I'm a serial entrepreneur who has owned a number of businesses. When I bought my first business in 2008 (a franchise, which I still own), I was a VP and kept my job for a little over a year before I quit. I'm a risk taker but I wouldn't quit my job right out the gate. It took 10 years for my business income to catch up with my VP income. That's a long time.

Zach I heard you mention in another video that you choose to pay yourself 5k per month but your actually making 40k + in book keeping. Please explain what happens to the rest of that income. I understand some goes to taxes and business expenses but what happens to the rest? I’m worried book keeping might not be as lucrative as I thought if those are the ratios w take home pay.

I’m ready to start and already have one nonprofit bookkeeping client but not sure if i should just stick to that niche. I’m a recently laid off accounting analyst but as CPA have about 50 tax clients including 4 nonprofit 990 forms. Trying to wrap up my qb certification this week. Your videos have been eye-opening. What are your recommendations for a website presence? I used to have a website years ago but let it go.

What would you recommend if we’re working a day job where we can’t answer phone calls, and prospects are calling us during the day? Is it appropriate to call them back later in the evening, even if they didn’t leave a voicemail?

Honestly, most business owners are so busy during the day that after hours phone calls are just fine. Try calling them at 5PM as soon as you leave work or at 8AM before you start work
