I'll never forget one of my games on my junior year. our opptents O line completely let our D line trough on purpose becouse their Backs and Qb kept saying how they all ways do all the work so they put through to prove that the play really goes no we're without their line

I would say yes if you can afford it. I play high school football and had a Riddell that was from like 2013-2014 with hard foam padding vs the newer ones with the air pocket style... I had helmet to helmet contact in that that crapy helmet with one of the bigger D-linemen on our team during drills. He rang my bell pretty damn good and that did not feel good AT ALL. Had to take a break for 10-20 minutes from practice... My major problem is that am Canadian and it is a pain in the ass to get football gear that isn't overpriced in USD.

Yes, you should buy your own helmet. Consider it an investment in your long term mental health. What concerns me that there's not one mention of safety ratings in this video. You entirely skipped the consideration of VT and NFL ratings. While even these are not exhaustive, they're the best that the market has at the moment. The focus you place on things such as "what the older players wear" is dangerous. Older kids do not necessarily know better. The entire idea of wearing a football helmet is to keep your head safe. Everything else is secondary or even tertiary. And you should NEVER buy a helmet that's too big. It creates a secondary impact when the helmet is hit. This is one of the largest causes for concussive and continual sub-concussive hits in the NFL. Over inflating IS NOT a solution to improper fit. Bladders are uncomfortable and deflate all the time. Helmets are bought as often as necessary to keep your head safe. If your head grows, but a new helmet. They need to fit properly when purchased-period. I suggest you do a bit of serious research on the topic. Consider taking a look on FB at Concussion Discussion and Awareness Forum. It's a great repository of information regarding which helmet you should consider based on how safe they are. And make sure you take into consideration both linear and rotational impacts when you make your decision on purchasing. Finally, I strongly urge you to reconsider your thoughts on reach Unequal Gyro. It makes a helmet less safe when you use it because it creates an improper fit.
