I see many ppl say “yay finally a ghost that only attacks the person responsible for her suffering”. Remember the ghost ISBT the antagonist here. Shutter flipped it. We know the supposed protagonist is the bad guy. And the girl is the poor victim teaching him a lesson
The horror film that traumatized me as a child. The ring and the grudge, I watched it all when I was young but the shutter is the only one who gave me nightmares. 😵💫
Crazy how different films hit different ppl. The ring and grudge were the ones known to traumatize a generation. Shutter is good bu4 wasn’t as big as those other 2. again love shuttle but no way does it touch the original Japanese Grudge lol
@jomercene7311 I was watching this on the couch with my ex-girlfriend and shut the curtains and put the volume on loud. One scene when the ghost popped out and the sudden music effect. My ex turned around to hug me, but as she was doing so, her forehead hit my right eyebrow and I just had fresh stitches. She scream while hugging me and I scream because of my stitches and the vision of the ghost, also the sound effect from the ghost while being in a dark environment. Yo, I'm still scared of this movie.
@@bacsolo3719 I first watched this with my cousins, auntie and uncle. HAHAHAHAH I remember how my auntie slapped my uncle and pulled his hair whenever the ghost popped out. 😅
So happy this masterpiece is getting more recognition! Love how scared you are lol, not gonna lie I shat myself watching it the first time. That there is more to the hauting than a car accident is what makes the movie so good, perfect acting, cool special effect and a mystery to solve? What's more to ask for? Back in the day Shutter was fully on youtube (in several parts you couldn't really had hour long video) I was really lucky to find it. I love Natre she isn't a one dimensional evil ghost, she looks out for Jane, too, truly a sis
why did YT recommend this to me just now?! i looked for a Shutter reaction before but this video never appeared in my search results and it's already 9 mos old. YT been holding out on me. In any case, glad to have found this channel.
Nice vid! I found your channel through your V/H/S reviews, after I finished watching all the films and wanted to see other people's reactions to the franchise. I had a passing knowledge of Shutter, including the twists, but after watching your reaction, I was surprised that there were arguably two climaxes that served different purposes and were equally strong moments.
Thanks for watching! If you’re into the V/H/S movies you may like our fan film we just released called V/H/S/23. And yeah I knew Shutter was gonna be scary but I was impressed with the story arc and overall resolution
This one is an amazing movie. I never forgot that reveal. Asian horror is so good. In my opinion, even the weakest asian horror movies, still can offer a lot of entertainment!
I'm asian and I hate watching them, I wuss out way to easy, it's to much to handle lol, juon the grudge, shutter, one miss call, all those horror is to much but ill still watch it tho
Very underrated movie, I loved it, I can't even remember how I came to watch it since it's not that known or properly recognized, but yeah it's very terrifying xD I enjoyed your reaction man :)
I'm glad you chose the original and not the remake, which is often underrated compared to megahits like "The Ring" (the American remake was also great) and "The Grudge." Here are some other Asian horrors you might consider: • "The Eye" (2002) - Hong Kong-Singaporean • "Dark Water" (2002) - Japanese (and the 2005 American remake is also great) • "The Wailing" (2016) - South Korean • "Train To Busan" (2016) - South Korean • "The Maid" (2005) - Singaporean • “Nang Nak” (1999) - Thai Also, "#Alive" (2020), a South Korean adaptation of an American script by Matt Naylor for his film "Alone" (2020). I have both films, and the South Korean version is superior due to the tight script adapted by director Cho Il-hyung. While both films start with a similar premise, they diverge towards the end. The South Korean version benefits from a bigger budget plus the better conclusion, whereas "Alone" is an American indie film, and even with film icon Donald Sutherland, it didn't rise above its poor resolution in my opinion.
Also I hope you watch Alone (thai horror). It was also created by the same creators of Shutter. It's not as scary as this one but it's just as amazing as this one.
Heck yeah dude , double exposure was a common thing, I remember my mom would get a discount if your photos you had developed had any double exposures in them but yeah some of them were freakin creepy but was always explained as “double exposure” wish we’d of kept Al of them to see how much that explanation today really holds up lol. You were recalling a legit thing though.
I love your reaction, it's so real. As a Thai person, I like the atmosphere of this movie. It's very scary but the movie is quite old so the ghosts aren't very scary. I would like to recommend another good Thai ghost movies for you "ลัดดาแลนด์". It's really good. If you have time and reactions on this movie, I'd really appreciate it!! 🙏💗
Hi, rob. I’m thai and i love your reaction so much. I hope you watch others thai scary movies like “coming soon(2018)” , “the medium(2021)” , “Thongsook 13 (and i personally think this is the scariest horror movie i’ve ever seen in my life)”.Thank you for making fantastic reaction videos. ❤
This movie was awesome. I only just watched it for the first time today! No kidding. I was drawn to it after seeing a short on reddit. It totally creeped me out. I'm kind of desensitized towards horror movies at this point.. so it wasn't that scary to me, but still cinematic genius! My biggest question though.. is that at the very end of the movie (when Jane saw the pics of the ghost crawling to the bookcase which led to where he hid the photos of that terrible thing they did to her..) umm who took those photos? that's creepier than anything to me. I mean the two of them were asleep on the couch.. so who was taking all of those photos? So weird.
there was a scene when Tun and Jane were talking on the couch and then the scene cut to Tun's camera that he put on a table or something at the corner of the room, and it's making a noise like it's zooming and taking photos on its own.
