Some people say that you should never refrigerate tomatoes. Is this really true? Is 90°F really better for a tomato than 37°F? And if so, for how long? To answer these questions, Daniel Gritzer set up a series of experiments that spanned an entire summer and included literally hundreds upon hundreds of tomatoes of different sources, varieties, and quality and ripeness levels, and recruited a small army of blind-tasters to evaluate the results.
