SHOULD YOU BUY THE SU-25K? - SAKO SNIPER

As an absolute Air RB main, I can hear that you're more of a ground player and I feel like in the aspect of Air Battles, you didn't sufficiently cover the plane. I've played the 25K a lot in the past couple days and it is an absolute monster of a tech tree grinder, especially if you know how to use all the different features effectively. Want to get a really high score? (For example for the 2500 score points missions?) Get the 4x500kg bombs, enable ripple quantity, set it to 4 and lock the enemy base with CCRP. You can destroy 2 bases with that loadout, giving you 1100 points and even if you immediately die afterwards, with premium that converts to around 6-8k RP. If you live longer or happen to come across enemy base strikers you get another 2 kills with the R-60MKs and end up with slightly above 2k scorepoints. A few more ground targets, AI planes or simply one more assist/kill will get you covered. Easy 15k RP. If you want to farm ground targets, which this plane is absolutely fantastic at, get the S-8 rocket pots for maximum amount of rockets. Thanks to CCIP you can easily hit uncovered targets like Artillery and AAA, but light pillboxes and light moving targets are also guaranteed kills if you hit anywhere near them. With the 30mm gun you can also kill any AI tank, just be careful of maps like Golan Heights where there are SPAAGs who will almost immediately kill you if they get a lock on you. They have the detailed damage models so they can't be taken out as easily as regular AI targets. These rocket pots are also great to finish of bases that weren't fully destroyed. And then there's the air to air aspect of this plane. Get the 2 or 4 gun pods (whatever you prefer, I usually run it with all 4 of them, it barely loses any capability compared to two). The gun pods are really good to aim with a medium gun convergance distance. A lot of people still go into headons with the Su-25K, which is a huge mistake. The guns will eat anything they touch and their low drop rate make them easy to aim. If you go without any gunpods and deploy flaps, you can even outturn F-5Cs btw, but you will lose a sustained fight because they have a better energy retention and can just change the direction to hit you from another angle, which you can't. Outrunning them is not an option. Also: You can deploy combat flaps at speeds up to 890km/h, which is insane considering that this plane doesn't go much faster than 950. You have a really good roll rate, so roll hunts are an easy win for you. As for the R-60MKs: If you do a headon lock, don't launch the missile if you see flares (this needs some patience since flares cause an immediate lock). The best time to launch it is at about 1-1,5km from the enemy when it's too late for them to dodge it and most enemies struggle to hit the countermeasures that quickly. There are a few tho and I'm always impressed to find competent enemies. Generally don't launch the missile from more than 2.5km away unless you have a huge altitude advantage on a slow enemy. And for the Su-25Ks weaknesses and what to do with it: It's slow. The only things you can really outrun are A-10s and poor F-86s in a downtier. You have enough flares to evade missiles for a while. But the biggest issue of this plane is its insane heat signature. AIM-9Bs will lock you frontally. This plane may have an "advantage" with it's all-aspect missiles, but trades this off with giving every enemy IR missile the same capability. A lot of times your flares won't safe you from missiles. The trick is to get your throttle down once you expect a missile, so that your engines immediately cool down and make the flares work. This is also recommendable when going into a headon with an A-10 since AIM-9Ls lock you from a lot further away than other usually non-all-aspect IR missiles. Another thing are matchups: You will see a lot of uptiers to 10.3 and a lot of non-premium enemies have flares there. Again: Patience. You can generally head with this plane right into a furball at the start of the match, but it's recommended to cut towards the outmost enemy base first and give it a bit of time. You don't want to face more than 2 enemies at once with this plane if you're alone (which is already pretty decent tho). I also highly recommend to keep the R-60s as long as you can since most players don't expect you to still have them towards the later phases of the game and thus won't pop flares (if they even still have them). The Su-25K is a really good grinder for the Air Tree. I've researched so much stuff with it in the 7 days that I got to play it so far and made an insane amount of SL as well. Is it broken OP? No, it takes a bit of experience to make it properly work in all aspects. Even ground striking in Air RB requires experience with how to position yourself so that you won't get shot down early. The missiles are most definitely very very strong, but they can be countered and imo the AIM-9Ls are good chunk stronger than them due to range.

After dealing with MiG23 R/T 24’s and R60MK’s the SU25K are just free kills without support. The amount of pilots firing 4km hot or 6km cold is astounding. SU25 pilots are fueling my French Grind rn.

It’s really survivable for some reason, while it’s guns are even more lethal than the A10s against low armor targets. Not to mention op as hell unguided missiles. It’s really really strong. I love the S250s

Yea, but what better option u have, if u want to grind the top Russian planes? The Su-7BMK is not a bad plane, and it grinded me most of rank 6, but that was a year ago (with airspawn), and its really showing its age now, + the MiG-21S can replace it in ground RB with its 4 x S-24 with CCIP (but in my experience u better of with the Mi-24 as CAS, than those, hoping to spot something to rocket/bomb before someone starts to hunt u). Speaking of MiG-21S; it shares the same "handicaps" as the MILAN, or the J35A; where u get a rank 7 airframe and engine, but everything else is rank 5 (without countermeasures). I was planning to replace my Su-7s with these, yet i still fly those in Air RB rather than the 25. Maybe when the hype goes down; i start fly the Su-25 too.

From personal experience, Su-25 with S-5Ks In ground RB is not that bad, I would say better than Kh-25 because of the bad laser camera it gets

Absolutey favourite so far. I find it way better then the A-10 both in speed,surviveability and weaponry sooooo much better ( may you ask the weaponry how this might be personal but i've been getting more consistent kills with the laser designator when using it in third person then with the mavericks using them either in cam or TPS ). Tho gotta say 9.7 might be too low but 10.0 is a bit too high at the same time

Did not yet get a single kill with it. My rockets hit but do crits at best, tried pretty much all unguided variants already.

I got the tech tree option and I really like it. R60M's are a little bit of an obscenity at 9.7, there are planes that have no counter play against you, it feels dirty. At the same time matchmaking has you at 10.3 most of the time and F5C is superior to you in every way that matters. Overal, it's fine. I just dislike the rock, paper, scissors matchmaking in ARB above 9.0 or 9.3.

If you're wondering if you should buy it, then listen up because I have 3k hours experience and over 30 rank VII vehicles. You're way better off spending $15-$20 on a talisman for whichever plane you do best in for Rank IV+V and then spend the other $20 on the su25's modifications, then it'll be identical to the premium and you wont have buyers remorse because you spent money on improving already great planes and not some shitty-grinder attacker. Here's the 3 planes that will maximize time spent: Rank IV: Yak-3U, it's nickname is the UFO for good reason Rank V: mig 9L is decent, la-200 kinda stomps and mig-15 still kicks ass. Attackers are always worse than fighters for grinding, if you think the SL booster is worth it, it's not. My best SL grinder is XM-1 with 7 million grinded so far (604), thats even with 45% w/r lmao. Best SL grinder for planes is F-89B but that was when the guns were lasers, 4.2 million (177 matches), 63% w/r. Even my IS-6 has earned me 3.5 million (315 matches), 63% win rate. Tbh just get whatever meta-defining premium there is that fits your playstyle and knowledge level in Air RB for grinding SL. Even my D-13 has made me excellent money as a Rank IV: (125 battles) 3.4 million, with a 56% w/r, 2.4 k/d. That's the smart way to grind a tech tree. Only get the pack/premiums when they're on sale. Either way you're supporting a shitty dev team so you might as well give them less money for what you're really trying to play in the game.
