Just so you know, this is NOT Disney, it's Dreamworks and there's quite the story behind this film. So basically, Jeffrey Katzenberg, who worked at Disney and was responsible for a lot of their succes in the 90's, was fired and he then founded Dreamworks. Shrek is his revenge against Disney. You'll notice this movie makes fun of a lot of Disney tropes and has adult jokes (which disney obvs can't do), also Lord Farquaad was based on his old boss, the head of Disney (Farquaad sounds a lot like something else 😂). And Shrek made a LOT of money 🤭

I recently went to a drag watching of Shrek as a date (there were drag performances before the movie and then they showed it!) and it was truly the wildest experience. It was like watching Rocky Horror Picture show, people were quoting it and responding and it was incredible. A 10/10 date for sure!

I'm always in for a Shrek rewatch. It's one of the few pieces of media I always watched dubbed in Spanish. The translation of the jokes and the inclusion of new ones because the translation didn't work in Spanish is just delightful.

So apparently a lot the animators of shrek were sent there as “punishment” so that’s why it has a very IDGAF attitude and they took a lot of risks. Because everyone was petty and mad while they were animating the movie😂

I could be wrong, but I think Shrek actually isn't bald because in one of the other movies when he drinks the magic potion and turns into a human, he has hair. Edit: However Fiona's ogre form does have the same hair as in human form so idk

Actually I think it kinda worked like this for some Royal families back in the day, for example cuz obviously patriarchal rules or whatever only a male heir could be on the throne but if the family only had a daughter as a descendant and of course no cousins or lost brothers or whatever, the man who would be married to the princess actually will be on the throne if the actual king dies or is already dead...

Out of interest when my sister got married the priest said that the ‘does anyone here present object’ thing is just a formality because the banns have been read which has given people enough time to object and if anyone does then he would ring the police and have them arrested as it’s actually an offense 😳 That was 19 years ago, and obviously counts for church weddings where banns are read, but I’m guessing it’s not changed? 😂
