knowing your calories wont generally make u magically drop some weight or help u get better in shape - meaning there's just no reason for me to get one. The only reason i was considering one ok s cause apple watch 3 series is not thay expensive and I haven't used a smartwatch before.

ChrisAwake you’re welcome! Yeah I’ve gone back and forth with whether I should continue using mine. At this point I only use it to check the time or peak at a text when I can’t get to my phone. Aside from that the only feature that has come in handy a few times is the ability to ping your phone. Has saved me from being late more than once lol.

I want to own an apple watch for its convenience, but the only thing thing that find discouraging is its price point. Sure its an investment of some sort but its value depreciates over time imo

i just want to buy a smart watch only because i want to own one hah.... yet i can never pull the trigger to buy one because its true how maybe 90% of its features ill NEVER use besides customizing the look and the ability to receive notifications...and thats it really. maybe if i find a good used cheap one then ill buy one, just to finally get over the feeling of wanting one.

That's an honest review. I wonder by the way what the switch to Android was like. If WhatsApp for some mysterious reason didn't prevent making back-ups from iOS to Google Drive, I would have switched to Android too.

Very helpful review, but he kept mentioning that most of the features seemed pointless bc he did them on his phone anyways. But I think the point of a smart watch is that you don't have to always have your phone on you. I am thinking about buying one, mostly so that I don't have to bring my phone everywhere especially for quick things like runs, shopping,. etc.

Honest review to watch before buy smartwatch. I'm not really wanted buy smartwatch because of functionality. But because it's looks cool and can do a lot of stuff. But realize something. I don't really use that functionality like check notification and change music.
