Who needs speedy as long as you got an old harley :D I don't know why people think it's just the Japanese who make crazy machines, i think this one is pretty cool. I've seen much worse come out of America... like OCC ahahaha
Back in the early 70's and thru the early 80's most of us had choppers. We had a lot of sayings back then, i'd rather push my Harley than ride a boat anchor. Some take drugs, some drink bottles, I solve my problems by twisting throttles. 50 other things. We all had to have kick start bikes, I had a 71 FLH and first thing was to put a kick start on it. But i'm 61 now and like my push button kicker!
I love open primaries I watch a guy one day , get his pants tore off, and almost his leg. Another had all four fingers of his right hand tore off. He lived another 20 years, however I often wondered, when he tried to do something, if he still thought open primaries were cool?
Serious question from a non-biker: How is this preferable to an electric start? Is it a nostalgia thing? Or are there actual advantages to a kickstart?
Harry Hagan because he didn't know what he was doing. it looked like he was only getting like 80 degrees of travel on each kick. and his carb probably wasn't as well tuned as I could have been.
Keep all power off. Kick it at least 6×'s get all the oil running through it. Then turn the ignition on 3 shots of fuel. Choke it bigtime. Get the kicker to its highest point & kick it. Should fire on 2nd or 3rd kick
