Pausing the weight in the upward position is the REAL key. Holding the contraction & squeezing it, is the ideal part of these moves...

@kevinschudy7979 wouldn't the eccentric movement cause the most damage, therefore stimulating the most growth. Definitely need the pause and squeeze, but on the negative motion, slow and controlled I would think would be key to get that stretch and micro tearing.

Wow the execution is so perfect. I have been training for ages following a rotation of exercise I chose by experience but you came up with new variations I have never seen before. I will include some of them into mine and share some feedback after 4-6 weeks !

I hurt my R shoulder doing pushups last week. So I’m laying off pushups for a while. Do you have an alternative to pushups I could do meanwhile? Thx! - I just did this video and it didn’t bother my shoulder, but pushups I get a sharp pain ,

For me a light warm up set with 1/2 - 2/3 w/o wt helps warm up these old worn out shoulders and seem to prevent further HELL. There is so much newer data (to me) on sets like one hard set to full failure is enough or two to three or more sets to partial failure is best, TMI. What is your personal experience and we all can respond better to mixing it up every few weeks or so but it can be so confusing.

nice w/o but please correct me if wrong as I have always thought with any type of shrug its is best to hold the contraction at upper limit for 2-3 seconds then slowly lower wt. It seems to be good for my traps (which are I think naturally larger) but aside from that what is the best method? Thanks
