I’m sorry to hear that. Breaks my heart when one off bikes disappear just like that. However, Jay built this chopper from a burned bike, was it totally destroyed?

Oh yeah. Both bikes were full of gas, a riding lawnmower, 2 push mowers a Mini Van and several Full Gas cans were in the barn at the time. I was at work, 12 hour shifts, when my wife calls me to explain the barn is on fire. I worked just off a main Interstate and beat feet home and could See the black smoke from the fire from the highway. Quite the traumatic experience. All my kids were safe and nobody got hurt. Didn't take the house but it was Ugly.

The roads are salty here in UK. I thought it wouldn’t be nice to ask anyone to ride a bike like this in that weather. But we’re planning a choppers ride out and you’ll definitely see and hear it in action when the weather is right. 😃

@@tomboyabit yea the old BSA I got the engine and frame from one guy and the rest I scavenged parts here and there. It had a Harley springer front end like yours, a coffin tank the old gothic cross break light.. I never had it legal for the road but it sure was fun riding the dirt roads around my area.. took a year to build it and I got a few months out of riding it before I sold it to get my sporty chopper. I believe I was maybe 20 yrs old..21 had my first Harley.. ✌️

@@tomboyabit They were good days, they were the counterculture years, A lot changed in society in the west, We inherited a broken world and we tried to fix it with acceptance of difference, Chops symbolised part of this.

@@tomboyabit Me, i have done all the metalwork and friends of mine painted it. Its been in my possession around 19 yrs now and i have rebuilded it before. Round 3 is going on at the moment.

Impressive isn’t it? Love to see the old craft and skills been passed from generation to generation. 😃

I feel the same. But was assured it’s super stable. Would be interesting to ride it full throttle. However, I believe only one who knows a bike like this very well, can trust to do so.

I’m trying. But it’s been bellow zero lately and roads are white of salt. I don’t want to take bikes like this even for a quick spin. But seems like next week I’ll go riding. Promise to fit my GoPros on 👊

I think it’s super cool too! Just filmed another young guy following his fathers steps and we had a long conversation how he learned building bikes, like learned to walk. For us (me too, learning now everything from scratch) it seems an absolute gift, they’ve been given.
