Though not currently a pro tour course, 18 at DeLa. Being from Oklahoma, we dont have the elevation anywhere in the state to create a hole like that. That is one course on my bucket list.
Ooh, my favorite hole to watch is #16 on Emporia Country Club! It's so exciting watching every pro throw there, as even the best of the best can land OB. Also, the nerve-wracking death-putt for birdie that can end in disaster. Lastly the drop-zone, throughout the years there have been multiple exciting par-saves over the water that get the crowd cheering! Thanks for the video, Joel. It's always a pleasure watching!
Disc Side of Heaven: you step up to the starting hole at the Jonesboro Open with a hole that plays very accurately to par. At 450ft for MPO and 380 ft for FPO, it’s within range for players with elite distance but is a hole where most players are comfortable walking away with par.
Joel, it was great to meet you at USDGC, my first trip to see a pro event and it didn’t disappoint! Congratulations on your strong run there, and the solid way you finished out the year. And special blessings on your family addition! My favorite hole this year was Hole 18 on Winthrop and how challenging it was right up to the very last putt.
The first tournament that I ever attended was the 2021 Des Moines Challenge. I remember that you were one of the first pros that I ever saw tee off. I even took a video of you because we have a mutual friend that you went to college with. I had only been playing for about a year, but my friend invited me and we had an amazing time. Hole 5 really won me over because of the big crowd that's cheering everybody on and the big water carry. The round was cut short due to weather, but I still had such a great time.
First that comes to my mind is a "simple" on. All open, all air and not to much danger on a calm day. Jonesbro hole 1. It's so amazing to see the whole flight of the disc and it shows why pro's are pros. It's 470 or 480ft and they run for the ace most times, always exciting when the disc closes in on the basket! 😊
Hole 17 at Toboggan is one of my favorite. Exemplifies the challenges that pros have to face with elevation, OB, shot shaping, and distance. Eagle’s 400 ft guardrail straddle standstill forehand at 2021 DGLO will go down as one of the most iconic shots of this era which makes it all the more memorable.
Emporia Country Club, Hole 16 is probably my favorite, such an amazing hole in disc golf! Great for spectators and such a good momentum shifting hole!! PS keep the content coming Joel!
Favorite hole on tour to watch is that monster par 5 at the preserve. (Not the one over the pond) Just love seeing you pros have multiple chances to really open up!
new london tech hole 2. We played their for our college disc golf qualifier last year to get our D1 bid and I can't wait to see it get played at worlds this year
Hole 1 idlewild for sure. The eagle possibility makes it exciting to watch IMO. And yes, the line looks super difficult to hit combined with a world class arm speed of course ;)
My favorite hole to watch on tour and the one I’d most like to play is Hole 1 at Maple Hill. Something about that view and the water carry shot seems special.
I like finishing holes with opportunities to be aggressive that can create stroke separation. I loved 18 in Vegas. Since that is no longer on tour, I'll pick 18 at Maple Hill. Easy-ish par. The birdie is there if you execute. Bogey or worse is coming if you don't.
I find hole #17 @ Brazos Park East so fun to watch as a fan! Some of the most dangerous and unique shots happen there. It's such a great hole to watch as a fan!!! Thanks for the content Joel.
Love that you’re reviving your channel! I’m a big fan of hole 15 at USDGC. With the first shot down the long, low ceiling that sets up for a not-so-easy approach, makes this Par 4 fun to watch. It’s just a great hole that doesn’t need any adjustments to make it harder. Sometimes you run across holes that are naturally challenging. This is one of those! It’s just a pro level, very difficult hole. It’s take 2 very good shots to nab a birdie. I give it 2 👍🏼👍🏼
Hole 12 at Northwood Black. Mainly because as an AM having played it and seeing how crazy it is. Then to watch the Pro’s play it to truly show the teeth of it, to me shows how truly one of a kind that home really is.
Fun video. I liked watching the island hole at Maple Hill. So cool to watch and the volunteers who you know are just having a blast. Definitely a course that is on my bucket list.
There is a lot of holes I love on tour. But I think my favorite hole would have to be 18 at smugglers notch. Beautiful down hill par 4 with OB on both sides all the way down.
Maple Hill I feel is said a lot and for good reason but Hole 16 for me super tight tunnel when the disc gets near the basket it's a thing of beauty. Also that Kevin Jones ace is still my fav ace ever.
