I love the new intro, the previous was definitely too long 😀and I always fast forwarded it. The old one, previous to the long one was also good, but the new one is the best, Geo! 🙂 cheers, Bart of traditional shaving with bartgee
It's always a bloodbath when i crack open a new blade! Two shaves later it's a very beautiful and enjoyable shave... im gonna try this on my next blade hope it works! Thanks geo
The old intro was good as well, just to see and learn a bit about you. But for the impatient ones under us, this one will do! Doesn’t affect the content of your videos that all are fantastic to watch!!
I cork my blades occasionally and I get a smoother shave. As for longevity I don't go past two shaves with any blade. Intro was great, keep it up Geo 👍
I was wondering if you could get more than 2 shaves with a cork, kinda thought I was wasting blades. I had a butterfly razor, didn't know if it was me or the Walmart special. Lol
I was meaning to comment on your recent video in regards. This is great information to know. And so simple I'm thinking to myself why didn't I think of that? ... Lol. Before I would handle the super sharp razor blades by simply using them on very mild razors for a couple of uses. And then use them on my more aggressive razors I prefer. And the intro is much better now. Wasn't feeling the one you replaced it with. I actually like the original best. After so many years using it it's kind of a trademark. Part of your channels identity. Thanks for all you do. Have a peaceful day!
interesting subject ! and for the intro , I love it but the previous one for me is more nice with that background music and those beautiful cut scenes with dumbbells and suits and ... 😊❤️
I think the new, shorter intro is fine. I found the results interesting and am looking forward to seeing if it affects longevity at all. Thanks for the video. I hope you have a great week!
Hello Geo, I could be mistaken, I haven’t looked back at all the prior videos, but it seems consistent with what I’ve watched, when you do a comparison shave left & right side of face, your right side gets the better shave. I’m not implying nor do I think you’re intentionally stacking the results to favor one over the other, I’m wondering if the results could be shaving technique, perhaps a little more subconscious pressure applied on right handed side vs a little less subconscious pressure with backhand or left handed side. Kindest Regards Paul H
I just received a RR single edge and feather professional blades. I loved Gem single edge in my MMCC and always cork it. I think I need I need to cork the feather AC blades because it wasn't very pleasant. Thanks for this.
Hi Geo- Great shave and razor blade test; thank you! A light run on the cork with a new blade does make a difference to me. It definitely smooths the edge on a Feather blade. I like the new, shorter (sorry!) intro. A bit softer on the music and it’s good to go! Enjoy the weekend ahead. Be safe and be well. All the best, Geo!
Wery short intro 😊 Maybe thats why “Derby” and “Shark” blades feels to rough for my face. I’ll try Korking, instead of getting rid of those blades. Thanks for the tip. 👍🏻
Loved the intro, signore! Also, I'm happy for the fact that you listen to the audience. Never heard about corking, thank you for the insight, I'm always learning something new from you. Keep it up!
Howdy Geo! Your channel your intro. I like both of them. I’ve been corking my blades since I saw Mark’s (aka Sharpologist) vintage video on the subject. I get 3 quality face/dome shaves from my Personna Lab Blues (the only blade I use). Great experiment. 👊🏼🤠
I love the music 🎸 I love the bang ⚡️ I love 9 Geo’s clearing the runways so we can see the sideburns 😂 Love the oil painting geo brushing the lather 👍🏼 And I love the sword sound at the beginning 🗡 Damn I sound like a geofanboy lol…
Great as always!! Well-- I've been running cold water on my razors as you had recommended with fantastic results.... so-- I'm gonna cork away!! Ps.... BRING BACK THE INDESTRUCTIBOWL!!!! 👍
The new intro is great, you can leave another second the sword sound effect at the beginning, it's too short now 😅 now we need a new outro, maybe with the Tesla, who knows 👍
New intro is way better and really cool. As for the corking... after reading that people strop new blades over their hand palms I tried same. Can actually make a not so good blade a little bit nicer (less rough). Wouldn't recommend it for the feather tho. Best recipe for a smooth shave tho I guess is still a good lather that had enough time to soften the hair.
