To be fair, if you're having hundreds hour of fun on a server, with the peace of mind the server, and your characters, will not go away anytime soon, if ever, they deserve the $10 tip. I've always been in the mindset to reward quality.
It's a raidlog-sim primarily populated by thirdies who just want to see big numbers because that's all they can understand. Call me what you want, what I said isn't false.
Awesome video as always man! Would love for you to cover the V+ server again. BWL just dropped, and with twow having population issues it would be a great alternative for some people!
I don't play Warmane anymore, heck, I don't even play WoW anymore. One thing I will always know, though, is that Warmane will always be alive and well. I had a fantastic time on the server a few years ago, and met many cool people. Everyone that's still playing on Warmane, enjoy your time!
@@HardDanceShuffler10 haven't had the time to really dive into an MMO again. Uni, work and family eat up all of my time. It's just part of getting older, I guess.
I don't think I'd pick icecrown over lordaeron honestly. Maybe if you have very limited time and just want to casually raid, because leveling is x7 faster and easier to find pugs. But don't expect much of a community there. Lordaeron is the opposite, it's pretty much copy of blizzard with some buffs on bosses, the community is pretty tight and easier to make friends.
@@ZBZIK423 Personally I wouldn't recommend lordaeron. The guy before me highlighted the community as a positive thing, but I experienced the opposite. Hardcore mentality was pretty injurious for me. People expect you to know all the tactics for icecrown citadel, if you make one single mistake they usually kick or offend you. Also without achivements you will find it almost impossible to get raid invitations, even for zero skill required raids like VOA. And my biggest problem (which why i quit playing lordaeron) is that it's really hard to find a guild there, if you don't play as healer or tank. I couldn't find one as a 6.1K unholy dk. I had all the stuff you can get from pug raids, it was hard, it was painful, and I couldn't even experience a HC ICC cause for invitations you must have achivement. I didn't play on icecrown, but if i ever come back to wotlk i'm gonna give it a shot, and never get in touch with lordaeron again. Toxic elitist community, barely even find a pug raid and if you do you won't be able to kill more than 7 bosses at the citadel with 5.8K gearscored players. Minimum requirement for icc10 9 bosses is 5.8-5.9 which is crazy cause at that gear you won't get usable items.
The queue ain't that bad. I play from Brazil on Icecrown and even in a Sunday in the middle of the day when I log in the queue is usually like 300 people. I go to the bathroom or do something around my house and I'm online. That takes less than 5 minutes. I only don't play there anymore because, believe it or not, Shadowlands is way more convenient and plane better for newer players or alta-holics. Chromie time alone makes the experience 1000x better. But to each their own.

my first char on this server was 5 day after launch December 2009. At launch name was "Molten-WoW" but after they combined with Arena Tournament they rename it to Warmane and still have char there even i havent play from 6 years
The thing that I hate the most while playing on the server, and honestly made me give up is that when you PVP you PVP cross realm. On first, this might sound cool right, but what made me quit is the fact that you have to grind your a$$ off on Lorderon or even Icecrown, and when you queue and enter PVP, you mix with players of Blackrock, which is instant 80 server, and character have Relentless out of the box (since it is pvp server). Simply it is not fair =). Btw the devs and GMs does outstanding work banning botters etc, which is 100x times better than Classic WoW =), thumbs up for that for Warmane Team.
I love how stable this server is, but the community (for me) can be pretty hard to tolerate. These players will not invite anyone who cant link achievements for the content they want to clear, and they want you to be over geared for it as well. If you can find a guild, this server is fanstastic.
YES!! someone finally said it! i stopped playing after 2months because people wont let me join raids cause i have no achievements.. but how would i get them if no one brings me at all
@@Huurrdduurr I was thinking the same thing, but even if I got pissed off by the clearly overly pedantic practices I still gave the benefit of the doubt that I was just being a noob or impatient.. And then Ive got in to a Vanilla server (turtle) and it was the complete opposite, hell even random pug boys did runs and carried others while throwing minimal amount of bad names on noobs even when it seemed deserving. I've played for far much longer on warmane, on top Lordaeron 1x and I still cant explain or comprehend the over sweatiness of the community
Thats the point - u need a proper guild to gear up & get achievs - afterwards u dont have problems anymore & soon u have a few ppl that make rnd pugs regularly. Ppl just wanna walk through & make their weekly ID without discord, explaining & wiping...so they make sure everyone cleared it alrdy. Also its no problem to find Alt/Gear up rnd runs - just dont expect to much from random grps, but sometimes its guild alt grps with 1 or 2 bis ppl to help & u clear icc on the first run 😅
Warmane was so successful because of their continuance from Molten-WoW. It was ran like a proper business, making 100s of thousands of dollars every month, until the top guy ran off with the entire DB and money. I used to do DB work for both them and Eternal-WoW back in the day and they were raaaaking in the money. I would not be surprised if those bots are ran by Warmane themselves as you think, they deployed similar tactics back in the day when it was Molten to try to extract as much money as possible from their playerbase.
