S.Ray was also respectful to S.Benegal - had critical appreciation about the Indian parallel cinema with optimism for its future. The next generation directors inspite of experimentations maintained the narrative more or less as the main feature of language. This is one of their debts to S. Ray.
that video of the boy .......it is so well portrayed it showed the defiance of an adult as if showing his wealth to an under priveledged one ...as well as his lonelinesss the expression and the storm in his mind spoke so much of his depression ...he made that boy ....looks like a man is in that one scene ....its beautiful detailing ... its topicless hence ageless and beautiful
Satyajit Ray received the Ramon Magsaysay Award long time back and H.H.The Dalai Lama got the same award today. What a coincidence. One of Asia's highest honors, reversing the spirit demonstrated by people and organizations through altruistic and selfless dedication to the people of Asia. Asians who stand out in their profession and have a reputation for voluntarily serving others without seeking public awareness are eligible for the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
I find Benegal's movie better than Ray, ....ray 's is dry like adoor lacked entertainment.we can sometimes get that type of story even if you run video on street or your own home it will sprout something.Its like a difference as in poetry and song. A wonderful song with meaning and great music and voice will always be above poetry recitation!
What a stupid comment. Benegal is a student in front of Ray. No one can come within 500 square feet of Ray. Even Stephen speilbeeg once copied his script and won oscar. google about Ray. Legendary director martin scorsese said his idol is Ray. Ray's level of cinematography was way ahead of its time.