Brilliant Intro keep the music or make it HEAVIER! Bwahaha! Brilliant Video You’re the Myth Buster of wet shaving. Here’s a myth for you to solve… Mitchel’s Wool Fat Soap. Some guys have no problem getting it to lather. (I’m in that camp, and I still really haven't mastered the art of lathering yet.) Other guys have to soak it for 24 HRs to get it to bloom and all kinds of other crazy things. I do believe what they are saying, but I’ve never seen an answer as to why. The goal would be to find someone with a “good puck”, and another person with a “bad puck” and have them swap. Does the good puck go bad? Does the bad puck become good? Is hard water the culprit? How are we ever going to know!?!
Shorter intro seems better. Will have to try corking my new blades and very much appreciate your suggestions on how to improve the shave and your honest reviews of new shaving gear.
I'm going to buy some corks and try this (as I don't drink at all). Thanks for the videos, Geo! I've noticed myself with a few blades (Perma-Sharp, Kai, and Feather) that the first shave is quite rough to me and I get cut up a bit, but the second and third shaves are extremely buttery smooth and effortless, so I'm willing to try this. I'm always learning so much from you! Thanks a bundle! 🙂
UPDATE: So I got my corks the other day and just tested this method with a brand-new Kai razorblade using a Bevel razor, and overall...I pretty much had a smooth, "nickless" shave! I may have had a touch weeper in like two spots, but NOTHING like I usually get from a Kai blade on my first go! You're onto something, Geo!!!!! I am going to try this with another blade that I am on my second shave with for the next time, but I think this method will help a lot of people and make their shaving experiences even better! Great advice and something I never would have discovered without your help!!!! Thanks so much, Geo!!!!! 😊
Hey Geo, greetings from Canada, the new intro is fine with me. Also I hope that the Josh winery is going to send you a case of wine for the promo. If not try using the cork from a nice Italian Amarone. Also make sure that you drink the wine after you shave we don't want to scar that baby smooth face of yours!!! 👌
Hi geo I appreciate the shorter intro but for me it's really no problem to skip 10 or 20 seconds on the mobile app, so I'd say go with any intro you're happy with!
Good intro Geo but you forgot the runways!! The results were interesting I might even give it a go even though I "strop" my blades on a clean hand towel laid flat on the vanity top. I find this prolongs the life of the blade too. Just one thing I still cannot come at shaving with a cold blade mate.
That's cool geo but now you have raised my curiosity as i am thinking well if one can cork a blade what would be the difference between a corked blade and a blade run over a strop say once or twice each side may be worth a look and as for the intro the only thing i dont like is you dropped that banging tune bring back the beats brother 😁
GeoFatBoy, I didn't like your last intro, I loved your original intro better. But I love this new intro too, its perfect as you have it, good job! I am truly amazed by this bit of science, the corked blade did indeed provide you a smoother shave, over the other blade that wasn't corked. I really loved your video! Excellent Geo!
Maybe try switching sides of your face to see if result is duplicated in case there is a difference between your two sides? Asymmetry in bodies are common - I know this to be true for me in a few small ways.
Thank you for the interesting video. I use Feather blades in the Feather razor and intend to try this. Love the razor and the blades but the first shave does always feel a little rough. I change blades once a week, which seems fine, but I’m curious about longevity. Intro was great
Love the new intro! Good stuff! Short and to the point ha! Ok … crazy stuff - corking a blade. I was shocked at the results too. I will try it next time I get a bottle cork. Great video and thanks for the info Geo! Also, I noticed your saying cold water on the razor! I’ve been doing it since I saw your video on that. Haven’t gone back. It really works! I guess hot face and hot beard meets cold blade skin tightens up but beard stays. Better shave!