@@nidhoggcrowley My PC cost more than your car. Also Blizzard simp confirmed, go buy some wow tokens and run bot programs to have the game play for you.
Same here man, I remember running some leveling dungeons and the amount of pure toxicity coming from the people in my groups astounded me. The community is awful
Been on warmane for 1.5 years and I can attest that with was a very fair and accurate depiction of the server. He didn't delve into the active world pvp side which is why I'm here. It's fun and quite balanced.
Ya.. a LOT of shadowmournes, BUT they are accessible to anyone who wants to grind. Make gold, sell it for coins, buy gear. I have 5 toons with BiS because I'm not too lazy to play a video game :)
@@originalsuki too lazy to play a game? No. Too lazy to get a job? Probably. Cope more kid. Warmane is p2w. You skipping the p2w option doesn't make it less pay to win. This is your argument: Just because you can skip the line for 150$ doesn't mean you can't wait in line for 3 months. Solid. Go take a shower bub
I've played Warmane, Turtle-WoW, Mistblade, Netherwing, and WoW-Mania and in all honesty I prefer the last one because it's the most chill experience overall. Then again, I mainly play to destress from the day so there is that.
I mean not really, you just buy your items through a shop rather than doing the actual raid to buy the gear, same amount of P2W just warmane mails you your gear.
@@Super_Burritosounds better tbh. On warmane you pay for the item 100% guarantee on time. On classic you pay for the roll for the item 100% guarantee later when the item shows. Both are p2w but classic also needs subs
i tried twow after playing on warmane exclusively and it was such a different experience, warmane just feels deserted and nowhere near as packed with people even though they have the same amount of people playing
Probably because warmane is full of lvl 80 players that are focused of raiding, not leveling, dalaran is full of players, global too, with multiple players looking for raids and more than enough guilds to join. The point is, warmane is centered around raiding, not lvling nor casual content. For example the guy who made the video mentions a bunch of 5k gs characters that he has... that is nothing for warmane, 5k is more like the starting point, the moment you are able to join icc raids. After 5k gs is when the real warmane experience starts and the grind to full bis, and for that purpose, warmane offers more than enough.
Even with it's flaws, it's still the server I have the best memories and the most MMO playtime in. While there are toxic people on there, I think the amount of great and helpful people greatly outnumber them
They don't. As someone who attempted to play there 3 times I can attest to this fact. Even if you find 'nice people' they will backstab you the moment you wont sell them a stormjewl for 10% of what you wanted for it on the AH.
@@EdyGlockenspiel I found nicer people on the Horde side tbh. It's the Alliance players that tended to backstab me because I refused to give them free gems since I always level Mining/Jewelcrafting and Fishing/Cooking (I was the fish feast guy)
@@ReallyNotTrixYT I played both and both were equally awful pieces of human filth. Try getting ganked inside of Booty Bay by a guy safe spotting from the guards, asking world chat for help and your own faction mocking you and making fun of you for being ganked, on a pvp server.
It's hot garbage with a toxic playbase, but it can be fun if you have a good group to play with because otherwise you can't get that much done seeing as people will want like ICC gear just to do freaking naxx(slight exaggeration, but point still stands). Classic is so much better for your sanity, also i love the Pserver P2w cash shop gets a pass blizz wow token evil corp...the community is funny that way lol.
I wish warmane had more English players on it, not like you and Chakib, all you 2 do it create a language barrier that gets nowhere in progression and leaves raids stuck on a simple boss. -8 year old account Egotism/Crucify Armory me scrub.
