When training shoulders, understand where you are intending to place tension. If you grip the handles too close, you will drive more load through the joints and triceps rather than through the delts.
Don't over reach at the top or you will loose stability in the scapula, comprimising form.

So even for shoulder exercise, I need to puff up my chest and lock my shoulder blades?

Not really. But dumbell presses and babell presses each have different benefits so if you have enough time you should do both , but with the hamner strength machine you get some of the benefits of BOTH. So if you only have time for one pressing movement then you should do the hammer strength machine
