About me:
I am a wife, mom and CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist). I went to nursing school to get my ADN, started working and then went back for my BSN. I was a travel nurse for 2 years before starting CRNA school. I loved travel nursing so much but I also love anesthesia so I went back to school to become a CRNA. Fitness is a huge part of my life. I've competed in powerlifting and Crossfit. Jon and I own a gym together. We are vegan because we are both huge animal lovers. We are also foster parents!

Rhianna Ferial That makes me happy to hear that. I’m so torn between nursing school and medical school. Currently I work in dialysis but have 15 years of health care experience. I know why I want to be an MD but living pay check to pay check gives me feelings of selfishness in regards to my wife and kids. Becoming a Nurse only appealed to me in regards of shorter school time and job security. The job itself doesn’t. That’s probably in part due to my experience in health care and downsides I’ve seen that can come with Nursing. Specifically floor. My family has all agreed to go down the Medical road with me but I feel they shouldn’t continue to not have things they want because of my career path. Kids are still young. By the time I finished my residency the oldest would be 12. I wouldn’t miss to much in those regards. I guess I’m just scared of the journey or making the wrong choice career wise. Do you have any advice?

Thank you for being so open and transparent. I just started CRNA school last month and it is so intense. I feel like I've learned more in these 4 weeks than I did in my 2 years of nursing school. We are front-loaded. They provide a lot of opportunity to get in plenty of cases prior to graduation. I have a friend that's a CRNA doing 1099 work that said he could get me on with him when I graduate and that he would look out for me until I got comfortable. Would you discourage a new CRNA from doing 1090 work? Thank you.

I would suggest looking at getting supplemental liability insurance anyway. Because if something goes wrong, you would get direct representation in the proceedings. With having your hospitals coverage only, they can negotiate a settlement without a jury trial and you could be on the hook for damages that you never got a say in.

Something around that much! CRNAs get paid $100-$100plus, I can’t wait to finish school and become one!

Do CRNAs really hate CAA's ? I am looking into becoming an Anesthesiologist Assistant and I've been told that CRNA's despise CAA's. I am currently a Respiratory therapist and being a CAA is a logical pathway for me. Thanks you so much ! by the way I love your videos.

Its a great career option with an RT degree but make sure to take a note of Limitation in where you can practice. CAA are limited in States they can practice.

AA’s are the political pawns of MDAs/DOAs and only exist for the job security of said physician anesthesiologists. Legislation doesn’t allow AA’s to work in all states and also they must always work under an anesthesiologist; unlike CRNAs who can practice and Bill independently.

Hi Rhianna, sorry if I might have missed it in previous videos but what state are you working in? I've only ever seen border cities pay that much straight out of school. Thanks!

How long does it take to be a CRNA after nursing school?
@Zay13378
@Zay13378 3 года назад
You will need a Doctorates starting in 2025, and usually 1-2 years of acute care. So in total you are looking at around 3-4 years of schooling plus those other years in the ER etc.

why don't you get your medical, dental and eye insurance through the hospital where you work? it would save you a lot of money since it's a group rate.
