SICK of the Ford Transit Trail Issues/Recalls 

So sorry you are going through this. It's crazy. Luckily we dodged the bullet. After waiting for our Trail for over 8 months, we threw in the towel, got our refundable deposit back, and bought a Mercedes 2022 4x4 (new). We love it! We just finished the build and we're back on the road. I hope all of these issues get resolved to your satisfaction. We have friends with Transits and love them, so I hope Ford comes through for you and you end up with a van you love. Hang in there!

I have a 17 350 el hr with a 4.10 rear posi. rr bearing went out quickly. They replaced it. Always had some noise in it. I finally concluded it was the 90w gear oil. Drained it pulled the diff cover and cleaned it. Replaced with 85-140 and the bottle of additive. No more issues.

I dodged a bullet, I was looking to get an AWD Ford Transit Trail and trade in my Dodge Promaster but decided to keep it because of the low depreciating value. I didn't even know that there were issues until I saw a post about it today. I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Someone did a video about the Trail and compared the "piss poor" lift to an after-market lift to a regular Ford commercial van someone can have done. I guess Ford put out the Trail just to make money off of the van life boom. smh

I'm in. Class action lawsuit is needed. Now they are dropping 2 inches off lift

I am in, i don't have Facebook account.Some of the issues discussed in the ford transit forum. I waited a full one year to get the transit trail. I think ford should refund trail owners the $12k trail package. This was a false advertisement which is against the law in CA.

I have a 2017 t-250 with 450,000 miles. Bought it used. It also has a rear end wine before and after the rebuilt rear end. I didn't know this was common.

I’ve had no issues and just the 1 recall that was addressed in a day. Waiting on the front wheel recall to have a fix but, that said I’ve no others issues at all with 2k miles on it.

Rear diff is a common issue since 2016

I've had sprinters, and several promasters..no different with any of them. Good and bad...there were recalls on all of them. Bought a trail & so far, so good 🤞...The front tire rub is a big fat F for ford. I doubt Ford will do anything to compensate or figure a fix...time will tell

If you trim under the wheel well will it fix the rubbing?? I know when I put larger tires on my 15 transit eco boost (180k miles no issues) I had to hammer down the pinch weld and it doesn’t rub unless I hit a steep grade at a higher speed

Just wait 5-6 years when all the plastic pieces they use in the coolant system start to go brittle and crumbles before your eyes. No lie.

From my daughter's experience with her Ford Focus, I can tell you that groups and complaints on forums will have little impact on Ford. Unfortunately, she didn't do her research prior to buying the car. Had she, she would have found that there were several global class-action lawsuits against Ford for the Focus. Ford, and other manufacturers, will delay as much as they can hoping the consumer either gives up or the warranty period runs out. Fortunately, she kept detailed records of all the issues and visits to the dealer. She followed the lemon law process in California, not surprisingly, Ford denied her claim. She hired an attorney and sued Ford; Ford filed an answer to the complaint and it went to trial. She won, Ford had to pay her attorney thousands in legals fees and refund my daughter. I suggest you research the lemon laws in your state and document all of your issues. The dealerships are not your friend, they'll feed you lines of bullshit and hope you go away. Good luck.

Is it true that they have a max MPH of 81? I have one that I ordered and now it says it’s still in production as of 1/26/24 it’s halted on line and was wondering what’s going on? Thanks for the vid and I also saw this on the group you’re talking about on FB.

Does your van have rust issues at the roof vent?

why $11k ? The ford said it is designed to withstand off road terrain like it should be rather than quick lift which will have stress on its axle and transmission. I was waiting for Ford Trail rather than Sprinter because its easy of service and gasoline fuel rather than diesel... I should not waited for Trail, meanwhile Sprinter price went up...

Are the recalls specific to the transit trail or all transit models?

I have one on order... It is built but it is not shipped yet because of 2 recalls. After seeing your video I'm debating if I should cancel and buy something else. Or let them repair the bugs before they ship it to me...
