Where I'm at, tide plays a small factor, but the biggest factor is how much the water is moving. If the current and waves are fast and high, I catch less. Joyce: He's a keeper! Sam: Joyce, the net is empty.
Sam &Joyce, you are the happiest crabby couple! I get so hungry for crabs, but nothing around here compares to fresh catch and cook. Your videos brighten up my day! Thanks for sharing the fun with us. I'm looking forward to the fish you will catch & cook.
I have to laugh. Ever pull Joyce says, thats a keeper. She definitely loves her crabs. You guy got a few but you definitely had to work for them. Personally im going to all wire traps. Im tired of the cloth. Nice days out there together. Tight lines
Mrs Joyce now now you can’t keep every crab you catch 😂😂😂😂. I was laughing so hard bc you said it’s keeper and you don’t want that $1000 fine do you for that little crab, you could fly to Vegas and have all lobster and crab for that $$$😂😂 and the fixins
In Florida there's no size limit but in Mississippi it's 5 inches point to point. It's not hard to make a gauge but I just keep putting it off until I dropped my tape overboard lol. Thanks for Watching
They have been running in that area for about two weeks and then about six weeks ago. They were catching some really big ones. Hopefully you are enjoying your day. Try down by the casino on the pier. Right up from that pier you was on is a covert the water runs under. On the beach side just up against the right side I catch some good flounders. If you want to pm me and I will tell you another spot to go
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoorswhy do you take the shell off before cooking? I'm from Baltimore,MD and I've never seen anyone steam crabs without the shell. How do you know when their done. I know when you cook them with the shell on you know their done when the shell turns orange. But I'm guessing y'all don't like the mustard and/or in the female the mustard and the crab caviar. Is that why you deshell and clean out their innards and their lungs(here we call those the devils) and you know the thought just came to me I don't know why their called that and I'm 57. And Google exist, I'm going to look that up now. 30 crabs that's a nice little haul. I can eat about a dozen. I just recently learned how to truly eat a crab, by watching RU-vid. I use to pull the appendage off then rip off the shell. Then I would try to get as much meat from each leg as I could. Then tear the torso in half and dig out as much meat as possible. I watched a video and that's not how it's done. First you take off the appendage then the shell. Then you get all the innards out. Then turn the crab over and start peeling the bottom shell off. Then you pull off the legs. When you do it that way you get 90 percent of the meat comes out when you pull off the legs. That's another thing that puzzles me the way you cook them I would imagine they fall apart a little as their cooking.
In Florida there's no size limit and in Mississippi you just need a measuring device (I dropped mine overboard) but a gauge is handier. Thanks for Watching
Guys. PLEASE be careful crabbing near the road. We want you both around for a long, long time. Can crabs live in fresh water? The reason I ask is you were catching crabs in alligator territory so can gators live in salt water? If crabs can live in fresh water I am bringing a big truck down there and load it up with crabs to stock our many lakes up here in East Tennessee. You guys are the best. Keep'em coming!!
Yes just so they're 5 inches point to point and no eggs showing. There are times when that's mostly all the commercial crabbers can catch. Thanks for Watching
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors thanks for watching. Im hoping to get out on the water this week. All depends on the seas. I really want to go grouper fishing, which means offshore this time of year. You guys made out good on you trailer. How awesome the water didn't go any higher. You guys will have your work cut out for you, but it could have been worse. Take care guys. If i was closer I'd come over to give you a hand.
Hi Joyce & Sam, Nice batch of crabs there, it'll make a lovely dinner. What's the matter no crabs in Florida? I'm glad you had 3 different spots to try your luck, If at first you don't succeed try, try again. You just make it look like fun. Glad you enjoyed yourselves again. 😄🌴
Up here in Jersey I went yesterday still early but checking to see if they are around 3 babies only brought 2 traps an hour packing up and 2 nd trap had a 7""about another month and they should be running hopefully up here $50 a dozen I would never buy them at that price love your videos remind me of my wife and I we love crabbing
That last spot was Aces! 🦀🦀🦀🦀 You two have nothing to worry about because normal is a setting on a dryer 😂 It is amazing how fast the crabs shred the chicken legs, commercial trot liners will use beef lips for bait because it holds up so well. Another great video 👌💯
I;ve enjoyed watching your videos for several months. My wife and I went crabbing this weekend, and used your cork invention on our crab traps. It works great, we just didn't have any keeper crabs. Thanks for the idea! And thanks for the great videos, keep them coming.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the smaller crabs or #2s are always females and they have the brightly colored claws like fingernail polish. The big males #1s are the beautiful blue claws. I love crabbing. If you pull up a big #1 and he’s on top of a female he is probably protecting her while she loses her shell and the new shell hardens.
That sea wall spot is our go to spot. The bridges are hit or miss, usually only small crabs until later in the summer. The one with metal rails seems to treat us better but is a popular spot for everyone.
We just like to go to different spots from Pascagoula to Waveland. We mostly enjoy the friendly people we meet crabbing. They're always eager to tell us about a new spot. Thanks for y
"it's a keeper-it's a keeper-it's a keeper..." Joyce...someday you're going to get that poor guy pinched by the clam cops with those shorts. Lmao... I still have not tossed out the crab rings. But there's plenty of summer left. Great vid, thanx for posting.
I really enjoy your videos! such a sweet couple. Hopefully one day I'll have a lady who wants to go crabbing and enjoy the catch like y'all do. Meanwhile I just gotta eat the couple dozen I catch every time on my own... :)
Omg you caught so many on the hand traps. I went crabbing in the St. Johns over in Jacksonville and didn't catch anything. I have yet to catch one but your excitement excites me and im going to keep trying
