If you're doing big water surf I would definitely bailess You doing back bays and light work a bail is fine when I break out the 10ft rod the bailess is a must
I just converted a Mitchell 302 and have a Penn 704 on deck. When I spot a kit for a Penn 710 I'm going to grab it. I beach cast in Puget Sound for salmon using a 12 foot rod, 2 to 3 ounce darts, and 10 pound test in the 710.
My cousin is in the service and has been to his share of military bases, but he said that Fort Dix in Jersey was his favorite because of the fishing lol