My issue with coin shop is that it gives a reason for the owners to reduce the drop rate of important items, and reduce things like SHM shard drop rate, which they 100% did.
even during the Molten era (Cataclysm) people were asking ilvl 370+ to raid BWD and BoT normals which I find very weird. Why ask for ilvls higher than what the raid drops? That part (asking for high gear score) has always been the case.
Yo i remember the days on Eternal that was so much fun, it was a small community. Once the server had a ddos attack and never came online again. I moved to Molten wow which was all good until they also had some fallout with partners and money being stolen every player lost their characters which they did try their best to help the playerbase once they were back up and running as Warmane but it just never felt the same and lots of contacts were lost. Thats why i prefer playing on official servers.
You forgot to mention that every single pug has at least 5 items reserved, community is maybe 20% english speaking and world PVP is toxic af. And even when you do raid with random people you never finish the raid because none of the people who join know what they're doing. Last 2 years on Warmane were depressing.
This is easy to solve... find a guild... MMOs are social games especially old ones, pugs are shitholes, everyone knows that, but the game is not meant for pugs especially when we talk about raiding, this is why raid finder was not a thing until much later.
I only raid probably twice a month, Most of my time is spent on farming, collecting some items i think are cool that i saw in youtube, or leveling an alt, rarely do pvp though but sometimes do some pvp with my brother and some friends, It's like a sandbox and I enjoy it. Never seen a both though
if wotlk era does not happen i probs will hop on warmane have not played in a long time and decided to check my toon on it, it was renamed for some reason but it was resolved easly by mods, im kinda tierd of the gerbil wheel run blizzard is doing with cata classic and soon probably legion classic, sure warmane is p2w but so are the blizzard servers, not as obvious and open about it but it 100% is, i just want to have an actual endgame sure i wont be playing 24/7 but it feels nice knowing you can actually finish it, i play classic era and and sure want to have wotlk era to play on
Last time I leveled I got corpsecamped outside Warsong Hold for five hours. Guy was a level 70 in full TBC BiS including Warglaives. He straight up rizzed on me seeing how I was a level 68 Enhancement Shaman with Vanilla greens.
I’m lost and really want to play wow in general don’t really care what expansions, I just wanna an alive server with longevity that isn’t warmane (got camped by 2 rogues for 2 days don’t know how would log on the next day they are still there)
As someone who has a 11 year old account and has played on and off for years I'd suggest to not play on toxicrown/donorcrown where you can even gear up just with vote points, no need to pay, buy things. If you want the real WOTLK experience with players who behave like actual people and form communities, guilds that are several years old and still alive and running, roll on Lordaeron. The difference is night and day, I'm not exaggerating. I had no idea I can play wotlk this much stress free and enjoy it until I switched realms. Funny thing is the actual PVE, PVP elitist, tryhard jerks who don't even say "Hello" in RDF like in retail, let alone have conversations, are on Icecrown. Lord has the people that actually also enjoy leveling, considering it's supposed to be the "tryhard" realm with it's rates.
The thing with warmane compared to stormforge when comes to population is Warmane being 3.3.5 is one continent bigger than stormforge 2.4.3 When on warmane site shows 6 k people online, you have full av,full wg,people anywhere you go,dalaran full of people, hundreds of people looking for different raids, any northrend leveling zone is full of people... When stormforge site says 10 k people online , you have dead chat , cant find single group for nothing,no bg's,empty leveling zones... My guess would be stormforge is faking population big time. When server says 10.000 players online, there is actually 2 k people. So id say even if warmane is lying about its population , there's a feeling like there are actually 6.000-12.000 people because at ANY given point you can find group for anything you want Back in the days when warmane had TBC and population of 8.000 people, bg's were full of people . I will remember until the day i die, it was 5AM , 4 AV's going on at the same time. The moment you finish one,you queue for another and you get instant inv . And those were not half full av's, they were full of people. It was like that every single day. Other BG's were also full of people ,instant invite for any bg you queue up. Dungeons,HC's,attunements, group quests...24/7 activity, anything you want. And now you have stormforge, 6-10 k players online, you cant find anyone, anywhere. Feenix wow (2.4.3) had population of 3.000 to 4.500 players. It was the same case as warmane TBC , any activity you want, anytime you want , you can get it. Alpha wow 2.4.3 (long time ago) same case as feenix . 4.000 players online,bg's and hc's 24/7
Hamster you forgot to mention PvP which is unplayable because of all the bought gear. 80% of PvP classes are Paladin / Warrior / DK with Shadowmourne and a couple of healers to make up the numbers. I have played an AB in which there were 15 players with a Shadowmourne, I did count them... because I had the time to - was dead after 5sek each time my defensive CDs run out. Pug raids are a "pain" as you mentioned when it comes to GS requirements and there are far more toxic-egoistic people on the server then you think / have mentioned. Tanking in dungeons in general is a terrible experience, because of the DPS in the group thinking they can "take on the entire world". They just do whatever they want, I would call it selfish and disrespectful. While leveling your character it is not uncommon to get spawn killed by some random max lvl player in most of the zones, especially in borean tundra and howling fjords (starting areas). Unfortunately and I mean unfortunately it is the most "alive and reliable" wotlk server out there.
