Manas, we can understand your observations, but with this lovely powerful Torquie Diesel Engine, AMT gearbox is not syncing correctly, Mahindra could have provided a Torque converter at least like petrol. However it totally depends on buyers, driving patterns if they are OK with AMT 🙂👍

Hi i totally agree with what you are saying.. I do also say that the review you gave was good, i also do feel if they could have given us an option to get TC gearbox.. i have given the same feedback to company and showroom about the product.. but now at present it is what it is we can't change so yup i did not had other options but yes i am happy with my choice. Another factor i felt was like there is slight lag withe turbo in low end and it gets spooled up post 2300rpm once you are in that range its a good power this results additional lag + delay in initial power delivery.. they could have better tuned engine at lower rpm.. yes i felt it and agree on this. This car gives powerful feel once you are in its turbo power range between 2500rpm to 4300rpm.. in short mid-range is good with this car and then later with 5th gear is good with top end.. they have done something with gearing as lower gears are short and 5,6th gears are long

Felt the same, recently drove the petrol(tpmfi) nd diesel, both in automatic. I had absolutely no issues with the amt. Had a smile on my face throughout the drive. In fact, strangely, the amt felt like a good tc nd the tc in the petrol felt like a badly tuned amt!!! 😅 it was v slow in shifting gears. Amt diesel was anyday more fun, maybe it was the magic of the 300 nm torque nd not the amt. Haven't driven the manuals, so can't comment. Also, a point to note, is that in petrol tc, it shifts to upper gear at 4900 rpm, even in manual mode with zoom on!!!! Would have liked if it revved atleast to 6000 rpm, atleast in zoom nd in manual mode. It took away from the sporty feeling.

What is the longevity of amt? Which one is better in terms of longevity and maintenance cost TC or AMT?

Has the millage touch 22-24 like nexon?

The only other option is to take control & drive in Manual mode but still you will feel the delay & lag.

We tested in Diesel Auto and hill hold assist was working, but we have not tested for Manual.

@@NativePahadi thank you so much for your response! I live in shillong so a hill hold is a must over here that's why I'm yet to decide whether to go for a diesel manual or automatic based on the hill hold assist feature availability.

You will get hill hold assist in Manual & AMT both.

Driving Diesel Manual Transmission is absolutely fun. However in the AMT manual mode, I have not driven much but yes it was little better compared with in Automatic mode, but still it cannot match with Diesel Manual Transmission. I wish Mahindra could have given the same 6 speed Automatic TC which they have provided in Petrol specs.

Indeed, we felt the same, But I still believe Diesel AMT can give up to 12-13 kmpl in Cities & 15-17 kmpl on Highways.

1.2L Petrol Mpfi Manual & Auto expect 10-13 kmpl in cities, 15-17 kmpl on highways.But best part is you will get Torque Converter Automatic in petrol engine unlike Diesel AMT.
