We called them Wet and Wavy braids or human braids here in NYC. I tried to get this style about 5 years ago. The stylist refused bc she said it took too long. Everyone was getting crochet braids at the time. So I guess it wasn't financially worth it for her.
The price was 50.00 when it first came out about 25 years ago and it don't take that long we only braiding half way. So the price is 75 in Rhode island
@@anikasway1955 $75? A price like that in Atlanta is a kitchen stylist not even a professional They charge you to help pay their booth’s fee’s NOT for pure talent
@@MsWhocares14 no pick and drop is the name Africans gave it i assume somewhere in West Africa bcs I'm Nigerian just the way we have stykes called bob marley , all back (cornrows), ghana weaving, okuku and so on
@@ley5230 that's cool. I just pointed out she's using a different name because it's called something different where she's from. There's a big Nigerian community in u.k. so that probably is why also
Why are yall correcting her? She told you what they called it when she was young. She's from Brittain, so it's not that she's wrong about the name (Pick n drop vs. wet and wavy)...it's that they called it something else.
Wow...I don't know how you girls have so much patience to sit in the chair for all that time to have all that done to your hair....I'd so be rock'n the GI Jane cut!! ❤❤