Great video Joel! Glad you're going to get more active in the YT Universe and look forward to whatever you're going to be dropping throughout the off-season. As far as favorite hole on the pro tour: That would have to be hole #8 at Maple Hill (MVP Open) What a fantastic atmosphere that hole has, with respect to the fanfare behind the hole, the running flags for great shots, the candy, etc! On top of that, it also has enough danger to be a hole that matters, bringing the impact of said hole even higher. Definitely a fave for me!
Awesome video, Joel! My favorite hole on tour in Northwood Black hole 12. I feel like some of the most surreal shots happen there. Ricky birdieing twice this year, AB throwing an insane flippy star destroyer - it's definitely been on my bucket list to suffer through that hole (and course) at some point.
Hole 1 USDGC. Such an iconic starting hole challenges the players right off the rip with a triple mando tunnel shot 280 feet downhill, but the tight tunnel to start off the day can either help you hit the ground running, or can ruin your entire day before it starts. It's such an entertaining hole.
Fun video! Love that you all have open area to get creative with a safari layout. My favorite hole to watch is Hole 8 at Maple Hill. Gives me the Phoenix Open Hole 16 vibes for ball golf having a nice crowd around the green.
Hole 1 Maple Hill, having played that course a bunch and spectated the mvp open, seeing the pros really open up on that tee shot is something special. And that tight green rounds out the hole great, creates some fun early round drama and separation
Hole 18 at the Gorge for the Blue Ridge Championship, such a cool finishing hole and so incredibly difficult. Watching the tournament was fun but really made me think that the course would be awesome for match play. So many holes there have risk reward decisions to make that would make match play incredibly exciting. There's always a possibility for a stroke swing on every hole!
Hole 5 at Portland East! Loved watching the flight from the top of the hill with the long turns and fades especially this past year playing with the hazard bunkers. Absolutely loved seeing the thought process of each play debating on if they wanted to push it farther or play safe.
My favorite hole has always been hole 12 at WR Jackson. A shorter par 5 with a risk reward play up the left gap for the rare eagle that gives a really honest decision for the players to make on one of the most beloved courses. Rest in peace 😢
Like some of the other folks, Hole 8 of Maple Hill is one of my favorites - watching them try to bullseye that water carrry... (with Hole 14 being another similar challenge), although I'm a beginner, so I'd lose a half dozen discs trying that!
Love the new hole 8 par 5 on Brewster for Worlds that I’m assuming will be at GMC! It’s such an uphill bruiser that every shot looks challenging so you can’t relax. It really changes the overall feel and intimidation factor of Brewster overall.
I sure hope he does hit the pro tour next season! He’s worked so damn hard and I absolutely believe he’s finally at the level to be competitive with the big boys 👊
My favorite hole on tour is hole 14 at maple hill. It didn’t used to be, but I went up to play Maple Hill Golds for my bachelor trip. That hole was so much harder than it seemed before
truly enjoyed watching you guys play and seeing how well bodanza did with yall. if i had to choose a hole it would probably be maple hill 18 as i love this blind shot leading to a island green. hole one is awesome a beautiful tee shot.
Favorite hole on tour... Well I don't think it's on tour anymore but, I really love the Philo Albatross hole at Beaver State Fling. In other news, have you gotten to play the new layout at lower badlands yet? It's a lot of fun!
Too many great holes on tour, but I’ll go with hole 5 at USDGC! Such a great hole and scary on every shot! I miss the tee pads coming from the dock of the lake! Thanks for the videos! @wgriser
I would love to either play maple hill or new London. I’ve only played a handful of courses in the 2 years I’ve been playing (really, less, due to achilles surgery), but I do know those 2 courses would be challenging fun.
There are so many great holes on tour, it’s hard to pick just one. I think my favorite (right now) is hole 12 (I think… right after the water tower hole) at lake eureka. Precision, power, and backup options if you’re too far left, it feels like a more strategic hole than straight skill. But really any hole with options for the players to take different paths.
Favorite hole is the genius hole at beaver state fling without a doubt. At least in years past. The new layout is a BEAST! But it was always so fun watching the big arms get up there for a eagle look!
I can’t choose one on this course. The European open course at the Nokia disc golf park. That whole course has a uniqueness that is very intriguing to watch.
Emporia Hole 16 would be one of my first choices for the accuracy required more than the "demonstration of pure distance". El Conquistador - Tucson Hole 18 was an impressive one to watch and play when setting up the course, but it was for the all-stars event only, so not sure that counts :-) Happy Thanksgiving!
