@@itsjusti4262you literally don’t. he’s actually weird. filming the outside makes it fall apart far quicker especially in the sun. this guy is an idiot
If that's your toxic trait, you're pretty well ahead of most others. My toxic trait is letting you know that you could nail me first try. I'm so sorry lol
@@ZapytajRedditPolska Bro, in countries outside the US, especially Nordic countries but also in other populated areas like Central nsw Australia or london or even Ireland, many people really don't ever need to drive because of the immense availability of and infrastructure surrounding public transport and bicycle lanes. Seriously, more and more people each generation are not even bothering to get a drivers licence because it just makes no sense to for many people. The cost in time and money for maintenance and fuel for many is beginning to heavily outweigh the benefits of owning a car, and when alternative transport is regularly and cheaply available, it's only an act of self sabotage to own a vehicle. Every generation we're getting more and more young adults that do not drive or own a car, and that trend seems to be continuing to rise over time. This trend is not seen in America, for obvious reasons relating to infrastructure and the distances between populated areas, and of course even outside the us, this trend tends to be much less in more rural areas.
I don’t own a car or have a license, nor do I plan on customizing cars anytime soon… but I just subbed because there’s something addictive about watching people who are good at what they do.
solution: steal a car, dont need a license the grand theft auto will fuck you beyond the point of driving without a license being an issue. also run from the cops if they find u
@@DetroitTintStudiothis video was actually perfect! As someone who struggled with back windows so badly. This makes a lot of sense. Now I get them first try and only have to redo if I make a dumb mistake like accidentally cut too short or crease while trying to install lol
Thanks for sharing this! Although I am confident I could not do this on my own, it’s so good to see someone that’s an expert at what they do. It’s just appreciated seeing somebody do something correctly.
My brain is melting.. How is outside related to inside... You should be able to stick the outside film on a piece of hubba bubba chewing gum and there's still gonna be glass in between.. What is happening...
Back in the 80s we bought tint from the auto parts store. We used a pen knife or a razor blade and a ton of windex while smoothing it out with a card card. Lasted forever.
This is def a dumb question but how are you squeegying it from the inside when you've applied the sticker on the outside of the window? What am I missing? I'm so confused
I think the common misconception is that you will overheat the film and burn through it. Keeping a good distance helps that, along with trusting the process. Great video!
I tinted my own windows. Wasn’t to bad. The last one I tinted came out the best. On the particular tint I was using the secret was just tons of water with a spray bottle. This actually looks easier than what I was doing
Thank you so much, this really changed everything. This is the hardest DIY project I’ve ever taken on ever. I have literally built a small house just by watching RU-vid videos. Window tint is a whole new ball game. Respect!
What about a way to like removed say over years it starts cracking right cuz I'm pretty sure I can still like a road and deteriorate over time so isn't there a way to get it off if that happens
Tint goes on one side so how does it go from outside to inside? Honestly curious. Initially it starts on the inside then he shows you how to do it on the outside to fix the problems on the inside.
The tint is shrunk on the outside and then installed on the inside. So in the beginning he is showing that if you have the problems on install (final step inside) then you are messing on during the prep on the outside
Those are called fingers that can turn into creases if you squeegee them too hard. You can save the tint during install by adding more heat to the outside without having to start the process all over again.
Back windows if you don’t lay your soak towel will all end up in the trunk. doors are different they have drain holes so most of it is ejected while the other evaporates
Tinting is 100% an art and it really does take skill, know how, patience. Whether it seems simple or not, some scenarios may be, stuff like this though, man. It’s hard to not get the film adhesive dirty, fold it and make it stick, get the bubbles out, you really need more film to do it a few times or more your first time. I’ve never done a back window and honestly I would rather just remove the window and make sure it’s perfect since I never do it and it would honestly probably save me time in the long run.
What's funny to me, is that you had to try pretty hard to not get it to work right while it was still working pretty well. Lol. Watching a pro try to teach what not to do always cracks me up.
The slow addition of medium heat allows the tint film to 'spread'the big crease into smaller creases which become easier to adhere to the curved surface. I used to work as a vinyl signage applicator person - vinyl graphics material works in the same manner.
