In fact I heard SOOOOO many themes referenced in the dungeons but can’t do them yet because a lot of people don’t even want to know that those exist 🤣 Too late for me. Man I keep hearing that. I’ll have to consider it in the future. It’s funny, I barely have time to both play and create videos 🤣 But GOTTA make time for new Zelda games, esp ones like this. I don’t even have a computer yet. Probably not going the Twitch route of gaming and stuff, but maybe when I’m rich and famous and have more time for the channel I can do that as a long stream to celebrate a benchmark like 50k SUBs or something. Yeah, definitely could be just in 12/8 or even 3/4 and just a SUPER syncopated feel. In fact that’s probably more likely. Must be a nightmare to sight read 🤣

​​@@ZeldaMusicTheory alternating between 11/8 3+3+3+2 and 13/8 3+3+3+2+2 is the easiest to count and to perform, which makes it preferable and less ambiguously syncopated.

Yeah exactly! Sort of a musical breakdown. I try to edit out a lot of the fluff so it’s engaging. Maybe I should edit out even more but I want that “reaction aspect to it too. Thanks for watching!

Those are interesting- I have listened to all the effects and the sounds are fitting, maybe some fourths, just not that much to draw attention to. But I probably could have thrown it in there

Wow, so the notes of the Lost Woods Theme are F A B - F A B - And the notes at 2:34 are (if I transpose it to the same key) F Bb Eb, just stacked fourths. But it sounds kinda similar because both are 3 notes ascending. Always happy to vet ideas! 😄

I pulled one up and it has some GTA 3 opening vibes, Dorian mode with some minor 9 chords. But send me yt links to like your top 3 and I’ll give them a listen! Also I just covered Final Fantasy which I figured would do well, and it was a total flop. I have no idea what the algorithm and therefore viewers are interested in 😓 Hahaha, so each time I just go back to Zelda. It’s my favorite anyway. But I would like to cover other stuff too.

So at 4:32 where the theme changes, this is the battle theme against Zonai enemy inside a shrine in TOTK. I went back and listened to BOTW test of strength and didn’t hear a connection, although the test of strength in TOTK reference the shrine theme in a slow cool way.

The piano part from the 2nd trailer is directly quoted. I do play the footage. I discuss it in depth in the video I referenced but didn’t want to slow this video down on something I’d already talked about. Sorry, it may have been too brief! There’s another that quotes the Main Theme, which I also did a video about. Both are on my channel if you want to see more. Thanks for the comment.

That’s true. I think that kind of chill hop sound is relaxing and helps you get immersed. But the techno gets your heart rate up. This game kinda does both simultaneously when you’re in a shrine then in a battle.

No idea but I grew up with 2 cds with the Wind Waker soundtrack and listened to it repeatedly in middle school. So I hope so. But also I know times have changed, and just getting an official ost on yt would be great.

I’m sure this theme’s time is coming. I would have covered it week 1 if I had gotten there. I will likely cover it in my Rito Directors Cut which I already filmed and has a reference to that theme (sneak peek) 😊

@@he4rt5 Ahh I see. I should just let Frank reply but you can find the OST on youtube. For example I just searched “totk shrine music” and got a bunch of results, no in-game sounds. The OST was out on youtube before the game dropped. Idk what kind of black magic that was but it’s true lol

Yeah totally agree- I thought about that later. iimin7 makes it Dorian immediately. As So What (Miles Davis) is in. It didn’t really hit me until I heard the note in the melody. Also I cut more than half of what I say and play for the sake of pacing, so a lot of the music theory stuff I wouldn’t be surprised if I did go over it, and I thought it was too boring for the average viewer 🤣

Yeah I played through once then reacted to the music. I listened to actual gameplay footage but the sound of the music is almost drowned out. In fact even the shrine music I just overlayed unrelated gameplay footage and edited them together (took forever) so it was more engaging for you guys but you could actually hear the music. It’s challenging. Going forward I may ditch the visuals because it might spoil for some. We’ll see.
