Here from extra credits' developer's playlist, this was a great episode, so entertaining, and I never realized board games were so varied and interesting.

I whole-heartedly agree. Sometimes when my friends and I play, the traitor can just seem randomly chosen. Or the fact that we have extremely bad rollers and we have to explore the house with only a few tiles. But the fact that we sorta role play the characters while playing does lead to a lot of fun, as well as coming up with new strategies to take down the haunt. Like Ox becoming a genius when given the book, or what new creature appears when you get Bite. All and all, super fun game.

WOW , that's actually crazy! you did marvelous work, do more! i love how different games are, at the playable mechanic , from light ti heavy, but as a quick review this is much better . some title actually very very interesting :) thanks

Betrayal is a great game if everyone gets into the spirit of it. The whole point is that you're all characters in a B horror movie, so play that part up. It also helps a LOT if one of you has either played before or has seen a playthrough of it online. That way you don't have to sweat the technicals so much and the game goes faster. In my last game my Frankenstein's monster almost killed everybody... and my only remaining opponent, the paperboy, gets a lucky throw with the torch and I lose. Really tense game.

Betrayal is one of the most replayable games I've ever played. The house is always different, the characters are constantly changing and have unique stats, the haunts are varied and intense... pure game gold.

Necro, but Betrayal is unplayable with my regular tabletop group. One guy gets SO competitive and angry when the dice screw him. It's seriously a nightmare to be on the opposite faction to him (Traitor v Survivor). I only play co-op games with that group now.

In that case I recommend Arkham Horror. Similar creepiness, but totally co-op.

I could never get into Eldritch Horror. It just felt like a dumbed down version of Arkham. It does have the nice advantage of being playable in a couple hours instead of like 5 though.

Betrayal at House on the Hill is an amazing game. Possibly my favourite board game. The first half is great because the tension is building. You are looking desperately for items in order to defend yourself; however, you are always uneasy when a companion is doing extremely well because they could end up being the traitor. My only problem with the game, and this rarely happens, is when you end up being in a brilliant position to beat the game quickly as it makes for a poor payoff to the tension.

Super Famicoms and Super Nentendos are basically the same thing, just with slightly different styling. They are not region locked. The image is not large enough for me to say for sure which styling it is, but my point was that it was not the 8 bit console and was indeed the 16 bit console.

My only gripe with Betrayal is those fucking stat trackers... They are either to firm or too loose... And when you go to change one stat, another one of those damn trackers falls off and of course you can't remember what that stat said, so you're gonna have to guess... Thankfully though, some genius has made an app that makes this actually very easy, and the game just got a bazillion times better thanks to it. I really enjoy the game, and so has anyone who tried it with me.

Alternatively, you can replace them with a triangle paper clip. That said, if the sliders are the worst complaint you have about a game, I say the designers did pretty well.

if you use the app to keep track of everyone you can use a tablet for everyone to track their character, or even have a games master who keeps track for everyone. can be fantastic if played as a true RPG.

Betrayal is a great idea for a game, yet is generally not a fun experience, here's why: Once the bad guy emerges, usually it's painfully clear who is going to win, yet the game drags on for perhaps another forty minutes. In the rare cases where you don't know which way it's going to go . . . well, often it just comes down to dice rolling and it's still kind of a drag.

Betrayal is one of those games I dislike more than I should because while it is fun it colors a lot of new player's perceptions, and certain groups end up playing it constantly, bringing it out at every get together. Considering that it can take 2-3 hours if the scenario is particularly drawn out, this is absurd. Good game, but I'd recommend you pace yourself with it.

I originally loved Betrayal at House on the Hill, but after playing it more and more it's merely ok. There are a few vague rules and most scenarios either make the traitor extremely weak or overpowered, making it an easy win. But the rare occasion you play a haunt where both sides are "even" it's really fun.

I just want to say, i have won as the renegade in an 7 player game. I got the sheriff, on low health, so convinced that i was a deputy that he ended up shooting his last deputy. Boom! sorry. BANG!

I think the balance is off too. The heroes usually win and I think that it should be rigged so that if any team is usually winning its the traitor. That would be more congruent with a horror atmosphere. Otherwise my favourite game of all time. It NEEDS a sequel.

Betrayal has always been odd for me. Like, if you just go in not thinking of it like a board game, and instead thinking of it as an experience, it's a load of fun. If you are trying to play it like a normal board game, or really if anybody is, they won't have fun, and nobody else will have fun because of them. You need the right players, and you need the right mood. Find those, and the game is wonderful. If you don't have those, the game sucks.