I was trying to find some kind of a comment or video that addresses this. I started playing recently and I want to get deeper into but almost everyone is geared to the gills when it comes to PvP. How is someone supposed to have a high arena rating for Wrathful without spending money is beyond me.
I am playing warmane mists of pandaria but i dont know how to start a campaign,i also had a few problems but that doesnt matter.I just dont know how to start a campaign, can someone help?
I believe the main reason why this server can be toxic is because there are so much lvl 80s that they are bored and jsut go ganking in Tanaris and STV. I have played dungeons with the RDF and people are usually supportive if you don't know the dungeons really well as long so you try to learn
Yeah warmane is not the server if you're a noob starting. Even if you go past the horrible levelling experience (especially on lordareon since it's 1x), you won't ever see the endgame as they always require absurd gs (i've seen people asking for 8k lmao) and "link achiev fall of the lich king". Warmane is fun if you have an established character (that can basically feed alts). Or if you have a guild made of friends playing there that are actually enough in numbers to run endgame. Otherwise forget it. You won't go far if you're a completely new dude that simply wants to try wrath. They don't care about it because they have always full servers+Q times but the perfect solution would be to at least make the server PVE only for characters below level 80 (unless they chose to flag themselves for it, if you're into getting ganked hey, be my guest). That would at least alleviate that issue, especially on lordareon. You would still have the endgame "link achiev" issue, but then you can maybe join a guild that does carry raids once a week or something to get noobs geared.
@@davidepannone6021 they should just open a PVE server. that would be awesome. I just started playing on warmane a month ago with some friends that have never played wow. they love it.. except for being camped by geared 80s for no reason other then they think its funny.
I had fun in iceclown realm but imho for anyone who really wants to enjoy wotlk closer to what it was meant to be, Lordaeron was the best 5 years ago. It used to be really hard, most people were still figuring stuff out and only a handful of people managed to do LOD weekly. The quality of the Lordaeron community is by far the better choice. On iceclown people will pull random BS and disapear into the void since it's easy to screw others and create a new account, they'll be raiding within a week. No real sense of community or accomplishment, everyone and their grandmother are bis. If they can't get there, they'll buy the gear. Global there asks for 6k GS to do RS25 because they lack skill to do proper mechanics. On Lordaeron with the right community members you will find 5.5gs ppl running RS25 flawlessly. As someone new to wow, if I really want to learn a class, spec, fight mechanics, the right people in Lordaeron are the best to learn. But beware, it's a close tight community, don't expect people to roll over. They will only help the ones they can trust.
I have played on warmane as my first WoW game ever as my friend invtied me and i must say.. compared to the others i have played on later on, warmane was literally the best and had alot from my back that i didnt pay attention to, and i would go anywhere on the map literally even the most abandoned places that none goes for years. and still find players there doing stuff, i am so glad someone finally thanked Warmane on youtube and gave his feedback on it as i really love that server and wish it long lasts with my 5 charcters +6k gs there hahaha the only issue is there are many toxic players though and the insane demands of GS unless u have a guild haha
icecrown kind of blows for a new account, you hit level 15 go to buy some tank gear off the AH to level fast with dungeon finder getting 7x the xp then bam! All them level 10-15 gears are 200+ gold each lol. I love the server so far don't let the AH drive you away, they have higher drop % for items so after a few dungeons you'll be geared. You can even buy naked 80's for $30 if you want. I don't mind it in this game and I'll even support that. What bliz does is just wrong. They create their games for bots and gold pushers now that's almost the only way you can play is if you buy 3rd party gold to be able to buy shit in a raid. I'd rather spend that money on a level 80 and jump right into raiding. I'm sure warmane has GDKP's but I'm in a guild that doesn't do that and will let me raid. Also it really doesn't matter on warmane because you can just buy the gear from them if you really want. It's about $1 - $23 an item but you'd be spending about that in a GDKP in classic just to still have to bid on items. You can also sell those toons after you get sick of playing them and get some more coins to buy other things.
