Love the music as the car rebuilds. It seems like Arnie is watching a striptease as the car comes to shape. Very intimate & emotional…… fucking awesome! We need a part 2
Part two, where an unsuspecting passer-by falls in love with a hunk of metal that used to be a car. Suddenly the hunk expands, wrapping itself around the man. Eating him alive, then eating more men. Out of pure rage of what had happened to her. How everyone is a shitter. And the ones who aren't, die in the end. So revenge is all she has left. But then, when eating a certain wealthy South-African individual, she changes her mind, for she sees a chance. So she spits him out again, and manipulates him into building a rocket that eventually launches her into orbit. But not without a dummy man inside of her. So again, she is fuelled by rage. Because now there is a man inside of her, that she cannot manipulate, or eat. But the rage makes her so hot, and fury-ous, that she causes global warming, causing the sea level to rise. For her final plan is to murder all men, and women, on the earth below her. Her revenge will be slow, but it will arrive at last... Something like that? ;)
If I remember correctly, they removed the engine and put in hydraulics that pulled the car frame inwards, then those scenes were played in reverse for the fixing scenes.
Coolest scene ever! Harlem Nocturne, must be the ultimate for this scene. But let's hand it to Buddy and crew. It would take a LOT of force to do the damage they did. They did all that with bats etc!
It truly was possessed by a Demon. How? I'm not sure. What is this Demon Spirit's name? Again: I'm not sure, but it seems to love the name Christine, so this Demon Entity must have Female characteristics. It hates everyone, except for the Gentleman that first owned her...and young Arnie Cunningham. "Christine" even takes a little time to mourn over Arnie, after he's killed by a fatal stab to the gut by a big piece of glass. Christine:The most dreaded Car ever heard of, and the most feared Vehicle on the Road. That is... until the movie "Maximum Overdrive came out a few years later.
In the book it was possessed by the ghost of its original owner. However, they definitely made the right decision in changing that for the movie. The car has its own spirit and consciousness. It's much better that way.
Here's how that was done. The effects crew basically built a flexible plastic version of the car. Inside, they created a vacuum, which caused it to implode. Then they jst ran the film backwards.
Another one of Stephen King’s classic tales. Not to sound sensitive, but the one sad thing about this story was that even though Christine helped Arnie get back at all the people in his life who pushed him around, it was ultimately at the expense of Arnie losing his soul.
I saw this same car for sale going to work in someone's driveway (same color ) and it was for sale. Knowing my luck, I would have another Christine on my hands if I bought it!
@@david.m.304 Yeah, they had to go back and add the shots of Christine repairing herself, so there's some continuity errors with the sequence, but I love it regardless.🙂