Is that Wagner in Heat 1 or 2 Position? How hot do you get the tint? (Until wavy is Sufficient?) Do you have fear of overheating the Window while shrinking the tint?
It takes talent to do a good job tinting windows! You guys are talented at tinting!! I’ve learned a lot from your videos but I still don’t feel comfortable enough to tackle tinting my car windows!I also lack patience!
Thank you so much. I’ve shrunk a couple of back glasses now and it’s gotten a bit easier. The install is what’s difficult for me. I’m 6’3” so trying to get back there, especially when the head rests don’t come out
Should you have the backing on the tint film while dry shrinking? Or do you just STICK the tint to the glass as if you're installing it and then do this?
Paid a guy $290 to tint all 6 windows, full car in my sedan and it was Llumar brand tint. Honestly saved myself headache and energy, I’d rather pay the extra $100 or so in labor to get it done professionally.
I used to tint my parents cars with tint I'd buy from Track Auto in the 90s. Wish I had you tube then! As a teen I'd spend hours trying to get that tint to come out right and man it took several tries but I got it done. 😁 Almost perfect lol
Why are you throwing away trade secrets? 3 out of 5 people needing tint will now attempt this. 1 of 3 will be successful enough to be satisfied with their results. The other 2 will have already spent too much money to pay a professional to do it right. The other 2 people that never attempted it were broke in the first place. I tint windows for a living. Nice work by the way though. I watch your tiktok lives and I enjoy them. However, I think you give away too much "tinting knowledge" for free.
I about fell over on how much I was quoted to do my equipment, and knew they were way harder to do than a car but..... Me being me I ordered 100 foot of nice tint, a variety of squeegees n chit and man on man what have I gotten myself into LMFAO I did pretty good I must say on the flat glass in the Bobcat Telehandler but got my ass handed to me on the curved front glass. I think I figured out from your video that my heat gun just sux. Going to order on and give another go. Thanks for the video!
I tried your way but a big section of film landed on a state police windshield while he was behind me....now I have a ticket for defective equipment😢😢😢
Man I see so many people driving around with bubbly tint. If people would just learned the concept of shrinking they're install would be a lot better even though it wouldn't be professional quality
Yeah, i just paid $200 for mine & 7 years later it stills look like it came straight from the factory. I don't even like fooling with putting on a screen protector on my phone. No way im doing this shiiiiieeeeeet.
Ok I know I can do tint, that acts almost exactly like wrap vinyl and I've been doing wraps over 10 years. Never tried tint but after watching this I know for a fact I can do it.
Does cheap film not shrink? I bought some on Amazon just to see how difficult it was. I patiently built up heat the level of heat I was using but it had two modes; no shrink or crispy
Have a great day, God bless, Jesus Christ loves you all, John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Man I tried to do my own tints off of like a roll and I wanted to stab my eyeballs out but then i buy the precut tint kits that you can find on like Amazon and eBay they are like laser Precision perfect size and it makes the job so much easier, for me doing it myself this was great but not from a business standpoint the pros get the big rolls and cut their own 😅 f that
Wait, so somehow applying film on the outside magically makes it apply better on the inside? Never mind the face that on the outside you dont normally have as much trim to go around...
I know it isn’t the same but I used static cling tint on my windshield. More of a vinyl. But some spots look like your thumbnail picture and they don’t come out no matter how much I squeegee. You can’t see it from inside but you can from the outside. Can I use the heat gun very lightly to get rid of this or is it a lost cause?
Wait I'm confused, why are you putting window tint on both sides of the glass? Wouldn't the outside layer be exposed to outside weathering and damage. I've just never seen it done like that. All window tint that I've seen installed and put on vehicles was just on the inside of the window. Seems a bit excessive and not needed. In my opinion, a waste of money to put it on both sides.
Random sciency (ignore the grammar) thought, how does this even happen? We learn in school that things expand on heating, yet here we see the film "shrinks"🥴
People don’t have patience, oddly enough as long as I can keep moving I have ‘patience’ enough to do a slow task like this but I don’t have the patience for cooking Hell I can’t even wait for potatoes to boil
Okay. So genuine question. Is tint done mainly on the inside, or outside of the vehicle? I always thought it was on the inside, but here, hes doing the outside. Or is the outside like a test/practice piece?