Rob, I love your reactions! Also the fact that you watched one of my favorites "The Dark and The Wicked". You nerd to watch The Strangers when home alone. :)
As a Thai person Idk if this film scared yall or not but I like American's horro film such as Devil Demon or something but most of Thai's horror film always come with Ghost
I would like to recommend another movie that was in 2004, a good one called art of the devil. There are 3 parts in total. and another story in 2011, Laddaland and in 2006, 13 Beloved
This movie made me scared of horror movies. I left the movie on and left my mum in the house by herself. I got home at 11 pm while my mum was in her room. As i entered my home and shut the door, and i heard her calling for my name. I entered her room to see her underneath her sheets, saying never to put that movie on ever again. This movie is scary as hell!
This is the only movie that had me turn it off halfway when I first watched it lmao, way spookier then ju-on, and waaaay scarier then "I know what you did last summer"
@@therobwf you like more of this type stuff, watch the medium, its a thai horror, I feel messed up, just watched it. Its a bit of a slowburn at first, but jesus fuck what the hell when it picks up 💀 Incantation is also a must watch. Deadware is another that I liked, its about a haunted game involving a ouija board and a shady website with found foutage material
Just discovered your channel. I love this movie, one of my favourite horror films for sure. Would you consider reacting to the original Japanese One Missed Call? (Not the American remake, that one's trash :D) There aren't almost any reactions to that one on youtube
Hey Rob, I notice you've a projection tv going on there. May I ask you what size you typically have your screen set at or do you adjust it depending on the definition of the movie?
I love horror movies, this Shutter and the original Ring, and juon are the three films i can only watch in full daylight, they scare me that much, and i love horror and not many scare me but those three nope
@@therobw I think its the Silence, they use th silence if it was western there would be more sound stings, as with the remakes it loses something. at least thats what i have experienced
Thai people(or SEA) believe that spirits are lower status than human (spirits = 4 Khandha/human = 5 Khandha) basically it can't ride a higher body like your neck/your head. But if spirit can ride your neck it means that spirit has higher status than you now because of karma and it has a right to do whatever it wants. If spirit crawl and grab your leg = it might ask for help, if spirits walk pass you = it just passing by but if spirit ride your neck well, you got a grave problem😰
I’ve been searching to find a movie I saw once and can’t find again, it was a suggestion on the top 10 scariest movies of all time but I can’t find that list thst had it now, it was a south American movie, Guatemalan I think, about this demon that inhabits a home and man I only saw it once but it’s found footage style had me 100% thinking even after that it was real, scariest movie I’ve ever seen but I can’t find it now. Been looking for a while so I appreciate when someone tries some international!
Saw the American remake not original is why I couldn't recommend it lol but this one was a nice one tho... Ok lets see what sounds good?.. Noroi Train to Busan Splinter Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County Grave Encounters (Part 2 might be better) The Void All Hallow's Eve (1 & 2) Ghost Stories The Monster The Hallow Siren Creep (1 & 2) I Trapped The Devil The Devil's Backbone Last Shift The Collection Cronos The Invitation The Pyramid Silent Hill Clown The Mist Case 39 The New Daughter Lake Mungo The Dead Zone Look up Aaron Moorhead, most of his are unique...
This is such an early 2000 classic. I saw this in 2006 but i never looked at her face until 2018. That was how badshit scared i was of this film. There was a 2008 remake but it was shitty
I am definitely one of the 10 people who actually like the American remake. Look, it's bad compared to the original, it has bad acting and bad directing, but I love to watch it for background noise when I clean my apartment.
omg i just watched infinity pool, you have got to add it to your list lol, theres not a lot of reactions, i liked this reaction, but i have only seen the american version lol, but i still wanted to watch it, i'm still waiting for your eden lake one lol 😝
Also during the moment the spirit was being violated by his friends.. and they told Tun to take a picture. Am I the only one who noticed that the lens cap was still on the camera? So those pictures wouldn't even exist..anywho still a good movie but lots of mistakes
I used to watch them in pitch black for my reactions but it was hard to see my webcam so I put a little nightlight thing on now. It looks a lot brighter in this video then it actually is in my living room while I’m watching these
Oh crap!! I didn’t get notification which has been happening quite often lately. 🫤 I’ll just enjoy Rob’s reaction now and it’ll be even better since its gotten dark out. 🫣😉 I love this movie and am so excited seeing how much You enjoyed it! Great reaction, thanks Rob. 👏🏼
When you said in the video it's all fake. Think about it. If there's no such thing as ghost or demon, then in all cultures & religions from all time, where/why did the words ghost or demon ever exist or came from?!?
