After 2.5 years and one of the first families to Travel Australia Full Time in a Truck we thought we should put our experience to use and share it with you.
We give you a Long Term Review summary of our Iveco Daily 4x4, our positive and negative experiences for travelling Australia in a light truck plus a quick walk around of the truck in it's final moments before being sold.
We hope this is useful if you are trying to decide on your tow vehicle for caravanning around Australia, or if you're in the beginning stages of setting up your rig. If you have any other questions, leave them in the comments!

Thanks for sharing your journey! I watched from the start with your truck in the Stockten Beach sand hills! Because of your video it changed my whole thinking of what a truck can do so I sold my brand new dual cab Ute and bought a Mitsubishi Canter 4x4! Thank you again I met you at the Pink Lake on Yorke Peninsula nice to meet you in person you were as honest and friendly in real life! Enjoy your new journey in life because your last one was great! Very interesting even though I missed the start. I did get to hear your thoughts on the Iveco daily which I was looking forward to. It's interesting you weren't overly concerned with its reliability saying most vehicles can have issues. I've seen many on you tube have vehicle issues even needing to get on the tilt truck so I would probably agree. Also I was curious for your thoughts on the Iveco's good points and shortcomings. I have enjoyed watching your travels and where you have taken the truck and van. We did meet you briefly in the Bungles Walardi campground early August last year. We both were amazed at the red tailed black cockatoos in the campground. Good luck and safe travels with new adventures.

We have just finished our first trip in our Iveco 4x4. Found it to be comfortable and all that extra room...we have stayed with a GVM of 4495kg. You are correct it is very important that the tow vehicle is heavier than what you are towing. We have also set up our Iveco for solo trips without the van. Have been watching your travels overseas, amazing places you have visited. Are you going to do any videos?

Hi Susan! Firstly thanks for following and commenting (I do recognise your name :) ) , so glad you have found your Iveco comfy and lots of room and had a great first trip! Also setting up to go solo is the best! We loved having the option. Overseas is amazing, glad your enjoying them on socials! Videos will be coming to RU-vid very soon, just want to wrap up Aus with a couple of info vids first, but we can't wait to start sharing them!

1st, Yay!. seriously though, good overview. I have a daily exactly the same as yours. What spares would you definitely take touring next time.?( iveco specific.) Also, what 37's do you recommend ? Thanks for a great series.

Hi Shane, your welcome! We carried a spare alternator just in case, because we relied on it heavily for our power system. I would consider a uni-joint, and fuses of course. It really depends how far away from towns you are headed, and how much crap you want to lug around with you! A wheel nut & bolt would be good also, but you may never need them. I would definitely also carry the specific IVECO lubricants and filters for servicing, as they are quite specific. We would just give them to the mechanic conducting the service. We have had Black Bear 37" MT's and they were good, we got about 40k out of them, and then we moved to Federal Xplorer R/T's which we had another 35k out of before we sold the truck, they were looking a bit thin by then. We managed to never have a puncture or flat, and never had to change a tyre in our 2.5 years. So glad to have you along for the ride, glad you enjoyed it. Hope to have you continue along for adventures overseas!

Hey Dan and Amanda, thanks for the journey around Aus, jave watched fron the beginning. Two questions: 1. Dan, you mentioned it being under powered and watching all the vids that is still a concern, would that be enough to make you look at something else e.g. RAM 2500, F250 ETC. 2. You mentioned in your Fraser video that travel trucks did your set up. I know you guys have deals with different providers, do you have a deal with them at all that I have missed? Thanks for sharing your journey!

Hi Mate, Thanks for watching :) 1. Possibly, but there are a lot of downsides to all those other vehicles too. There's no perfect vehicle. 2. We don't have any arrangements with them sorry! They are just good operators.
