How awesome would it be if every person who has had to use a firearm in self defense and they and or their family suffered hearing or vision loss/impairments because of it, got together and filed a suit against the ATF or whomever it would need to be for unnecessarily/unlawfully causing their injuries!

For anyone who has ever fired a firearm in close quarters and in doors, you will agree that suppressors are great for home defense. Being partially deaf because of CQB gunfire, I wish that I had been able to use a suppressor back then.

I think if you're discharging your weapon in your home on one occasion you're not going to damage your hearing and if you have to do it more than once then you're living in the wrong place 😂😂

I have lights, red dot silencer and a sling. I want my gun to be as effective as possible. Not only do silencers lower the sound but also the flash coming from the gun. Making it less likely to cause temporary blindness. Lights let me better identify the possible threat and a red dot sight lets me be more accurate and minimize the chance of missing and unintentionally injure someone else.

If your dog isn’t your first responder, you’re raising an overgrown rat. Around 8months my Lycan went berserker 1 night. Ripping down my curtains, clawing the door, growling, smashing into the door etc. I awoke to this fkn terrified thinking cujo was in my room. Then within a split second a voice reminded me “that’s _YOUR_ fkn dog,” so I jumped up grabbing my Sleeping-Rifle next to me while looking at him. He turned his head towards me then stopped growling but he immediately looked back outside. I run to the window- To the side of it technically. I peep out, relax and laugh. The guy who broke through the patio was running across the street, and were talking running for his life. I walk out, let my Lycan come survey the area- so he’d cam down- and locked the patio door. He got a steak, chicken & rice the next night. Me, I got to pet & appreciate I had a King GSD as a best friend while he ate. If he even barks, my gun gets drawn- he growls, he’ll only bark to get my attention.

Then again, still better then what we have here in Australia 😂, if you defend yourself with a bat your basically done....charged with assault and successfully sued by the invaders. Aussie Gov legitamently expects you to evacuate your house and leave with your family and return when they are done pilfering.

you will 1,000% still suffer hearing loss, even if it didn't seem that loud at the time. Your ear still experienced the physical impact of those sound waves, whether or not you perceived the shot's full volume. and the psychological effects on multiple intruders hearing you take down one of them feels a lot like the whole racking a shotgun myth. just run a suppressor, dammit. Would love to run a can but not until the ATF theft tax is dropped.

Why .300blk over 5.56 I’ve read mixed opinions on both sides I’m curious as to what everyone else thinks

If I didn't live in anti-gun Illinois I would have silencer on ALL of my home defense guns(I wouldn't be able to buy them all at once, but, over time they would all acquire one). All 3 of them.

Thieves break in when no one is home so they can steal stuff - they do not want a confrontation. Anyone breaking in when people are home is looking to cause harm.

Suppressors are awesome, however, we can't get any nfa items in NJ... 😞

I think sbrs and suppressors shouldn't be nfa items I mean after all, how many times in a mass shooting or self defense or murder case is a sbr or suppressor is used. It's mainly pistols. Yet they made it easier to get those. I mean sbrs are great for a truck gun or home defense gun or even a every range day gun especially if your a 5'6 lean male, us short guys need short rifles 😂
