Sid is a former WWE and WCW Champion who actually knew Goldberg when he was still playing for the Atlanta Falcons. Sid and Goldberg had a major main event feud which remains one of the highlights from that era in WCW.
Goldberg eventually made his way to WWE after World Championship Wrestling closed its doors. Vince McMahon would bring Bill back again in the 2020s the main event several high profile events.

Sid had one of the best if not the best power bombs of all time. Used to love watching him in the late 80s and early 90s in the WCW days.

Sid was so underrated it was sickening. Just as big as Hogan if not bigger. Sid definitely should have had Hogan's spot but with Hogan's back stabbing that wasn't gonna happen. Sid deserved a major push over Hogan but didn't get it because of Hogan.

Yeah when I was a kid he seemed like a bigger version of Hogan that was just angrier and disturbed. Dude was scarier than most.

Lesner def gave me Sid vibes when I first saw him. Lesner was much better in the ring but Sid was significantly bigger than Brock.

Almost like they, along with hogan, were known to be willing to ruin careers on a regular basis just so they could keep their friends on the payroll, and stay on the top of the mountain.

who?

Goldberg wasn't the big draw at the end of WCW cause WCW had tried to push Hogan as the main fave again, which is a big part of why WCW failed.

@@CurlyFromTheSwirly Hogan was still the biggest draw. In 1999 when Hogan was featured on a PPV it averaged 35% more sales, than those without Hogan. There's simply no denying, that Hogan still was the biggest draw WCW had, no matter what clueless marks like you think.

@ShadowAngel1860 , That doesn't change the fact that his popularity was declining, and he was more valuable to the company as a heel. (He was getting booed cause people were bored with him.) Also, several of those PPVs in 1999 still had Hollywood Hogan instead of Hukster. He entered Feb & March to defend the title against Flair. In April he was still Hollywood entering a 4 way match to regain the title. By the time he wore red & yellow again, WCW was entering its desperate phase. He had 3 more PPV events, to defend his title against Kevin Trash and then against Sting. It's really hard to say that Hogan being at the event made it draw more money. The early part of the year simply had better story lines, though it wasn't the peak of WCW. Don't forget that WCW made 30 million in 1998, but lost 9 million in 1999. However, it must be said that the start of 1999 was going well, and the losses came later in the year. So obviously, if we are going to make a claim that Hogan draws attention, viewers, and money; it worked better as bad guy Hollywood Hogan. I still think WCW was more enjoyable, but that doesn't change that WCW refused to evolve and do new things. WWF developed Stone Cold, The Rock, HHH, Kurt Angle. They kept The Undertaker popular & relevant by doing new gimmicks. As evil as what Vince did the Bret Hart was, it at least showed he knew how to get rid of wrestlers that weren't right for the company. I guess McMahon loved his company, while Turner was just some rich guy who could have fun with it.

One of the few people willing to admit that Goldberg was on the way down BEFORE he joined WWE. Most people blame Vince for burying Goldberg rather than facing the truth that Goldberg wasn’t as “over” as they thought he was. 👍👍👍👍

Sid never dropped people on their head, kicked them in the head, or ended the Hitman's career. Even if Goldberg is a genuinely nice guy, he is extremely dangerous to work with. So was Ahmed Johnson.
