The #NBA G League Ignite's Sidy Cissoko 🇫🇷 is my favorite sleeper of the 2023 #NBADraft. He was just drafted by the #SanAntonioSpurs.

Seems like going to San Antonio will be AMAZING for his development

100%. Excited to watch him and Wemby together. Sidy should play really well off the pressure/attention Victor constantly generates. Already has experience doing that with Scoot Henderson this year!

Hadn't heard of Sidy before but he seems to have a lot of potential, maybe needs to find one thing he really excels at, but the versatility is great. Also having another French guy in Wembanyama on the same team, it's good for both of them. Spurs doing their thing Very solid breakdown, thanks!
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Год назад
Thanks, appreciate it! Sidy doesn’t have one go-to skill right now like you said, but he’s good at an accumulation of things. I think he is a steal - I had him as a top 25 prospect. He has two-way poise, which is very important with Wembanyama long term, and he also knows how to attack gaps. If he’s on the court, then Sidy will understand how to leverage Wemby’s gravity. He already did so with Scoot Henderson for the G League Ignite this season!
@Ivander85

@@FloorandCeiling Yes! And Pop loves players who actually like to play defense and who actively "try to make the right play" like Sidy does on these handoffs when attacking the basket - not just looking to score or draw FTs. Those things gain Pop's trust faster than anything. As I said I hadn't heard of him before yesterday but I'm hyped for the kid.

I saw this guy play last season in the Spanish second division and I am amazed at his physical evolution, he must have grown about 3 inches and gained about 30 pounds of muscle. And his game development has also improved. His main problems were a bad three point shooting percentage and turnovers and in both aspects he has improved (from 24.8 to 30.4% in three pointers and from 2.8 to 1.9 in turnovers). He is not a pure point guard, he is not a shooter, but he is very versatile and progresses every year. And he defends, is quick on his feet and can physically hold up to players from 1 to 4. He can be in the lottery or very close.
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Год назад
His development as a player and as an athlete has definitely been remarkable. It's important to note that he's also one of the younger players this draft, having just turned 19 on April 2 while already having plenty of experience living a professional lifestyle. That's really important as well when it comes to adjusting to the NBA schedule. Sidy's 3-pointer still needs to improve, but there's encouraging signs. He's just lacking consistency. Even then, you can't totally ignore him because of his passing and driving game also.
@Coffee-n-ball
@Coffee-n-ball Год назад
Cissoko and Max Lewis are my top 2 boom or bust prospects. I like them, but I also understand it's going to be a waiting game with them as they put all their tools together to be able to contribute. Also, can anyone verify how tall Sidy is? I've seen anywhere from 6'5 to 6'8. Can't wait for the draft combine to get exact measurements.
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Год назад
I’ve watched him in person a number of times this season and I’d say he’s close to 6-8 in shoes. I’m also really interested in seeing Sidy’s official measurements since he’s definitely grown since the last time they were taken. Thanks for watching!
@Coffee-n-ball
@Coffee-n-ball Год назад
@@FloorandCeiling Oh okay, I feel like a 6'8 wing is just more valuable as he can guard multiple positions. Thanks man, love the videos.

6’5.5’’ without shoes in the Combine. It uses to be 6’7’’ with shoes.
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Год назад
@@alvaromartinez-cachero1231 Add about an inch in shoes and that's probably close to 6-7 again, with a great wingspan at almost 6-10, and a great standing reach (same as the Thompson Twins, better than Cam Whitmore or Anthony Black). Part of it, I'm sure, is that Sidy has just grown overall physically so he gives the impression of being a lot bigger than he used to be.
@ollytropics1735

I think id like him on the warriors he could be a nice connective player on offense and a solid defender if he can get his catch and shoot numbers better hed be a great asset for the team
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Год назад
Yeah, Sidy is a great fit on a lot of the playoff/championship contender teams. He can be the connective tissue on the floor and he's got the size and athleticism to be impactful on both ends, so that's great. Then, he also has plenty of pro experience already which is an asset. He's basically been living on his own since he was 13 or so. I think his shooting will be okay in the long run. Raising the volume is the big thing. The percentage too - it's a little low right now, but he was hurt by one really poor shooting stretch to end the year. I don't think his near-40% peak at one point is sustainable either, but maybe 34-35% on low volume is reasonable to start off.
@ollytropics1735
@ollytropics1735 Год назад
@@FloorandCeiling I agree with that plus watching the highlights having curry and klay being the teammates he has to kick out to would greatly benefit his assist numbers. Also I think draymond would really help his defensive ceiling. Even if he only shoots three a game the ability to not be allowed open really changes the game look at Caruso he can shoot but he's not a shooter which I think is what sidy will turn into. I also buy into the finishing and rebounding. Perhaps an apt comparison could be a 6'8 Terrance Davis but with better playmaking

Good take! I like this kid, but he looks raw. Another yr in the G-league to work on the basics should help him in the long run. I'd hate to see young men like him sit on an NBA bench all season without any development.

Sidy's year-on-year improvement is so impressive that I agree he needs to get minutes regardless of the level. I trust that he will be able to get some minutes in NBA games, though. The good news too is that, starting next season, only the Phoenix Suns aren't gonna have a G League team. The Trail Blazers are launching an affiliate team.

Great side and skills. Love his feel for the game. Seems like he wants to create for others when possible. Strong finisher in the lane. He plays solid defense. Why wouldn't he go earlier? Could be a great glue guy for the Warriors at 19.
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Год назад
Sidy is one of the best glue guys, like you said, in this draft. No doubt about it for me. His explosiveness and finishing is underrated (no guards had as many dunks), he's a selfless facilitator who's gotten lead guard reps before, and he will be able to space the floor imo even though he has to up the volume.

@FloorandCeiling Год назад
I see why you’re saying this. It’s just that Siakam’s developmental curve is so rare and unique that it’s tough for me to get there with Sidy or any other prospect really. He had so few offensive tools coming out of college and is now a super complete player on that end. I’m pretty high on Cissoko though. Thanks for watching!

@@FloorandCeiling sure, it’s definetly not perfect, and I’m not the type of person to say anyones like “the next Kawhi” or whatever, but I do think his size/athleticism profile is very similar. Another player I’ve thought about is Warriors Andrew Wiggins, obviously because of the borderline elite athleticism as well as the defense and flashes of 3 level scoring
