1971 - 1974. A comparison of the professional phono cartridges from Shure. Designed for DJ, Broadcast and Studio applications, these models have heavy duty stylus assemblies built to withstand daily, continuous use without damage. The DJ and Broadcast models have been tuned to have a -4 dB roll-off at high frequencies to reduce static and noise commonly found in broadcast and DJ applications while the studio model has an extremely flat frequency curve for record auditioning and evaluation.

Overlooked by the 'audiophiles' but these are some of the nicest sounding cartridges Shure made. I still use a SC35c daily. It's never damaged any records. The original 'Made in USA' SC35c had a nude 0.6 stylus and was designed in conjuction with the BBC, the later production was bonded, finally ending in a bonded 0.7. Then Shure decided to desert all their customers and throw away decades of skill and experience.

Where do you get all these cartridges from mr bay, wouldn't mind that sc39 ed how much did that cost you? Do you find these cartridges the cantilever is bent to one side it's usually over compensating for anti- skate, when lining it up to the headshell line up the cantilever not the body of the cartridge to compensate you'll find it better just twist the cartridge a fraction or sometimes quite a lot depends how bad it is, and even with a straight one I would twist it slightly it works better, it has been found by wally that over 78% of Zenith is out even if the manufacture claims it to be less than half percent and that doesn't matter on price of cartridge, by twisting it in the headshell inwards you can find the correct zenith just by ear. Another thing try and keep your interconnect short half a meter or less to reduce the capacitance, where you see the slope roll-off on these cartridges it would actually give them a rise slightly, really you want about a foot no more of connection to the phonostage in these cases. A good cable is Belden to build your own, or blue jeans zero capacitance what is not zero but is very low I think its about 12 picofarrets per thousand feet it uses the Belden cable. Another thing swap the RCA sockets and put BNC 50 ohms they are straight replacement of course you have to solder in the wires. Well won't actually give them a rise as such, depending their measurements I'm sure it's correct but you're adding more of a slope by the interconnect cable and really you want to get rid of that bring up the top end

He probably got them for cheap before all the vinyl resurgence craze from these last 10-15 years
