This is another good one. The Bay is a crazy ride. I remember seeing it and it really had a realistic horror feel to it. Very good how they pulled that off.
I got a good unexpected laugh when "the chillest guy" I have seen/heard declared that he could be a shock-jock-style radio personality. Not that it could not be done, but think of how dramatically different the on-air personality would be :)
The parasites in this movie are based on a real creature. Cymothoa exigua is a parasite that infects fish through the gills. They latch on to the tongue and feed off its blood supply. As the tongue withers and dies, the parasite grows and eventually replaces it. While the real life parasite is effectively harmless to humans (they can bite, but they're not adapted to be able to live on humans), there is a fictional species of it in the Vampire: the Requiem TTRPG. The species in that can infect humans, and as it replaces the tongue, it also secretes chemicals that basically makes it takes control of the brain. Makes for an interesting/scary antagonist, as the parasite in the human grows big and strong enough to serve as a tongue spike (like the xenomorph tongues in Alien).
I love your reactions because you always give us hidden gems. I actually really like this movie. I think the scenes at the hospital with the doctor are what really made this movie more entertaining for me.
All time top best types of genres/movies out there, 1, Sci-fi, 2, Horror, 3, Found Footage films (horror included) 4, Stop Motion films, (horror also included) and last but not least, number 5, animated CGI films (horror can be included too)
The found footage style worked in it because the cameras being. There to film what was happening made logical sense. Because cameras would realistically be in that kind of area and circumstance. On one of the audio commentaries for one of the VHS movies they said. That's the hardest part of this kind of movie is justifying the camera being there.
I didnt know exactly what you meant with your bad experience with crabs until you laughed and said "not what you think it is" that made me die of laughter to where I couldnt even stand up LOL
Oh nice, great body horror flick, one of my favorites I bought on DVD back when hastings was still around (90% of my collection came from that awesome store, rip) and Harris/Teater, you on the east coast? I never been to one till I moved to north Carolina, I'm from tn and in process of moving back
@@therobw oh cool small world, woulda been cool to hangout one night w some beers and snacks and show you my giant old CD folder filled w horror films, some randoms are the brood, dark corners, the sentinel, burnt offerings, superstition, the tunnel, frontiers (that one is almost too much for me to handle) appreciate your channel man, great content and energy 💪💚🤘
Eden Lake is so good, I watched it a while ago, (Sometime in the last 8 years I think) and it is so disturbing but a really good horror movie focusing on more realistic horror which is always more scarier than fictional. If you can react definitely post it on the channel but the way RU-vid is, if you can't I'd recommend watching it in your own time, you won't be disappointed.
This movie made me not want to eat seafood. Whenever I eat shrimp I think of this movie..it was a great movie though! Eden Lake is a good watch, annoying but a pretty good disturbing movie
Man! I keep saying how blown away I am when I see your movie selection. All these movies I saw once, and enjoyed. But then i forgot about them, until you remind me haha. I can’t wait until you try out Grave Encounters and Don’t Blink someday! Thanks for your awesome reactions, man!
12:30 Mistakes were made i was holding my phone with one hand and instantly the bug came out of the fish in the same direction as my hand and i nearly launched my phone with a small shriek
Oh, good to know you haven't seen Eden Lake yet. Something to look forward to. It is pretty disturbing but it's also amazing. Other ones I would recommend (besides the ones you already know about) would be either The Sadness (also disturbing) or a found footage style film called "Silent House". Pretty atmospheric, undereated scary flick that has been shot as if it was one continuous shot. Which I thought was pretty cool! Would like to see you pick up some of my recommendations at some point! 👍 No rush, though! You keep doing you! 🤝
Although.... All things considered, I wouldn't even say, Eden Lake is THAT disturbing. I would say it's much more MEMORABLE than it is "disturbing". You've watched much more disturbing shit at this point, I am sure....
@@therobw Thanks brother. Just don't forget about Desert Flower and The Fountain! Ok? (And perhaps, Predestination, if you wanna slide in a little surprising sci fi) Love you! 🤝