4:39 they are not bots. Every player has 2-3 chars online from different accounts who are premium. This is why chars in Dalaran standing at one place without moving. I always parking one high gs toon for pvp when im farming or leveling.
warmane was fun, until you reach 80 and realise why a load of players are stuck at a certain GS and resort to buying gear, Players are stuck because some people in raids, infact so many people in raids don't even know the tactics even after multiple minutes of explaining and multiple tries, people leave after 1/2 wipes even on icc10n... , my best experience on warmane was definitely the frostmourne server, a progressive wotlk server.. i had so much fun on there doing the raids, icecrown is just icc / toc and VoA, nobody does ulduar, nobody does naxx (except for challenge runs that require 6.2GS in groups) would be nice if they had timewalking in there to make older raids doable, i'd definitely stick to icecrown then ;p
I stopped playing retail in june 2016 and went to warmane and i'm playing here on dialy basis. Many times people said that Warmane will be dead server, look back i need to laugh at these doomsayers yelling "warmane is declining after moltdown it will be dead in few years, Classic wow will kill warmane, classic wrath will kill warmane" Few weeks ago, i just talked like with one chinese guy which said that many chinese players are now moving to warmane after blizzard shut down chinese realms. When i asked how much he said that just only from his realm he met like 100 people on warmane icecrown. So i guess warmane will be still around in the future.
It was a GTS-T but nah I sold it, prices got so crazy I got a good deal for it and moved on. Bought a 3rd gen Mr2 and I'm enjoying that now with the limited amount of time I have these days

The server is the most toxic server i have ever experienced,on any expansion or private server. The numbers on the site are just so fake....there are times when there are 12k players on icecrown and maybe 5+ k on the other realms and even if its crossrealm bg you still stay 5-6 minutes for a que to pop (on alliance i waited 8-10 minutes) . Sometimes you see people staying in the same spot in dalaran for DAYS . And not to mention the char trade system which in my personal opinion is just bad. Oh and good luck leveling ,people on this server will camp people 30-40 levels under them and just farm them and feel like they are heroes, thats not world pvp thats just stupid.

The end result is that you could start a fresh account, open your wallet and be running ICC or arena within the day.
i wanted to try wrath and really wanted to do ulduar to see why it is so regarded BUT... the only raids in pugs i see is ICC every day all day. 6k+ gearscore etc... and its pay to win. so i left.
i was a warmane nay sayer due to its cash shop, then i had no other thing to play and my friend asked me to play there, and so i started to play there out of curiosity and man im amazed how they manage to ban RMTs, bots, etc. i was still disgusted by the cash shop, but the longer i play i realised with that fast progression like exp, reps, etc, its so freakin easy to catch up with people. sure getting into raids on my first toon was harder, but the key was finding the same progressing people , and that was easy enough. the only downside for me is that even horde has more population but the people arent that much of pvp enthusiasts, i got ganked multiple times during leveling and people were rarely keen to help. but when i switch to alliance, man they're so eager to help u with ganking problems. now im stuck in alliance with the heart of the horde😅 they're making new realm so i guess it worth to try aswell
P2W does not matter you can just ignore it because it is easy to get geared if you learn the game and find the proper guilds. Also... yhea alliance are more into PVP the reason of it is because they have a massive advantage because of their racial skills, specially if we look at the humans racial that removes any cc, because that means you have the PVP trinket as a racial and can use doble pve trinkets, wich means massive damage boost. To compare: DBW hc gives: 1400 atk power for 30 sec. 1.45 min cd STS hc gives: 1500 atk power for 15 sec. 45 sec. Cooldown Orc racial gives: 322 atk power for 15 sec. 2min cooldown So. Humans can use both STS and DBW because they can take off cc with their racial, but Orcs have to use the pvp trinket. We are basically comparing 1400 atk power buff from trinket vs 322 atk power buff from orc racial Again, it is a massive advantage from humans.
