LOL ! "That's not a heifer !" x-D I so enjoy your videos SDK. Your cows are so healthy and clean and the way you interact with them shows the respect that you and your family have for the animals under your care. Your attention to detail in the cleanliness and proper operation of your farm speaks volumes. You guys are a model of how it should be done, but as well.... I'm quite sure that you're not the only dairy farmers out there who are "doin it right". Thanks so much for sharing !
Thanks for another great video. It's the little stuff that can get ya. Cleaning that floor to make it less slick for the cows and all of you is a good thing. Great to see members of your family working together - it's what makes for a successful farming operation. Blessings to you, and the members of your family, and your crew. Take care, from the retired pastor in Davenport, Iowa.
For all of my people with anxiety or problems falling asleep (no offense this channel is just extremely relaxing) this channel is amazing! So educational, relaxing and truly wholesome!
I'm really impressed Jan - No job is too large or too small for you to accomplish. You are an inspiration for many young farmers (and others) who follow your videos. Good job!
Have not read the other comments but if you haven't already you should check the circuit breaker for that brush. It looks to be a simple circuit so if it is not the breaker or the wiring the only other thing is the motor$. Love seeing the videos, did read someone said get a circular head cleaner. It may make your floor cleaning easier, usually under 100 US.
Really growing your channel! I'm watching at noon on 6/6/20 and there's already 6699 views. A whole lot of people are very envious. And a whole lot of people know you work very hard to show us far North Dairy life.
You're a good brother. ;-D It's very nice that you introduce your sisters (family) to your subscribers. You demonstrate class and a high level of professionalism in the videos.
Oh the cow waiting and watching as you came to repair the cattle brush. And then the disappointment and lowered head as your valiant efforts were not sufficient.
Didn't look like a steer either. That is some nice pres washer. Gotta keep the spray away from your skin. It can peel you. As always your cattle looked happy. Good vid. Peace.
Jan. Ringing ears from noise isn’t good. “We (meaning you) will get over it.” For now yes, but long term damage from noise builds over time, so avoid eventual hearing loss by wearing ear protection please young man. You will be glad you did when you are older 😊
say Jan did you check the circuit breaker to see if it was overloaded as the burnt patch in the housing for the board that the dealer sent you is just giving me the analytical urge to make sure the circuit breaker is functioning as well
If some electronic burns, always check first the motor. If u have multimeter set it on continouity test (shuld beeb when u short two probes thogeter), and check if they have short to frame and to other coils if this is 3 pahse motor or with startup coil. If not check resistant coil resitance it shuld be no more than 10 ohms in most cases araund 8 ohms. If resistance is bigger than that u miaght firt change motor or rewind it.
Ryobi sells a attachment it’s 15 inch 3300 psi. that will help you out to clean it faster I clean my driveway with it and leaves it perfect only $74.97 us @ Home Depot
Looks like there's a sale going on down at the Dress Barn the way those heifers were moving down the lane! Either that are there's auditions going on for a Chic Fil A commercial!
Always great content. So you gave the broken brush a Body Check along the side boards... you must be a hockey player; but who isn't in Saskatchawan 🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜 🚜
I always dreamed of my parents having a dairy operation or farm. Would of loved growing up on a farm. But maybe I'm weird! Ha ha. Did do dairy goats for 14ish years though.
If you get a chance check out Tom Pemberton’s channel. He and his dad have a small dairy farm in the UK. Really nice and funny guy. Your ow brush reminded me of Tom. He has a manual cow brush.
Are those collars expensive because they have the tracking devices that allow you to follow them throughout the shed and everything else to determine their productivity and walking around Etc.?
How about when a cow dies? How do you guys manage it? Today, I felt you a bit tired, or so. However, a nice video again. Greetings from Glostrup, Danmark.
My opinion>>> have a retractable roof over the special needs cow pen so that the ladies can get some sun in the summer. Everyone heals faster under the sun.
Can you do a video on vaccinations and antibiotics it’s confusing me about the does and don’t and can and can ... also if your animals are older them 30 months if they go to slaughter the rules on that I’m just wondering if it’s different from Ontario. Thank-You sorry if that is a confusing question. Your videos are the best.
He is not giving them antibiotics. He's giving them vaccines to prevent mastitis, educating or re-educating, in the case of cows that have already been part of the milking herd, their bodies to recognize any foreign cells and deal with them before they cause problems. Any milking cows that need to be treated with antibiotics would be in the special needs pen, where she is equipped with coloured bands on her hind legs and her milk is stripped out separately and doesn't even go into the supply lines, let alone the bulk milk tank. He has a video about one cow who is being treated with antibiotics.
Hey Jan, looks like one of the boys snuck in to be with the your girls 😈 shuffling the cows around got me confused as who gos where lol I know that the cows like that brush next thing you know they'll be wanting a pedicure and a hot tub in the back lol that lost collar comes out of your check lol so next for you Jan keep up the good work see you in the next video 🤔🐄😉
That was gonna be my question! I have wondered the same thing. Other dairy's use them for the auto milker's, but they don't use that here........so I'm curious 🤷
It’s for measuring heat! If she runs around a lot we know we can AI them in that corral! So we’ll see that someone’s got high activity, lock the head lockers after we feed them, then breed them
Adrian - I’ve got an idea that the milking system reads which one is being milked for automatic digital record keeping, not for non milking animals of course. Might be different colours for different purposes.
