Now I get why she doesn't say "my daughter", she specifically says "Ladies & Gentlemen, Ms. Nicole Chien". As in presenting her to the world as her own person.
I really like how Lea introduces Nicole as “Ms. Nicole Chien” and not specifically like “my beautiful daughter”. It’s as if Lea is giving Nicole a chance to be her own unique self :)
Although her talent definitely came from Lea, she will never be exactly like her mother. Because she is NICOLE CHIEN. I know she’s gonna be different from her mom. She’ll have her own unique spotlight. And I can’t wait to see that. So proud of the girl she is now and I can’t wait to see her improve even more.
Petition to make a live action Disney Movie with Lea and Nicole... Lea as an Asian-American Immigrant "Tiger Mom" pushing her daughter (Nicole), to excell in academics but her daughter just wants to perform which the mom sees as a waste of time. Secretly though that was her (The Mom's) dream as well when she was young but she was forced to go the more "practical" route and set her dreams aside. What follows is a story of a mother and daughter bridging the generation gap and drawing closer to each other as they try to reconcile their differences playing with the concept of strict Asian practical sensibilities... Also, make it a musical, a well written one... ☺
Though Nicole's voice is not as solid as Lea's voice back when she's about her age, Nicole has a good ear and she has improved A LOT. Her voice became better, she became more confident and it's obvious that she likes singing. She's happy and I hope that she won't get pressured. I hope she's not thinking about the need of being successful at a young age like her mom. You are appreciated, Nicole! Just keep on doing what you love!
People got a wrong impression of Lea as "mayabang" when in fact all her friends can attest that she is really not. It only happened that small mind people think that way
Kids of legendary and larger than life singers like Lea really have a tough shoes to fill musically. Ok lang sakin if they're not as perfect as their parents, basta they enjoy what they're doing. I'm just here to enjoy the parent and child chemistry and dynamic.
Nicole was so cute and she dressed appropriately. She dressed according to her age. :) I love to watch Lea and her daughter, singing together. Adorable.
ain't we all happy that nicole's shyness isn't there anymore? like omg eversince she's got that cool aura her mom lea has and now she improved a lot too!!!
Why is anybody surprised Nicole Chien is talented? She may have been nervous the first time she sang at four years old, but even then she was on key and had a beautiful tone... thee fact that at four years old she could produce even that in front of a thousand people is amazing.
WOW...what a little Powerhouse Nicole has become.....talk about gaining her Voice in the world of Music She has the soul of a lady much older then she.......This is Going to be journey...One Proud Mother right There
Now Leah became like her mother Ligaya. I am so impressed with Nicole's voice and her confidence in front of a big crowd. I am looling forward to this girl's future stage plays.
She has improved a lot from the last time she performed with Lea. Her part in Matilda had transformed her from very shy little kid to this level...it's a shame for those people who bashed her during her first appearances that she can't sing. why can't she? she's Lea's kid after all,.. she'll one day make a name of her own if she pursue singing as career.
@@MultiChe78 Syempre dahil yung si Lea yung nanay nya so she obviously have one of the best coaches in the world, kaya magaling siya kaisa sa yung bata pa si Lea.
She receive a lot of criticism and now she improve a lot to show to those people bashing and judging her that she can do it and make it wonderful singer like her mom... I'm ready to your next performance in the future baby salonga❤❤
Nicole has grown up. Her voice also developed from unsure voice singing "yesterday's dream" to this. Hope she will enter musical theater too like her mother
This could be disney princess of the future. People dont realize how completely disarming that sweet shyness can be when its cloaked with beautiful sincerity. Dont forget she has the greatest vocalist ever for an instructor and mom. Lea Salonga may be an even better mom than a vocal artist if that's possible. The best theres ever been in every possible way.
I knew I could count on you Tim Chen! I've been watching your videos over and over again for years, since the last anniversary concert. You're the best, Salamat Salamat from NY ;) God Bless!
Omg 😍😍 the legend must pass on .. Her kid is different especially the voice a slight husky and bilog ang boses her mom is crystal clear ... But happy the legend continues
Besides being impressed with the performance, I just love that she chose this song to sing! I don't think ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is a very well-known show, nor is the song "Shy" very well-known to casual musical lovers. It's a funny song where you have to show personality while you sing, not just produce some pretty notes. And there is belting. Super cute.
I remember when she was so shy the first time she sang, but now, WOW! just wow! She even already know how to project the proper facial expressions for the song while singing on stage.. AMAZING!❤
She looks shy but when you listen to her you will definitely hear the opposite. She is indeed not a shy one because singing a song like this takes a lot of courage and she gave her best. Congratulations Nicole and Lea
Ohh I can imagine the weight in Nocole's shoulders. The shadow of Lea's recognition. But I think I it's good thing for Nicole to develop within the theater/Broadway genre, instead of mainstream pop. Go Nicole!
