Screw what everyone else below me said, I loved your video....and it was the first thing that came up on youtube when I typed in "shaved side pros and con" which is great because I had no idea it was called an "undercut" either....ya know, since I'm not a stylist.

I've been thinking about doing this style for a long time, but after watching, I don't think its for me. I'm so glad you expressed some of the con's that i have been worrying about. Thank you for your honestly.

i did mine like 6 months back and i live in india so the staring and the talking behind the back was kinda extreme..lol i loved the shaved thingy but couldnt keep it because of the society..so i let that grow and now its grown upto my ear :D still lovin it tho..

I have thought about getting a side cut for a few years but this morning I decided for sure! I cannot wait to get it done! I have always been bullied but I am getting to the point where I'm like "I'm me, like me or hate me, I don't care!"

You're a wonderful bundle of contradictions, you look like Cordelia from Buffy, sound super upbeat and friendly and have an edgy haircut. Love it. I also enjoyed the pros and cons, because I worked my way from an a-line to half shaved to a fohawk pixie in eight months and had to think over so much of that as I did that journey.

i've been thinking of getting a sidecut! i want to thank you for making this video, this makes me so much more comfortable asking for a sidecut as a late birthday gift. i'm doing it this summer (in my country) and like you said, i always pin one side of my head just to see if i like how it looks. i like it and i'm excited to get a sidecut! i should also get clippers, since you said that it's a long term commitment. again thank you for making this video! totally appreciate it!

I have both of my sides cut off and I've loved it for about 6 months. Of coarse I get a lot of bad comments on it but I honestly like the look and I can wear it on either side which is cool I can't hide it unless I wear my hair down the middle which I don't do alot. But I'm letting my hair grow back out now and when it gets to a reasonable length I'm cutting the rest of my hair to blend it out. I've liked the look while I've had it though

Here Im officially impressed, this is the first , truely honest video review of hairstyles and haircuts that I hear, your opinion really was realistic, so it helped me to decide right away about it And it felt like the opinion of a very good friend, yay, I wish you could make reivews of different haircuts, (even if not ones you had tried)

Great video! I rocked the one side shaved for a year. But then it just wasn't enough for me .... So I shaved both sides.

Another pro is you can do a bunch of hairstyles on that one spot haha. I've had shaved super close, fuzzy, with long sideburns. And changing the color of it makes it pop more. Adn if you don't want a crazy color there you can make that part of your hair a lighter tone than your natural hair(depending on the color of the rest of your hair).

That is so true! It's so much easier to style. I have thought about shaving behind my ear, but I'm pretty happy with it the way it is. Thanks for watching!

I decided to do it although I did more of a deathrock/deathhawk inspired thingy but it's awesome the only thing is I should of done it when summer rolled around because now I have to wear a hat whenever I go outside which isn't fun when you try and backcomb your hair for the deathrock style. :3 thanks again

It's definitely not for someone who wants to change their hair a lot. I've had mine done for about 7 months now and I love it. Up keep is weekly though!

I've had long hair up to under my boobs for years and years but two weeks ago I cut it above my shoulders with a ton on badass layers, and got side a side cut and I love it. I was so tired of having such a plain prissy girl haircut so I went all out. At first I was like "oh no, wtf did I just do?", and I thought my mom was going to kill me but she actually liked that I could cover it up. Then I started liking it more. But with my hair it's hard to maintain because my hair is naturally light blonde and I've had my hair dyed brown for years. So that'll be a little hard to keep up with while it grows. But I love it. Change is good. Great video btw, yours looks great.

My twin sister calls mine a bald spot but I adore mine. It's 1/3 of my head though, so a bit more than yours and I color the rest of my hair :D I work as a nurse so it's groovy. She hates it, the people at my church (mormons) love it :D they brought up a great point (elderly ladies did) there's always that one side of your head you can't fix like the other, now that isn't a thing! Haha!!!! :D Btw, I just subscribed!! :D

Thank you so much for this video! I did a lot of research, looked at a lot of photos and watched videos. And your video helped me the most! It's true not a lot of people like it. That's why you really have to think really hard of getting one. I just had my sidecut recently and I LOVE IT! It's a bit on the fuzzy side but that's what i want :) No regrets whatsoever. But I'm gonna grow out my bangs like yours so that when i flip it over to one side it doesn't look awkward. hahahaha :D

It really depends what you look like! It's hard to tell in your picture because of the angle, but short haircuts look good on people with round faces - so I'd say yes.

I love girls that have this hairstyle... personally I think it looks really good and it's nice when you pet your girlfriend because her hair on one side is like a horses mane and on the other side its like a little baby deer :3

Great video, gave it a like :) Just want to say though, in my group of mid-20s, american, grad-school guys, girls with sidecuts are generally frowned on. For what it's worth though, yours looks better than any sidecut I have seen out in the real world (nicely shaped head perhaps?). If you ever did want to change, what is the "exit strategy"?

I have a deathhawk and the first time my grandmother Sean it up she was like "wow that's a haircut" ahaha I got a lout cut off and I can still hid it perfectly.

I've gotten side-shave / undercut but one thing I never understood is.. does that usually include cutting the back too or no? I've had people ask and I've done both but was never sure what was "proper."
