This video starts our day off on Poison Spyder trail where we try and salvage what's left of our rock crawler overland adventure (we call "crawler-landing") and get some sight seeing in before our overnight-ed steering pump shows up. Utah really is an amazing place, it really makes us want to find an older coleman pop up trailer, put some 35s on it and leave it at a campground by town so we can spend a month living out of it. I hope you enjoy our misadventures as much as we do! Things go wrong for us so often that we are kind of numb to it--or maybe things never go wrong and your attitude about problems matter more than the problems themselves.
Confused? Here's Part 1:

Its kinda like harbor freight, i keep breaking their stuff but i keep buying their stuff. So maybe its my fault? But at the same time the yukon hubs/shafts dont work, our marlin adapter leaks, the psc ram leaked before i rebuilt it, our arb was broken in the box, our electric fan melted in under 1k miles, and our first alternator blew up in probably like 200 miles. So i don't know... i'm starting to get a complex about it, im gonna only buy parts from the junkyard from now on because everything i built out of junkyard stuff still works perfect 😑😂. It's only the stuff thats brand new and actually meant to go where im putting it that doesnt work

Love what you guys do. Also had a quick question: Do you use an old IFS style steering box? And if you do what type of fluid do you use? After about 5k miles after my SAS my box started leaking and i looked into it and saw that people run ATF dex II instead of power steering fluid- what have you heard? Btw I have the OE pump from the 5vz and no hydro assist. Just mechanical. Thanks man!
@WheelEveryWeekend
@WheelEveryWeekend 4 года назад
If its the OE pump i would run ATF which is what toyota recommends i believe. Depending on where its leaking a seal kit is only 30 or 40 bucks... you can also try some stop leak of course but none of that stuff really works haha. I run an IFS steering box for the hydro assist and i only use swepco 715 which is a hydraulic oil technically.
@nikolaisaint9137
@nikolaisaint9137 4 года назад
@@WheelEveryWeekend sweet, thanks for the info. I'll try the ATF, I heard it expands the seals while power steering fluid shrinks them on the IFS style box
@COLINSMITHSLO

@@WheelEveryWeekend FWIW I have the same Trail Gear pump and in a pinch I used some Napa Tractor Fluid. I do not recommend.. Swepco is the right way to go!
