I am 41 yrs of age and soon to be wearing full dentures both top and bottom; I have couple of questions: *Note: I have asked these questions to my dentist but I want to hear from another. 1. After cleaning my dentures can I leave them in my mouth overnight? 2. Will the strength of my bite stay the same or would it weakened over time? 3. How about my bone mass around my jawline and upper mouth? finally, 4. As I aged further will I have to adjust the size of my dentures?

#1 it is recommended not to sleep with dentures in as this speeds up the process of bone ansorbstion. #2 should stay around the same pressure. #3 bone loss is inevitable. The teeth are anchored into you're Jaw without those roots you're body is thinking "this bone is useless ill just use its properties for other body parts. #4 yes you will have to get adjusted as you age. You also have to replace them around every 8 - 10 years.

@@vitalnewgamer2785 - Good Grief! Like you said it is inevitable...if only what I know then, what I know now; I would not be in this situation. Anyway thank you...I have a lot of thinking and adjusting to do.

@@sofang930 you can always get implants. If I was you I would go for the bottom implants first though as that's the bone that gets affected worse. Fair warning though they are ridiculously expensive. Dentist should have to legally sit you down and talk to you about the pros & cons before you even start such a procedure. It is for life after all. Also in the worst case scenario you can look into getting a bone graph later down the road. Those cost about 1k.

@@sofang930 btw implants won't stop bone absorption but it will slow it down drastically.

@@vitalnewgamer2785 - I ask my dentist about "veneers'" he said,,,not worth it and he recommends false teeth. Anyways he gave me a quotation - just for false teeth (both top and bottom) it would cost me, $5,000 and some coins. Unreal!
